The hotel

The Centara Grand Resort & Villas Hua Hin boasts the most enviable location along miles of pristine beachfront and within walking distance to Hua Hin town. Originally named the Railway Hotel, the resort opened its doors in the 1920s and is one of the classic colonial hotels of the Far East. Situated on a fabulous beach and spread over several acres of beautiful gardens, the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin offers a wide choice of luxuriously appointed guest rooms and private villas, as well as a choice of restaurants and bars, four swimming pools and a wonderful Spa Cenvaree. In the centre of Hua Hin overlooking a 4-mile stretch of beach. Transfer time from Bangkok Airport: 3 hours.

209 rooms and 42 villas. Rooms are spread across the three wings of the hotel all with views across the manicured gardens or of the swimming pools or ocean. All rooms have balcony or terrace, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, flatscreen TV with International channels, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar* and safe. Deluxe Rooms have pool or garden views, with 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Half Board option: includes breakfast and dinner, with themed buffets in all outlets and special à la carte menus at the Railway, Suan Bua and Hagi restaurants.

Premium Deluxe Rooms offer more living space, with 1 king-size bed, twin beds or 2 double beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Premium Deluxe Club Rooms (The Club), sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Junior Suite Rooms (The Club) have spacious balconies and enjoy either garden or pool views, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Deluxe Suites (The Club) have a living area and garden/partial ocean views with 1 king-size bed plus extra bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Duplex Suites overlook the gardens or one of the pools, with 1 king-size bed in bedroom, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child.

Deluxe Spa Villas (The Club) are enclosed in private gardens, have their own villa host and outdoor Jacuzzi and 1 twin bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

The hotel had great facilities, and the pool and beach areas were amazing. The resort has an immaculately manicured 28-acre garden with animal-shaped hedges. It’s worth a stay just for the garden, in my opinion. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The beds were very comfortable, and the amenities were great. The location was perfect - close to the Hua Hin night market and Soi Bintabaht walking street. The breakfast was delicious and had a great variety of options. The hotel was beautiful, and the decor was period-themed yet still felt modern and comfortable. We had a minor issue during our stay and management was very professional and attentive in solving the issue. We would highly recommend it! Read less

We first came here in 2004, then 2016, 2017, 2018 and this year. We had another wonderful stay at this resort and the staff are phenomenal. D on Villas reception was an absolute joy! Ann who looked after us in our 4 villas was a dream and nothing was too much trouble. Nom in the railway was delightful and we caught up with Aoi in the railway on the last day who has always looked after us in the villas (so well) on previous trips. We missed Su who was the villa manager for years who has retired. The club service is not as good now at the villas as it was, especially as there is no breakfast on the villas side and the bar and food to the villa side in the day is very slow. The fruit, cold towels and big jugs of water have stopped too. The choice of drives at happy hour is reduced too. However saying that this hotel is still one of the best places we stay in the world. We are a little anxious to see how the villas will turn out after renovations and it’s sad we won’t ever visit as they are again after 5 times but it’s a reason to go back and try out the new ones and the hotel promised breakfast will be back at that side again!
