Thank you to all the staff at the Dorsett Wanchai for making our 2 (long) weeks of quarantine as pleasant as possible. Everybody was very helpful and quick at delivery what we needed. The rooms (connecting) were clean and the possibility to rent a microwave and a stationary bike make our stay more pleasant. Internet works very well.

Stayed at hotel during mandatory quarantine upon return to HK. Staff is extremely caring and helpful and has been very responsive to my requests. Breakfast is included and always timely, warm, and varied. Over NYE, staff delivered a bottle of Cham with a nice note wishing a happy new year and better times for all. Nice touch!

I am on day 8 of 21 and here are some points worth noting when picking the Dorsett Wan Chai for quarantine purposes. Positives: * Cleaning products such as dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, toilet cleaner, new toilet brush, cloths & dishcloths were provided. * Endless amounts of bottled water * Toothpaste & toothbrushes * Shampoo/conditioner & body wash * Tissues * Fresh set of sheets & towels upon arrival. Can be replenished when needed * Vacuum cleaner is provided when required * Decent wardrobe space * Hotel accepts food deliveries from outside * Bottle of bubbles was delivered to each room for New Years Eve which was a lovely touch * More senior staff are fluent in English and more willing to help out with requests * Windows can be opened * Great view out to the racecourse * WIFI is strong, haven’t encountered any problems * Heater was provided upon request Negatives * Floor looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed so requested a vacuum cleaner before we set ourselves up * Paper bowls & individually wrapped plastic utensils are provided (would be better to provide proper plates & utensils as washing detergent is provided) * Breakfast is appalling & options are not provided (Chinese style breakfast each day) * Hotel does not provide 3 meals as apparently stated by the government. According to the hotel, meals can be provided for an extra fee. I guess wording on the government website needs to be clearer. * Rooms are quite small (for my husband, baby and myself we booked adjoining rooms - any smaller would have been impossible) * Some staff could use a little more initiative rather than always transferring guests to other members of staff * TV channels are limited but most people have NETFLIX I would suggest taking Dettol cleaning wipes to clean before settling yourself as everything was quite dusty. I must say, all my encounters with staff via email before our arrival were replied to pleasantly and promptly. We must remember that these last minute rules and regulations set by the Government are a nightmare not only for guests but for the hotel staff as well. When I compare this quarantine to the one we have just completed in NZ, its a rip off! I think 3 DECENT meals should be provided for the price we are paying. Read less

The Hotel staff in Hazmat suits were very attentive and keen not to get too close. The Covid tests (for our family of 3) were orchestrated army style, and wind blowers were deployed to prevent our sacred breath from leaving the room during the Covid test. However, I can’t easily recommend brekkie although it did keep the weight down. This hotel did offer fantastic add-ons such as the Pro treadmill which kept us busy, and also the microwave. I wouldn’t recommend doing 21 days of quarantine without a kitchenette. The kitchenette was invaluable as was the microwave for preparing as near normal meals as was possible. The Smart TV’s in the room were ok, but given they were Samsung’s they weren’t Smart enough to communicate with our Apple devices. They didn’t offer many international channels and no English movie channels. We had to buy -in Netflix via Amazon Prime device which did do the trick on the larger TV in the lounge. However we did pay a little more than the usual rate for our suite at this hotel. Overall, this hotel performed its dedicated quarantine role well and we are grateful to the staff who did treat us brilliantly with gifts of Champagne for the New Year and wine from the staff.
