First, let's disabuse ourselves of any notion that this property is a resort. It is not, to my mind. Rather, it is a hotel which sits atop a sprawling western style shopping mall. It has 2 restaurants, a large open bar area, and an embarrassingly small pool. It sits in a wildly busy area of Bali which offers essentially nonstop activities within a short walk. It does not sit on the beach and offers no beach services whatsoever. So, one must keep this in perspective because the description "Beach Resort" conjures specific imagery which this property lacks.
Also, there is an aggressive security protocol implemented at this property which calls for all bags, luggage, purses, shopping, etc... to be airport styled screened, xrayed and inspected. Along with individual bodyscreening at every instance upon entering the property. Indeed, security is rather tight throughout the whole of Bali but, it is particularly intrusive at this property and should be considered before selecting a stay at this location. I stayed in two other properties on the island during this visit and was not subjected to anywhere near the level of screening as at this property. So, one must ask before reserving, is it worth the inconvenience to be so close to the "Times Square" of Bali with limited onsite amenities and no beach services, in a vacation place known for its beautiful beaches. If you want to party, drink, and engage in raucous offerings close by, this location could very well be for you. However, if you prefer a quieter stay, lounging poolside, relaxing on the beach, with frequent swims in the sea with great service options and safekeeping of your personal effects, I would suggest you choose a property in other areas of the island: Seminyak, Nusa Dua, or even Jimbaran, which all have far more impressive offerings at similar price points with less difficulties in service and comfort.
I would also suggest that you not expect too much as regards elite upgrades, and/or amenities because to my horror, this was the very first time I've received a downgrade at check-in masquerading as an elite upgrade. So, my reserved deluxe ocean view room became a basement suite with a view of a walking path. Somewhat akin to being upgraded from an exit row aisle seat in economy class to a middle seat in economy plus. At the end of the day, not an upgrade at all. Which, sadly, exemplifies this property, not at all an upgrade. Of the three weeks spent here, my most pleasant days were those not spent at the Sheraton Bali Kuta.

Located exactly across Kuta Beach and beside Beachwalk Mall (one of the best shopping mall in Bali), staying 2 nights at this hotel was another unforgettable experience for us. The check-in process is pretty quick despite of the queues in front of us; and the front office staff was spry to lead us to available sofa and let us sit while we were waiting.
As for room, we got a beautiful beach-view room on the second floor, where all the facilities (spa, gym, and swimming pool) are located at this floor. The room is quite spacious and clean. It has a separated bathtub for soaking and relaxing. The bed is pretty wide and adequate for couple traveler like us. Also, in the room, we were provided with sandals for beach activities; and 4 bottles of mineral water every day, sufficient for our daily need.
The next day during breakfast, we got a surprise from the guest relations team. There was this guy approaching us and greet me by my last name. His name is Dhika and he brought us a fruit platter with a writing that says “Thank you for your loyalty” and my full name. Thus, I want to thank the guest relations team, especially to Dhika for the care and very good service during our stay. The food served during breakfast was very diverse and it was delicious.
We enjoyed sunset as we were relaxing with the fresh juice and tiramisu we ordered at Bene Italian Kitchen rooftop. Tasty dessert and Kuta Beach sunset view were truly unforgettable. The tiramisu is definitely a must try if you decide to visit this restaurant.
Then, on the next morning during our second day’s breakfast, we were welcomed by the Feast Restaurant staff by my last name. I am impressed of the staffs effort in remembering my name. Same as the first day’s breakfast, the food was again diverse and delicious.
Overall, we are very satisfied staying in this hotel and definitely will come back in the future if we ever visit Bali again. Thank you to all front office, housekeeping, Feast Restaurant, and Benne Italian Kitchen staffs, and also to Dhika from Guest Relations for the friendliness and very good service during our stay. You are the best guys!
Incredible service, yummy breakfast, and beautiful rooms

I am writing a review for my stay in April of 2019. The staff was SO awesome I made a note to write this review...and forgot....so here we are in December. Better late than never!
Location: Fantastic for a first time Bali visitor. I started in the jungle to stay around nature, and ended here in Kuta to be closer to the airport. I didn't care that it was "touristy". Would you go to Paris and not see the Statue of Liberty? Or skip Time Square in NYC? Exactly. While this area is super touristy and busy, it's close to the airport, beach, and lots of shops.
Ambiance: Gorgeous suite! Nice view of beach from the infinity pool.
Food: The breakfast buffet was FANTASTIC! Huge selection of eastern and western style foods. A lovely host named Ari was always super friendly and helpful with directions and questions before I started my day trips.
Spa: Beautiful space! Great full body massage.
Service: Impeccable. The staff caters to your every need. They remember your name, your preference, and provide super professional and friendly service 24/7.
Bonus: I made a major mistake leaving my US credit cards, cash, and my driver's licence (like why did I need it in Bali?) in the room safe. I flew to Bangkok for the next left of my trip, and felt so frustrated having left my valuables on an island so far away! Ketut Adi along with others at the hotel stayed connected with me through Whatsapp constantly until we found a solution. They were stuck with technical issues at the Best Western while trying to transfer my cash...and wouldn't give up. Everything worked out just fine in the end. They sent me a video of them shredding my blank checks and NY driver's license. This was a cheaper option than paying huge fees to air mail my belongings to me, and guaranteed no one would be able to use my checks or my old ID.
Thank you to ADI SAPUTRA, LING SIA, YOHANES SUBIMAN, YIDA SASTRAWAN, and especially KETUT ADI for helping me manage my personal belongings left in the hotel room safe.
Highly recommend a visit to this Sheraton in Bali!
Good location for first visit to Bali, I followed other reviewers :D. Fantastic Hotel staff. minor hiccups, not a resort

