The Murray Hong Kong, A Niccolo Hotel

Hong Kong, China

The hotel

Making the 'Best Hotel in Hong Kong - Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2018, The Murray, Hong Kong isn’t just an historic landmark – it’s a star player on today’s hotel circuit. That’s partly because, when Foster & Partners transformed this conservation building into a contemporary city pad, they created some of Hong Kong’s biggest guest rooms, with most spanning more than 50m2. The private arrivals courtyard and afternoon teas in the Garden Lounge may seem a far cry from Central Hong Kong’s buzz, but the rooftop restaurant quickly reminds you The Murray’s within ten minutes of its business and leisure hubs.

Nice hotel probably best situated for business meetings (right between Central and Pacific Place). Rooms are really nice and spacious, however I would not recommend the restaurants - not bad, but nothing great - much better options nearby.

Highly recommended Excellent services, my husband had a wonderful birthday. The room is clean and spacious. The location is convenience, adjacent to Hong Kong park and Central. The view of the restaurant is very good, the food is delicious.

This hotel deserves all the critical acclaim it gets and would not hesitate to stay again in a heartbeat! This hotel deserves all the critical acclaim it gets and would not hesitate to stay again in a heartbeat! Visited in early November 2019 after ~5 months of protests in HK but protests did not get in the way of our stay at all (except the zoological gardens were shut as a precaution). We booked a standard room but were offered to upgrade to a Signature Suite for HK$1000/night and this is incredible value. 75m2 with great views. The hotel was all done in 2018 and the room standard is just top notch- marble bathroom, super fancy Japanese toilet, complete blackout blinds (incredibly handy for our 8 month old!) Also the hotel and staff were super attentive and considerate- they had a baby cot, bath, baby toiletries, nappy bin, bottle warmer and sterilizer all in our room ready upon arrival. Wow!! The hotel is barely 100 meters from the Peak Tram central station which makes it super handy to roll out of bed and get up to Victoria peak early before any queues form. Also the pool is big and really nice and we had it all to ourselves! Photo is of the view from our room as well as the pool. Read less

We stayed at the Murray for four nights and it was our first visit to Hong Kong. The hotel is in a perfect location for first time visitors as it’s located within walking distance of all the main attractions and night life on Hong Kong Island. It’s also about a five minute walk away from the Peak Tram station. The hotel is very chic and our room was definitely one of the nicest I have ever had. A lovely glamours marble bathroom great toiletries and lots of space a and storage. Really modern touches like USB ports next to each side of the bed and a Blue Tooth bar to connect your music to. The staff were polite and knowledgeable about the local area and there was always plenty of drinking water in the rooms and in the hotel lobby although this was in plastic bottles and by the end of our stay we had acquired quite a few of them. The room was extremely quiet and you couldn’t hear any other noise from the other rooms. The aircon didn’t make a sound either. The hotel has a great rooftop bar and we only used the restaurant once for a quick lunch before leaving. My only negative about the whole experience is only a small one but I think worth mentioning. When we ordered lunch we were given bread roles and one had bacon in it but they didn’t mention it until I had eaten a piece and realised for myself. When I told them about this they didn’t seem to be too concerned. Read less
