An inspirational guided tour of South Africa’s natural landscape and rich flora and fauna. From the Cape Floral Kingdom world heritage site to the stunning coastline of Walker Bay, you’ll explore nature trails, walk along cliff paths, meet marine mammals and visit one of South Africa’s newest wine regions.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cape Town — Hermanus

Morning departure from Cape Town. A stunning coastal drive brings you to the Harold Porter National Botanical Garden with its delicate coastal Fynbos. Seek out the small breeding colony of African Penguins at Stoney Point. In the "Hemel en Aarde" region, one of South Africa's newest wine routes, indulge in wine tasting at a boutique winery before arriving in Hermanus.

DaY 2: Hermanus — Oudtshoorn

This morning explore the unique cliff paths of Hermanus and gasp at the outstanding views of Walker Bay. During the months of July-November, the possibility of whale sightings could add further enhancement to our explorations. Depart late morning stopping for a late lunch (for own account) in the pretty village of Barrydale on the scenic 'Route 62', then onward to Oudtshoorn. (B)

Day 3: Oudtshoorn — Knysna

Today you will have the opportunity to marvel at the impressive Cango Caves, filled with wonderful stalactite and stalagmite formations. Thereafter enjoy a guided tour at an ostrich farm, which will give you an insight into why Oudtshoorn is known as the "feather capital of the world". Travel via the panoramic Outeniqua Pass to Knysna, known as the oyster box of South Africa. (B)

Day 4: Knysna

This morning cruise the vast Knysna Lagoon and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where you will learn more about the fascinating history, fauna and flora of the area. Return for lunch. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure to further explore the charming village of Knysna. (B/L)

Day 5: Knysna — Tsitsikamma

Depart Knysna after breakfast and travel to Plettenberg Bay for an ocean safari (weather permitting). During the summer months you may encounter bottlenose and common dolphins as well as seals in their natural environment. During the winter months you may see southern right and humpback whales. For those brave souls amongst us, this afternoon you have the opportunity to attempt the world's highest bungee jump at Bloukrans Bridge (for own account and weather permitting). Arrive late afternoon at the picturesque village of Storms River. (B)

Day 6: Tsitsikamma — Port Elizabeth

This morning immerse yourselves in the splendour and tranquillity of the Tsitsikamma National Park and head to the Storms River Mouth for unrivalled views of the Indian Ocean (weather permitting). Continue your journey to Port Elizabeth where the tour ends. (B)

Your holiday may be affected by the government’s travel restrictions

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office UK have advised against all but essential travel. Depending on when you are due to travel, your holiday may be affected.

You’ll be away before you know it

Your holiday will not be going ahead as planned

Due to the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office UK have advised against all but essential travel before 16 April 2020.

We’re flexible with your holiday plans

If you were due to travel before the end of May 2020, you can postpone your holiday to a later date or even choose a different destination instead.

You’re good to go


In line with the advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office UK, all trips booked from June onwards are unaffected.

Rebook your holiday


We’ve sent you a voucher that is valid for the full value of your cancelled holiday. When you rebook, we’d like to gift you with 4,000 Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Miles too. 

But there’s no rush. To redeem your holiday voucher on a new booking with us, just give us a call any time before 31 July 2020 and quote your old booking reference.

If you’d like to travel with us sometime in the future, just give us a call and we’ll find a great holiday for you (and gift you with 4,000 Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Miles as a thank you). 

If you'd prefer to simply cancel completely, we understand, and we will refund you in full. You'll just need to give us a call. Refunds will be successfully returned in approximately 45 days.

Change it up


You can postpone your holiday to travel any time before 31 December 2021, and even choose a different destination. We won’t charge you to make these changes and our Service Team are there to help – just give us a call.
