The staff were all so friendly, helpful and attentive. Restaurant directly on the beach overlooking a surfers paradise, dramatic sea clean beach. Breakfast superb all served a la carte, lunch if required and dinner also. Important to choose a villa on the beachfront part of the Samaya report as the Courtyard villas are located around 300m away across and along a busy road and have nothing like the atmosphere. We certainly recommend Samaya Seminyak as a premium 5 star villa complex with great staff and great food. Thanks to all at Samaya for starting our 25th Anniversary holiday off so well and thanks also for the fabulous roses and complementary Royal Spa experience. Jon and Jan Read less

We spent 9 very relaxing days at The Samaya Seminyak and thus became very well acquainted to it's very welcomed opulence. The "rooms" are villas located within a hotel/resort so you have all the spacious decadence of your own pool, an absolutely huge bathroom area with an indoor and and outdoor shower, seperate toilet, two basins, plenty of space to clothes and a spa bath. The bedroom was a very comfortable king sized bed, TV and work area. In the sitting room was a comfortable sofa/day bed, fridge and another TV with tea and coffee making facilities. The final luxury was your own, quite reasonably sized, pool with another, outdoor, day bed along with a table and chairs. All this surrounded by 10 foot walls so once you closed the door to your courtyard it was complete and utter privacy. The hotel/resort itself is lovely, it occupies a reasonably large area but, being single story, it is does not really contain that many villas so even if it was full, there wouldn't be that many people about. The main pool is lovely, surrounded by more day beds which are plentiful and there were always several available. The hotel is absolute beachfront with a large, raised deck separating the resort from the beach with many a reclining beach chair to sit and watch the sea. Breeze restaurant is situated looking over the beach and the included breakfast was simply divine. It is a-la-carte, extensive with several western dishes but the, some permanent, some specials, "local" options were simply delicious. I dare say that they were a lot more decadent than usually served in local homes! We took the option of ordering breakfast top be delivered to our villa one morning so enjoyed our meal sitting around our own pool. We enjoyed the included afternoon tea sitting around the main pool, each day a selection of canapés, sweet and savoury, all delicious. The highlight of our stay was definitely the staff. Extremely professional but without being stuffy, very friendly, always available and always there without feeling like we were being watched or being permanently waited on. From suggestions for local restaurants, arranging transport, turn down service, cleaning rooms, tending to the lovely gardens, arranging towels on the day beds, it was all with a genuine smile and friendly efficiency. A special mention to Rutmini who exemplified the standard of service at The Samaya. The surrounding area is typical (tourist) Bali. Embrace it and you'll have a great time, find faults and you'll make yourself miserable. Seminyak Square is an easy walk as are many, many wonderful restaurants, from high end to local Warung. We had an absolutely lovely time staying at The Samaya, it is an amazing place, with amazing staff and we would (and already have) highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury escape. Read less

The villas are a great size with a huge bathroom and a fantastic pool. The staff is a real asset to this property. Special mention must go to Rutmini and Kamaya who were terrific. Breakfast each morning was great and there is a lot a variety on the menu. We dined at Breeze on two occasions and had two superb meals overlooking the sea at sunset. The hotel is perfectly situated in Seminyak to take advantage of all the great restaurants and bars. The spa was also great at we had a couple of excellent treatments. I really can't fault this hotel and look forward to returning next year. Read less

I’ve traveled for over 15 years all around the tropics and stayed in many different types of places, from run down hostels to 5 star resorts. In terms of accommodations, this hotel is the best hotel I’ve stayed in, period. We stayed in a beautiful villa with a private pool and giant bathrooms with outdoor and indoor showers and tubs. The private pool wasn’t just a little watering hole you can just sit in and that’s it. It was an actual 10 yard or so pool that you can swim in. The bed was huge and the bathroom was like our own private spa. So awesome! Immediately upon exiting the villa, we were greeted by a luscious green lawn with little cabanas and a beautiful infinity pool deep enough to actually swim in. The restaurant is right by the ocean so you can sit and enjoy your meal as you gaze out to sea and cool down with the breeze. The service was world class from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Everyone knew our names and out daily plans. It was like having our own personal crew of butlers available at all times without feeling overwhelmed or bothered by anyone. We’ve never experienced the level of service we experienced here. There are two main downsides. The first one is that the surrounding area is not very nice. You can’t swim in the beach because of the current and waves. Even if there were no waves, the water doesn’t look very appealing. This was a big disappointment for us as we were looking to spend our honeymoon relaxing by a nice beach. We were finally able to find that beach in Lombok and the Gili Islands so I highly recommend you spend some time there on your trip as well if the beach is important to you. The town of Seminyak is dirty, loud, and busy. You won’t be able to escape the constant noise of cars and motorcycles and all of the crazy driving around you. We went out one afternoon and felt so tormented that we promptly returned to the hotel after just 20 minutes. I don’t understand why Seminyak is so popular with tourists but alas, there are many people walking around and stores in the area. The beach is also dirty and the sand is not pleasant to walk on. Because of all this we just stayed in the hotel the whole time except when we went out on our tour of Uluwatu temple one evening. This is not a big deal as it was our honeymoon and we were more than happy to lounge by the pool and in our private villa but it would have been a problem if we were in Bali to actually travel and experience the local scene. Also, despite the bad beach, the sunsets from it are amazing! The second problem is that the gym is outside of the main building. You need to be escorted on a golf cart if you want to use it. Overall, this hotel is amazing. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a relaxing place in an otherwise hectic island. Read less

We have done Bali Villas in the past but this one had the space to make us feel special. The pool was massive but the bathroom was the surprise, truly something to enjoy. The breakfast by the beach is a heavenly way to start a day. Just be aware there are two properties, one on the beach, one down a laneway. Read less
