InterContinental Hong Kong

Hong Kong, Asia and Far East

The hotel

It really is worth upgrading to a Harbour View Room at this fantastic hotel, because it's the greatest view in Hong Kong, and one of the greatest in the world. All contemporary rooms have 37" Sharp Aquos TVs, Bose DVD home entertainment systems, iPod/iPhone docking systems and "Handy" Smartphones, plus 24-hour butler service, round-the-clock in-room dining and concierge services. During your stay, try a signature “V-Sip Cocktail” in the stunning Lobby Lounge, the most spectacular place to watch the nightly 'Symphony of Lights' show, on Victoria Harbour. The hotel also offers outstanding dining options- all with stunning harbor views from THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill and NOBU to the 2-Michelin star Yan Toh Heen featuring exquisite Cantonese Cuisine and an Rech Alain Ducasse restaurant. The buffet in Harbourside Restaurant is probably the best in town, and service throughout the hotel is top notch. The superb range of facilities includes a large, heated outdoor swimming pool and the feng shui inspired I-Spa which offers Oriental healing and jet-lag relief treatments, plus the unique infinity spa pools overlooking the harbour.

The Intercontinental is well located in Tsim Sha Tsui, within walking distance of many restaurants and two MTR stations. Good check-in: I arrived early, but the front desk arranged for a speedy making up of my room whilst I was waiting in the aforementioned lounge. Very good stay overall, even standard rooms provide plenty of comfort and space. On that occasion, the price quoted was quite reasonable, which definitely made The Intercontinental a great option. Awesome hotel, friendly staff and walking distance from everything. Will definitely be my hotel choice if I go back to HK. Roman, the Asst Front Office manager is one of the best people I've ever met in this industry.

I did the Couple’s Escape Spa experience at I-Spa. Their treatment has given me a rash all over my upper body that has left me with red, lumpy, swollen skin and unable to sleep comfortably. They blamed it on the detoxifying properties of the ginger scrub, but I wasn’t given a choice of scrub even though the spa menu said I would. If given the… Read more
I did the Couple’s Escape Spa experience at I-Spa. Their treatment has given me a rash all over my upper body that has left me with red, lumpy, swollen skin and unable to sleep comfortably. They blamed it on the detoxifying properties of the ginger scrub, but I wasn’t given a choice of scrub even though the spa menu said I would. If given the choice, I definitely wouldn’t haven’t chosen a scrub that would have had potential to do this to my body. This has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had - I went to relax and improve my skin, but now my skin is completely damaged. If you’re reading this, I suggest you never go to their spa and save yourself from an unnecessarily horrible experience. Read less

Good old Intercontinental. An iconic hotel occupying an excellent water front location. Despite having The Peninsula diagonally opposite, it holds its own. Nowadays, the trendy Rosewood Hotel is just next door, but Intercontinental remains to be one of my favorite hotels in Hong Kong.
