Even though there were only less few rooms occupying the hotel, not a second we were left behind. Hotel employees took care of us very well, especially Bu Agung in Jimbaran Garden restaurant. As well front office and housekeeping, all were so thoughtful. Not to forget the complimentary chocolate cake for my boyfriend's birthday was delicious! Thank you again for the amazing service, especially allowing early check in to decorate a birthday surprise. So happy to have stayed here! Read less

First, the positives: -This hotel is beautiful. Our room was wonderful, the pool, property grounds, and beach were all lovely. -The hotel is near the airport (although far enough for noise not to be an issue) so you get to watch the planes take off and land over the water. It's especially fun to watch at sunset from a nice spot on the beach. -The… Read more

It's especially fun to watch at sunset from a nice spot on the beach. -The breakfast was great and had endless options. -The seafood restaurants nearby are fantastic. -The happy hour lounge was nice. And room for improvement (this basically all just comes down to the hotel being too big to run effectively): -This hotel might be too big for our taste. It was difficult to navigate and we spent far more time than expected trying to find our room or the right building. With so many buildings, some signs might help. The frustration was amplified after stepping on some broken glass. -With so many people at the hotel, it was often difficult to find a lounger to enjoy the pool and/or beach. We were told we were there during shoulder season and the place was quieter than the previous months. -Check in was difficult and took over an hour. Again, probably just too many people. -Communication with staff was inconsistent. -The bars and restaurants onsite were incredibly expensive. Read less

This was our second stay, and the return trip did not disappoint. I would say, dollar for dollar, this is one of the best bets for a beach resort anywhere in Southeast Asia. This was our second stay, and the return trip did not disappoint. I would say, dollar for dollar, this is one of the best bets for a beach resort anywhere in Southeast Asia. It strikes a terrific balance between logistics (proximity to airport, shopping etc) and privacy. Some of the rooms had just been redesigned and we were fortunate enough to stay in a new one. Very tasteful and lovely. The food is VERY good, with breakfasts being especially nice. So many choices, and in contrast to other places with such a variety, all the items were fresh no matter when we ate. The Teppanyaki restaurant was also excellent as was the beach-side restaurant. The breakfasts were so good that often we opted for only one meal later in the day. The staff is wonderful....truly friendly and accommodating. The report also has the excellent idea of hosting a 'mixer' for the guests so people had a real opportunity to mingle and make friends. The pre planned activities (arts, tours etc) were also very nice. Anything wrong with the location?...not really. I was a bit surprised at not receiving an upgrade as a Spire Ambassador member but at least we received a refurbished room. My only gripe would be that the staff is so attentive, it can be a bit much during meals. We generally took breakfast early: so that that meant staff outnumbered guests in the breakfast area 3 to 1. Inevitability all the staff would make their way to the table to say hello, ensuring 15 interruptions per meal. Hard to complain about too much attention, but sometimes (especially when in a couple) a bit of privacy can outweigh refills of every liquid in 5 minute intervals. :-) All in all, a top choice - to get even a bit more luxury, you'll have to pay MUCH more. A 5-min drive took us to the Jimbalan Beach to find various seafood restaurants, with dining tables along the seaside. Randomly we went in a restaurant, selected seafood (lobsters, fish 'n mussels) to be grilled. It was 6 pm when dusk drew close for us to see colourful clouds at sunset. A heavenly environment, with diners praising the amazing nature joined by the rising moon. Luckily we did not experience scam at dinner. To our surprise the entire evening at the Jimbalan Beach was free from unpleasant encounters. The expenses, food/beverage satisfaction, view, chit-chats 'n weather were all satisfying. Sweet and memorable. Read less
