Its clean, beds are comfy, we slept well, you can hear the ocean, AC in the room was sufficient, silent, you can turn it off. Service was excellent. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice especially the local fruits including fresh coconuts. There is a small pool with access to the beach. View from our room as well from the bar and restaurant terrace was amazing. You can walk around the town on your own or with the guide, no need of taxi around the town. We were lucky, we came early in the morning and our room was ready including the complimentary breakfast. Read less

It is well-situated on the edge of Stone Town with its fascinating history and architecture – we managed without using a taxi once during a four-day stay. It adjoins the beach and we were able to swim in the sea as well as the pool; the fact that the locals used it might put some people off but enhanced the experience for us. I was delighted when some local boys applauded me after my 20 metres of front crawl. The chairs on the terrace were a perfect place to enjoy an evening cocktail – try the special based on local ginger. Read less

After more than 30 minutes a drink was offered, at the bar, for free. Due to slow service and timing or a tour we did not get the drink. Service was generally slow and wait times for drinks snacks and poolside was generally long. Lovely site on the beach in a stately old palace. Be aware main lobby is not air conditioned. a number of the public spaces are not air conditioned due to the nature of the original building. Rooms was quite good, A/C was even but may have a hint of mustiness....it is running constantly. A decent place to stay for a few days. Read less

Although the water was not as blue as other parts of Zanibar, the boat ride and time spent at Nakupenda, a short ride from the hotel, was relaxing and gorgeous. A shout out to the concierge at Park Hyatt especially Salvador Ngowi. He answered all my questions and was super helpful. Navigating Stone Town can be a little intimidating with all the side streets and alleyways. Salvador escorted me and my family to and from a massage place and also drove me home from a restaurant that was far from the hotel. Thank you Salvador for your patience and kindness. Read less
