We booked this Hotel well in advance of our trip based on a family recommendation, and we were not disappointed. Situated in Wanchai it’s about a 15minute drive from the Central District, but a free shuttle bus provided by the Hotel provided access to and from their. I’m not sure how it compares cost wise, as Hotels in Hong Kong vary in price by their location and size. Again, as we have found throughout our journeys through Asia, the staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke enough English for us to be able to communicate well. Breakfast was of buffet style, and being a popular hotel it was busy at peak times. Drinks from the bar were reasonably priced compared to some more central locations in the City, with two spirits and mixers costing around £16. For us it’s location, and with easy reach of the Central District, and a vast array of Metro Lines made it a good location for a base. Read less

The first night we got in we checked into our room and found out it was small for us so we went down and spoke to Joyce Lin & she was very approachable and accommodating. Turned out it’s what we wanted & with no problem she got it all sorted in the same night & let us move into the new room! The hotel knew it was my sisters birthday through our booking agent so with no problem they organised a cake and brought it out for us. Big thanks to Matthew AGSS & Eric AGSM for bringing the cake out & taking a photo for a memory. Housekeeping was also very accommodating. Big thanks again to Joyce Lin / Matthew AGSS / Eric AGSM & Housekeeping. Read less

Staff were fantastic & location good , but rooms were very small and nowhere to put your luggage. Close to train station. Hotel restaurant was very nice food but expensive, beer and wine extremely pricey

Really enjoyed my visit if the races was on it would be even better as it’s a smidge out of the way, I need to start by saying the level of customer service here is second to none, I don’t think I have experienced better service each and every time. The only down side for me is my room on the 19th faced the back where the room windows were tinted as it overlooks a cemetery apparently, must be a cultural thing to do this but I’d rather have a view of something then nothing. Room was very nice with a great shower and comfy bed. Book through the website and you can get breakfast and a drink included. Plenty of breakfast options but mostly caters for Locals, ie a lot of noodles, vegetables, soups, I didn’t love it as a western from AUS, but hey when In Rome....be careful a pint in foyer is $98 including service charge in hotel so $20 ish AUD, never seen a more expensive alcohol in ANY place I’ve been to around the world. It’s a very small bar sitting in the foyer so it’s slightly awkward. I’d have it on an upper floor with a view - just an idea. If your going to the races then this place would be the bees knees to stay at as it’s across the road. There is a small bar directly in front of hotel about 5 min walk using underpass called Derby’s, didn’t go in but looked ok, drinks from 3. If having a beer or drink is your thing then I strongly recommend walking down to Wan Chai ( Lockhart Rd ) and get happy hour drinks from 5pm, before this time or after about 9-10pm prices are insane, not sure why I think it’s local taxes on alcohol. It’s a great time to travel to HK even with the riots on, tourism is down like 60% and its harsh to say but everything you do here is very expensive and I think the economy needs a wake up call here I.e reduce prices across all facets of tourism, also the riots which did affect me while here but didn’t bother me to much it just limited your options as most places were closed. The star ferry for $2.70 each way is very cool to go across to Kowloon, I got it back to Central and walked back to hotel. Enjoy Overall I would come back for sure, didn’t use the shuttle service but looks like a great idea as it’s so hot. Read less
