Wonderful 5 star hotel with the most amazing swimming lagoon surrounding the hotel rooms. We had a room with lagoon access which was amazing for our 10 year old daughter to jump straight into the lagoon and swim about. Whilst at the hotel, we took part in the Epicurian Journey which was a trip to the local fish market with one of the chefs followed by a 2.5 hour cookery class and then we got to sit at a beach front table and eat the results of our cooking class! Wonderful value for the 1,100,00 IDR which we paid per person. I have to also highly commend the wonderful concierge team at The Laguna. Our daughter lost a book on our incoming flight to Bali and Danu and Lydia went above and beyond the call of duty to find the book and get it returned to our hotel room. Overall, we cannot fault the Laguna in any way, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back very soon. Read less

The negatives I experience was that the room had a stale stuffy smell. The Butler sent someone immediately to do what they can which was great but then it was a strong lemon smell. Later the next day it was starting to smell better but the stuffy smell was coming back. The shower looked like it could use some fresh grout and paint. On the beach I didn’t see any service until about 1:30-2:00. I figured there would be menus and service but I had so go find someone at 12:30 for lunch. I asked about dinner in the restaurant that night and was told I probably didn’t need reservations. When I arrived at 8pm i had to wait a while for the host and it just seemed overwhelmingly understaffed. They said they were booked due to the other onsite restaurant being closed. Didn’t the concierge know this when i asked about dinner reservations? One lady was very sweet and noticed a table opened and sat me, but I waited 5min and no one came to take an order or give water. I went to find someone. They food was ok. I have really high expectations for anything 5 star. It really was a very good hotel but I would look at this more as a 4 star. Read less

Spent a week here at the end of our Honeymoon after traveling around Bali, very grand and luxurious resort in a well kept community of hotels. The hotel is very spacious with gorgeous tropical gardens and a variety of pools (salt & Fresh water), it has its own section of beach in the bay which was gorgeous. The room was fab, spacious and very clean with a huge TV and great bathroom, cleaned twice a day and fantastic room service. We used the gym while there and the facilities are great with steam, sauna too! We also enjoyed a couples massage treatment which was a fantastic massage! The bars and restaurants are lovely with a variety of food but after a couple of days you feel you've tried everything and so we ventured to the Bali Collection which is a short walk away/ shuttle. The hotel is quite expensive for Bali, a 3 course meal with the cheapest bottle of wine for two people would cost you between £80-£100 GBP, which is a lot for Bali and wouldn't say quality of food was better than other places we stayed that were less than half the price! Drinks are expensive, beers and cocktails also in comparison to elsewhere in Bali in other great hotels. Only gripes were that we weren't welcomed as a honeymoon couple and also the vendors on the beach are quite relentless and extremely annoying! We would give this place 5*s however we don't feel its value for money versus other places we stayed in Bali is quite justified - however we would go back! Read less

We came to Laguna after spending time in Ubud. This is a very different experience, here is an honest review. The gardens and grounds, including the picturesque salt water lagoons make this hotel what it is, they are beautiful. The lagoons round the edge of the resort are very peaceful, we spent all our time here as opposed to the central pools which were busier. Beach is also lovely. The food in KulKul bar and Arwana was great but very expensive, after paying a lot for the hotel it seemed everything was a lot extra. Breakfast buffet had a great selection and service was good. Cocktails were very average and overpriced, even during social hours, but nice in Arwana. Cornerstone deli was lovely for lunch but again overpriced. Thankfully our long stay discount of 35% made the pricing slightly more bearable, but £6 for a 330ml beer is still more than we would have liked to have paid! In my opinion the rooms let this hotel down, we had a lagoon access room which is hardly worth the extra money. You can access the pool via steps but the balconies only have 2 chairs so you can't really spend the day there, which sort of devalues the idea. The decor was very dated and bathroom not as described online, we had no bathtub. Housekeeping and bed turn down were always at very inconvenient times. The staff however were brilliant and always willing to help wherever they can. Special mention to Purna in KulKul bar and Mana in Arwana restaurant for making our last evening so special. All in all a pleasant experience but not the 5* we are used to. Perhaps we were spoilt in Ubud so Nusa Dua wasn't really the same experience for us. If you are looking for R&R, you will enjoy Nusa Dua. If you are after a bit more culture, recommend looking elsewhere. Read less
