We’ve just returned from our second stay at The Mira. We were in HK for eleven nights and for the most part had an excellent stay. The location is fantastic - a short walk to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station and surrounded by shops and restaurants. The proximity to Mira Mall is a real bonus, with some good dining options if the weather is bad or you don’t feel like going far. The rooms are nice, although they are starting to show their age a bit - our sink/vanity area had some stains and chips which we found a little disappointing. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and there were a good number of power outlets and a USB charging hub was provided as standard. The room was very clean and we had no complaints regarding the housekeeping service. We did have to ask for more hangers for the wardrobe as only a few were included - and we were only given a few more when we asked so had to hang multiple items of clothing on each hanger which wasn’t ideal. The bathroom was great, particularly the shower which was large and had pretty good water pressure. Unfortunately the temperature control for the bath water didn’t work properly - even at the hottest setting the water was luke warm at best, whereas the water in both the shower and the sink is incredibly hot at higher temperatures. All the staff we interacted with were extremely courteous and pleasant, and were more than willing to help in any way possible. The portable 4G WiFi device that is provided to guests is very useful when exploring the city, and is an improvement over the complimentary phones that were available on our last visit. I would suggest avoiding the buffets at Yamm which I’ll review separately, but the Sunday Brunch was particularly disappointing considering the price. There were literally no breakfast options available at all, so calling it brunch is quite misleading. Breakfast was ok but not up to the standard we would expect given the price and our experience in similar hotels elsewhere. On the other hand, the in-room dining breakfast options were very good and much more reasonably priced. Despite these small faults we both very much enjoyed our stay and we’d certainly consider returning on future visits to Hong Kong. Read less

I chose Mira to stay mainly because I was attending the HK marathon and Mira is right in front of the starting point. I was using my Marriott points to redeem the room. I chose the most basic room and the size of the room is reasonable. I arrived around 6:30pm, the Check-in procedure is smooth and staff was friendly. Mira claimed himself as a design hotel. The main design theme using lots of black colour everywhere and it makes the hotel lobby/corridor even room interior are dark and uncomfortable. Toilet and shower place is reasonable size and no bath tub provided in my booked room category. One of the disappointment of the bathroom is the wash basin. It was painted white, I don't know why it's not ceramic basin. Maybe it's got cracks and the white paint is just a temporary solution before the basin replacement. There are loosen paint and dirts r surrounded the loosen areas, really an unpleased moment when I look at those dirts area to brush my teeth. Checking out got another unpleased moment, I was queue up and waiting. Another customer can easily go into my queued counter because there is a big column to block the sight of different customers as well as they didn't put queue up line to separate different service counter. I'm not blaming the other customer and it's totally the hotel service arrangement problem. Lastly, please request your staff "Don't speak Mandarin to all Chinese customer at very first approach", personally I don't speaks mandarin and you may use your mother language (cantonese) and English. Mira may lost of your identity as local Hong Kong service provider. Read less

Stayed here for my 2nd time on a business trip through Asia. Location wise, this hotel is really in the centre of Tsim Sha Tsui (Kowloon). Lots of restaurants, shops and bars around and can walk easily to the waterfront with views of the harbour. Although this is not a Marriott or Starwood property, it belongs to the Design Hotel group which has a partnership with Marriott. As a platinum premium member that means I could enjoy the points and the possible upgrade, but could not access the executive lounge or have free breakfast. I received an upgrade to one of the suites, which was spacious, especially for Hong Kong standards. Loved the bathroom and rainshower. The bedroom and living room were fine, but could tell it was showing signs of aging. There were glass rings on the wooden furniture and the nightstand and the wooden floor was not in the best shape anymore. It felt a bit dated. The bed was very comfortable though and overall had a good rest. In terms of service I felt there was staff that were very friendly and tried to do what they could to assist, but there was other staff that clearly was not very motivated or friendly even. It really seemed hit or miss. One example is that I had an evening flight out and asked for a late check-out. As a platinum premier member you have the right to a 4pm check-out if available. The day of my checkout was Valentine's Day and several staff I asked for a late check-out said it was impossible because all the suites were booked. I asked if I could move to a smaller regular room for half a day to get changed and take a shower, but that was not possible because all those rooms were booked as well. I typically would make no issue of it and I didn't, but then I found out that my colleague, who has a lower status with Marriott than me, did get a late checkout till 4 pm from his suite without any problem. This was just one example of the inconsistency in service that I experienced. Some staff was very friendly and helpful. Others were almost rude and dismissive. Although we had a decent stay, I believe for the price we paid, there are better alternatives in Hong Kong. Read less

Very trendy, everything was grey or black, very big and confusing hotel. Expensive restaurant and very noisy. We did have our breakfasts in the restaurant which was a buffet style and it was very nice but 50 quid for a breakfast is expensive. Can’t complain about the room or staff, all very nice, clean, and helpful but I would’ve much preferred the island rather than Kowloon side. So busy and noisy. Read less

There is adequate storage areas. They offer complimentary bottles of water and offer a mini bar with room in the refrigerator to put a few items of your own. The bed is huge and very comfortable. The location is great. You can reach two malls from the hotel elevator so shopping and restaurant choices are numerous and nearby. Right across the street is Kowloon Park which is worth a saunter. The buffet breakfast is excellent with multiple fresh juice choices like mango ginger, a variety of coffee and tea choices and a wide range of both western and eastern choices including made to order omelets, fruit and cereal choices, smoked salmon and other fish and meat choices as well as a variety of breads and rolls. The staff was both friendly and efficient. You can’t go wrong with this hotel Read less
