A great introduction to the country's fantastic wildlife and scenic heritage, visiting the rolling grass plains of the Serengeti, the ancient baobab trees of Tarangire National park and Ngorongoro Crater, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Travel in the spring time to hopefully catch a glimpse of the Great Wildebeest Migration on their way back up to Kenya.
Jambo and a warm welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival you’ll be met by your tour guide at Kilimanjaro airport and transferred to African Tulip Hotel or similar. The lodge is right in the heart of Arusha. (D)
After breakfast, head to Tarangire (approximately 2 hours), the National Park has a vast number of baobab trees that first capture the eye. The gently rolling countryside is dotted with these majestic trees, which seem to dwarf the animals feeding beneath them. Arrive in time for lunch at Tarangire Sopa Lodge where you will also spend the night Afternoon game-drive in Tarangire National Park to spot elephant as well as other animals and large variety of birdlife. This is a long park and as you venture further south the more wild it becomes and until eventually total isolation. Overnight at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge or similar (B/L/D)
After breakfast depart for the Serengeti with a game-drive en-route through Tarangire (approximately 4 hours). Stopping for a lunch at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge and then continue on to Serengeti. Enjoy a game-drive across the stunning Serengeti Plains (approximately 3 hours and 3 minutes). Dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge or similar. (B/L/D)
After breakfast enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti, with a picnic lunch. The oldest and largest of Tanzania’s national parks, the Serengeti, whose name is derived from the Masai word for ‘endless plains’, presents us with the very essence of Africa. Its open savannahs thunder beneath the hooves of countless wildebeest and zebra, a tempting target for the ever-present predators. Spend the day in search of the Serengeti’s big game and so much more. Dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge or similar. (B/L/D)
After breakfast head out on a final morning game-drive in The Serengeti before driving to Ngorongoro stopping for a picnic lunch in the Naabi Hills area (approximate 5 hours 30 minutes). Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or similar. (B/L/D)
After breakfast spend a full day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site. With 30,000 animals in 100 square miles, game viewing is plentiful. Enjoy a picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or similar. (B/L/D)
After breakfast return to Arusha arriving at approximately midday (approximately 4 hours). Lunch and then drop off at Arusha airport or Kilimanjaro Airport for onward flight arrangements. (B/L)

We recommend taking soft sided holdalls as this can be transported more easily in the 4x4 vehicles. Excess luggage can be left in Arusha (a local nominal charge may apply).