Stayed here for 5 nights mid November. I chose this because of reviewers' comments about the staff. I needed a self care birthday time and I read that the staff puts some effort for special occasions - sorry I took advantage :D and it was nice to come back and my room had a sweet greeting , a towel made tiered birthday cake, and a small birthday…

If you arrive during the day time or early evening you are greeted by Balinese dancers and music. I keep seeing them waiting to greet visitors (daily), so if you get a chance watch that instead of watching at other spots, venues, no need to wait for the one at the mall. They wear such lovely clothes :D
They lobby area has this nice waterfall, and then the reception area, both are opulent in a humble way somehow. I did find the spaces a bit too dim, moreso at night, maybe it is the ambiance they want.
Tons of places to have seats for sunset views - reception bar area, and pool deck area, and room block areas. Definitely very engaging to let you LOUNGE and CHILL and capture the ocean breeze.
Location: it is literally next door to the mall, there is a safe spot to get on and off Grab. However, there is no direct elevator or escalator from the Beachwalk Mall floor level to the ground lobby level. You have to go through a ball room to get to the elevator, which be warned can have some hidden mosquitoes.
Good spot for first visit to Bali to get oriented, and if you have a tour there's a very big driveway at the ground lobby area with seats while waiting.
The busy beach area is a 1 min walk across the street.
Room: We had the partial ocean view , they are all partial ocean view. Still wonderful to wake up and see the ocean and it is so quiet at 6 30 am/ 730 am :D
If you are used to a COLDER air conditioning you may be disappointed, but if you compare it to the exterior temperature and go in to the room, then you will just be happy you have 'cooler' indoor temperature.
Odd glassdoors in showers ( a past reviewer commented on this ) it just all see through between shower stalls and toilet, so odd because the glass door slides to one or the other. I think it would be better if they put some frosted part so there's semi privacy (lol I went with my mom so we kinda liked some privacy between us )
Lighting in the rooms are also seemingly dimmer at night, lower wattage, again maybe an ambiance thing of warm tones low lights.
Good beds and pillows, but we were tired from excursions, heat and good food :D, and we really needed the rest.
Food: Bene was quite good and service from one of the staff Meli was just right with attention and knowledge of the menu. I wasn't too impressed with the breakfast at feast, lol there were flies flying around, but I was told it's an island (??) by locals so flies here and there do happen.
Staff: Security is constant even from the Beachwalk Mall entry, which is actually good. The security personnel were always helpful to escort my mom to the lift after going through xray/ security. Cheerful and friendly, but maybe most Balinese are like that - laid back islanders as typical of most islanders around the world. 5 STAR!
We had a helpful concierge Ketut Adi who helped sort out some questions about trips et al, and also called DFS in the city about shopping and pick up at the airport.
I did wish they had more staff presence so that it is faster to get to the front desk safe access. It was a bit of a wait during peak afternoon check in arrivals mid evening.
Reception staff was also always helpful when we rang and had questions about hiring a car, and also about using the spa lockers when we go for a swim.
SPA LOCKER issue. Reception and also at the BONVEY app told us that we could use the spa lockers if there are availabilities while we are swimming. But when we did talk to the Spa Staff, they were insistent that it was not possible. We went at 9 am in the morning, there was the least probability the spa would be fully booked. I was surprised how the information was nor relayed by the reception desk when I called it in at 8 am that day to confirm. It was solved in the end when I showed the duty manager message in the BONVEY app. - Thus instead of attempting conversation comprehension and making the discussion complex, there was a higher degree of reading comprehension from the staff. That experience was not 5 star :(
But it still doesn't really solve future issues for people swimming because there is no locker in the swim area.
There is ONE shower stall, and ONE toilet per gender in the swimming area and NO lockers. AND THIS IS A 5 STAR RESORT?!!!!!! felt more like a public pool.
POOL: pretty small, little dipping around and soaking by the time there are 8 people in the pool. Nice infinity pool view against the setting sun.
Tons of lounging area in the pool and the adjacent areas by the rooms to see the sunset, however the palm trees and tall hedges can get in the way of the actual Sun setting view. But definitely quieter than the Beach area with all the noisy peddlers. LOL. There's no service at the pool, meaning if you are not oriented about what what, you will have to figure out where to grab a towel or leave it. Low tide, temperature , sunset times are posted in the pool area.
Odd location because you pass by the pool area to go down the very high obtusely angled stairhall down to the mall.
The turn down service is a bit confusing. The way I understand turndown is they kinda pull back some of the blanket so you can just slip into bed, and also put the slippers by the bed, and a bottled water and glass by the bed. Didn't quite happen, but there was turn down service.
Checkout: we called to have our bags brought down. This was something I only saw here. The porter went checked every shelf and cupboard from the bathroom and in the rooms after he got our bags to ensure we didn't leave anything. that's 5 star! :D
2 issues: our safe wasn't working and then another night we lost the power in our room. 5 STAR service from the engineering department. They were efficient and prompt. Fantastic. I had issues before in other hotels and I had to would wait 30 min or more and lose my travel time. here, nope they got things done to ensure you can maximize your leisure time :D hahaha.
Still overall, happy for my choice and service was stellar, even though this place isn't really a resort. Esp it was the same common spaces as The Stones at Legian which is also a Marriott company.
No currency exchange in house.
Spa massage services ( balinese and foot reflex ): it was just okay, didn't seem as spectacular as previous reviewers stated it to be.
