Beautiful scenery the hotel to be called 5 stars I don’t agree maybe three stars because they have to take a note and read the reviews of everyone and fix those problems maybe when it first got opened it was 5 stars but not at its current condition the investors they don’t want to put any more money it’s a shame.

We planned to finish our honeymoon in this (allegedly) 5* star hotel - quod non. Unfortunately, the hotel was terrible: the room was dirty and the walls were full of mould, the shower was broken and the whole structure was in a very bad condition and neglected (see pictures). We were shown other rooms that were unfortunately in the same poor condition, the main problem was dirt and mould. No surprise there were stains on all the pillows because the housekeeping, when re-cleaning the room, treated the pillows and furniture very poorly, basically throwing them out of the room on the dirty floor. Since we did not want to stay in a room with mould for 6 nights (which is also dangerous from a health point of view), we decided to anticipate our departure. The only nice thing was the beach. Firstly the positives Beautiful setting on white sandy beach, with azure waters. The stilted pavilion out into the water is simply stunning for drinks at sun down. The gardens which surround the rooms are well maintained and very pretty The food for all inclusive was good The staff were friendly and helpful, apart from at the beach bar when it took forever to be served, unless , as it appeared, that you were someone who tipped them well. Negatives Sun loungers tatty, no cushions and only 1 towel allocation per guest Evening entertainment was generally good but did not like the evenings where guests were harassed into getting up to follow a dance routine- this is not a UK seaside holiday camp! Rooms definitely need a refurbishment particularly in bathrooms. Mould in shower and sealant needing replacing. Water had egressed under mirrors so they too need replacing. When there was heavy rain water poured into our bathroom from ceiling and shower water level increased and flowed over the top . I know the hotel is under new ownership so they may well have a plan for refurbishment. The beautiful beach setting is spoiled by the beach sellers that you have to "run the gauntlet" through to get to the sea. One morning i looked up from my sun bed and there were 23 waiving T shirts, bags etc at me. There was also, very sadly, locals with monkeys on leads. These monkeys will have had their mothers killed and then been taken. They were sad and pacing up and down on their leads yet still people were so ignorant that they were having photos taken. Until people are educated about this monkeys will continue to be killed and cruelly treated. Animals belong in the wild. The management of the hotel should get security to control what goes on on the beach in front of the hotel Read less

Ok ocean views from room, higher up may be better we were on the lower level. The food was excellent, lots of choice and delicious. The best part was the beach, lots of chairs, the swimming was great too, watch out for sea ur hind out near the swimming rope but the water is so clear you can see them easy and there wasn’t too many while we were there. Compared to the other hotels in area, I think we had the best beach and swimming area. The sellers on beach stay down by the water and are friendly but don’t bother you. The dive shop at the resort was great! Diving was pretty good. We also used the SUP which were great. And they organized a dolphins swim, snorkel trip for us for same price as beach guys that was great. The drinks and bars were great. The sunset bar was amazing everyday for drinks, saw dolphins out there a few times. Read less

Our group of 4 stayed here for 4 nights at the end of several weeks of travel in East Africa. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Nungwi. We were very impressed with the rooms, service, food, and scenery. The rooms themselves were very comfortable. Mosquito netting is provided, which I would recommend using. We had an issue with our hot water in one of the rooms that we noticed on our first day and upon notifying the staff, it was fixed the same day. The staff is welcoming and helpful. We were behind a large group checking in, and the staff were very apologetic for the delays, which truly weren’t bad. Upon check in, we were driven to our room in a golf cart with our luggage and dropped off at the door. The same applied with check-out. The staff also generously allowed us a later check out as our flight home was in the evening. The beach and ocean are stunning. The beach itself is public, but the area belonging to the hotel is watched by a security guard. By the water there are some hawkers, but they are not aggressive and will generally leave you be with a firm “no thank you”. We were very impressed with the quality of the food. We ate almost all of our meals at the buffet, and there was enough variation in the meals that we did not tire of the food selection. Our last night we ate at the Italian restaurant (I recommend the gnocchi), but honestly we would have been happy eating at the buffet for all our meals. Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay at this all-inclusive resort in a beautiful location. Read less
