PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The hotel

Rubbing shoulders with Malaysian restaurants and global food chains, chic boutiques and intoxicating markets, and eclectic entertainment spots, PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur is simultaneously local and international. That’s also reflected in its décor, its amenities (like the high-speed internet and chic al fresco pool zone), and its dining venues, where Malaysian menus mingle with Japanese fine dining and Western favourites, including ice creams, cakes, and pastries at Hot Gossip. Just moments from Bukit Bintang monorail station, and near MRT and GO KL bus connections, you could explore KL with ease – but you’re also within five minutes’ walk of five major malls if you’d rather shop than sightsee.

Clearly a business hotel and lacking funding or desire to be renovated, let alone maintained, the rooms lacked any quality or refinement, even my bed had torn sheets. The location of hotel really was its only redeeming feature not that you would know as getting any info from the hotel staff was rather hard. Facilities very dated. Overall very disappointed and felt the main reason for being sold this property was, now come to think of it, the agents commissions. Read less

Clean, spacious room in a convenient location for shopping malls, street food area and transport options. Breakfast and dinnerwere good at the hotel and the staff were very helpful, particularly the concierge staff.

This is out fourth time staying at Park Royal, after our last experience here in 2017, which left a lot to be desired, I have no idea why we gave it another go. We were a party of 9, 6 adults, 3 children and we booked 3 deluxe rooms. We arrived at check in and were lucky to have been able to get 2 interconnecting rooms and another room all on the same floor. When confirming late checkouts we were advised that they were fully booked and could not accomodate us and we would hvae to wait until the day before checkout to see if they could assist. Alternatively they were happy to charge us a ridiculous amount of money to upgrade to a suite for our 6 hours. Needless to say we were not happy. We arrive in our room only to be greeted by one king size bed, no cot/no single bed for our 3 year old son. When asking for the extra bed they advised that I would have to pay almost $35 per night for a single rollaway bed. What a joke. We told them to provide us with the cot instead, which was better for my little runaway anyway. Breakfast is ordinary and if your not there beofre 9am forget about getting anything. They take their time refilling certain items and sometimes dont refil at all so if your late you miss out. Housekeeping would constantly only replace 2 towels for 3 people or 4 people, so we found ourselves constantly asking for towels. Room service was good cant complain about that. Pool side service was amazing due to a wonderful man named KID. He is wonderful and loves his job and making people happy and a mention to him must be made as he was the one who made our stay there lovely. Lobby bar was lovely too and the staff and singer were great as well. Fast forward to the day before leaving and we went to the front desk to ask for late checkout, well we ended up getting it but at a price, it cost us $165AUD. Rooms have not changed since 2010 when we first stayed here. They are tierd, worn and in desperate need of an update. Parkroyal, you have so much potential, you are in a wonderful location, but seriously get some front of house staff that smile and are nice, update your rooms, and stop charging a fortune for little things like late checkouts and single beds, and you would have a wonderful hotel. Would we stay here again, I am sorry to say NO! Read less

Good service, especially by the pool area where they had the dream team working! Nice breakfast buffet, omelets, Malaysian food, noodles, and European style breakfast. The location is perfect for shopping and more.
