This fascinating tour of Cape, Safari and The Falls will give you a true flavour of Southern Africa’s history, culture and natural beauty. Experience the hustle and bustle of South Africa’s second largest city, Cape Town, rub shoulders with the furry and feathery at Kruger National Park and experience the jaw-droppingly gorgeous Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River. 

Itinerary

Day 1: Cape Town

Jumbo and a warm welcome to Africa! - Upon arrival you’ll be met and transferred by your tour guide and transferred to the Raddison Red or similar for 4 nights. The afternoon is yours to explore the sights. Explore the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront for some great restaurants and nightlife. This is one of Cape Town’s biggest tourist attractions. This busy harbour is set in the midst of the huge entertainment venue with pubs, restaurants, crafts markets, theatres and lots more. Situated between Robben Island and Table Mountain, in the heart of Cape Town’s harbour, and set with a magnificent backdrop of the sea and mountains.

Day 2: Cape Town

Prepare for an exhilarating cable car ride to the summit of the legendary Table Mountain for breathtaking views (weather permitting). A visit to two historic landmarks, the Castle, the country’s oldest building and the nearby Company Gardens follows. Then it’s a drive past City Hall, Slave Lodge and Parliament Buildings. Colonial then changes to colourful, as we move up the cobblestoned hills to the Malay Quarter, and marvel at the ice-cream colours of the quaint Bo-Kaap homes. Finally end the day on a sparkling note as you trace the moves of a professional diamond cutter. Afternoon is at leisure. (B)

Day 3: Cape Town

Drive along a stretch of coastline known as Millionaire’s Paradise and visit Hout Bay for an optional Seal Island cruise (own account and bookable locally) before visiting the Cape of Good Hope, Simons Town and the penguins at Boulders Beach. Venturing inland, your final stop is at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens – one of the world’s greatest botanical gardens situated at the foot of Table Mountain. (B)

Day 4: Cape Town

Today is at leisure to enjoy Cape Town or choose an optional tour to the Cape’s wine region (own account and bookable locally). (B)

Day 5: Kruger National Park

Fly to Kruger National Park area* (Hoedspruit Airport). On arrival, you’ll be greeted and taken into the park and onto Imbali Safari Lodge or similar for 3 nights. Enjoy an afternoon game-drive as you get to see the amazingwildlife of Africa. (B/L/D)

Please note: on the following departure dates you will be staying at Motswari Private Game Reserve (Timbavati Game Reserve) instead of Imbali Safari Lodge: 12 Jun '20, 18 Sep '20, 9 and 23 Oct '20, 13 and 27 Nov '20, 8 Jan '21, 26 Feb '21, 26 Mar '21 and 23 Apr '21.

Days 6 and 7: Kruger National Park

The Kruger National Park offers the ultimate wildlife experience. Providing unrivalled diversity within 2 million hectares of wilderness, you’ll enjoy morning and afternoon game-drives. If you choose you can also go on a walking safari and learn about the tracks and signs of the bush as well as the smaller animals that inhabit the park. (B/L/D)

Day 8: Johannesburg

On completing your last morning game-drive and after breakfast we travel back to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg*. On arrival, you’ll transfer to Southern Sun O.R. Tambo or similar for the night where you can relax at leisure. (B) ** Please note that your final morning game-drive is dependent your flight times **

Day 9: Livingstone, Zambia

Fly to Livingstone* in Zambia where you’ll stay at the David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa or similar for 3 nights. Here you can spend the rest of the day exploring your new surroundings on the bank of the Zambezi River. (B) 

Day 10: Livingstone, Zambia

This day of leisure is perfectly suited to visiting the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls, an optional guided tour is available from the lodge (own account and bookable locally). One of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls is called Mosi-oa-Tunya – the ‘smoke that thunders – by locals, and it’s a National Park and UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site. Inspiring visitors as much today as it did David Livingstone – the first European to witness the magnificent views of Victoria Falls - in the 1860s, it is one of Africa’s finest attractions. (B)

Day 11: Chobe National Park, Botswana

A sensational opportunity to view the wildlife of Chobe National Park from land and water. Driving into Botswana and to Chobe, the day starts with game viewing on a boat in the Chobe River. Here you’ll get to see herds of elephants, glorious birdlife and large crocodiles sitting nonchalantly on riverbanks. On disembarking, the fun continues with a drive through the Chobe Game Reserve where you’ll catch sight of more wonderful wildlife, before lunch at a lodge overlooking the Chobe River. After lunch, enjoy a game-drive in Chobe National Park. (B/L)

Day 12: End of tour

Alas your tour through Africa has come to an end, after breakfast you’ll transfer to Livingstone airport for your flight to Johannesburg* to connect with your onward travel arrangements back to the UK. (B)

Pre/Post Tour Options

The first day of the tour is at leisure but if you wanted to arrive earlier extra nights are available at the Southern Sun Waterfront in Cape Town. We recommend a beach stay in Mauritius after this tour.

Payment flexibility


Don’t worry if you’ve missed a payment or just need a little more time to pay; we have options available to help you. If your holiday is going ahead as planned, you can continue to pay for your holiday in Manage my booking, even if travelling in less than 12 weeks. If you’re unsure, you can delay any additional payments by choosing a new time to travel by requesting a call back in Manage My booking for one of our team to look at options. If your holiday is more than 6 months away, you may wish to set up a Direct Debit to spread the cost. This can be arranged whilst rebooking or afterwards in Manage my booking.

Thank you for your patience and understanding


Payments are being prioritised based on when the request was made, working in order from March 2020 onwards. We will always try to process refunds at the earliest opportunity, for requests before August our maximum timeframe is 120 days. As we are steadily reducing the maximum processing time for each new request, for refund requests made in August, we expect the maximum processing time to be 80 days, from the date the refund is requested. For those requesting a refund in September, we expect it to be processed within a maximum of 60 days, and then reduce to 30 days for refunds requested in October, before returning to normal levels.

We need to work through amend requests in departure date order so we can prioritise those with the most imminent travel plans, so you may have a longer wait than usual until we’re able to ring you back.
