At first glance it seems to be in the busiest part of Langkawi and too close to the flight path to the airport. The reality, however, is this is an hidden gem which is well organised and quiet. We had a good view of the beach and ocean from our room. The check in staff accommodated my mobility issues and change us to a ground floor room. The room was a very adequate size with good facilities. We were able to order room service for dinner each evening without any hassle or problems. The food was good with a wide choice available. All the staff are friendly. There are golf carts to transport luggage and people around the extensive site. We were able to walk out of room and straight down the beach for an ealry morning swim. The beach was very quiet all day but thos wanting excitement a short walk south along the beach gives easy access to many facilities. We will be returning in the autumn. A good sunscreen is essential as the temperatures are pretty constant all year - lots of sunshine and regular heavy downpours. The beach is cleaned every day. A fantastic experience. Read less

Everything others have said about the location, beach access, pool facilities, quality of staff, beach quality and restaurants, is indeed true. Especially the quality, hospitality and attentiveness of the staff is commendable. It is thus a shame that the rest of the property let us down completely. Our issues happened with the quality of the room itself and basic facilities and services. As others have mentioned, it is an old property, which is part of the charm of traditional malay style rooms, but the wiring inside needs to keep pace with time. In our case it seemed to have been stuck in the past. We stayed for 2 days in a sea facing / beach chalet - which is one of their preciously priced rooms - and spent most of the first 24 hours just having engineering staff over to our room or dealing with basic issues. First the aircon did not work and had to be repaired. That took few hours, which was already a poor start on a very hot day. Then there was no water in the bathroom during the night and next morning. That had to be repaired by installing a new pump the next day which took many hours for a team to do. Then the shower knob for switching the showers did not work. That was never repaired. Them room cleaning staff forgot to clean the room well until 3 pm despite putting up the sign in the morning. When that was done, they left behind cleaning items and other housekeeping stuff in front of our room door which stayed there till next day when we checked out! Buggy drivers in the property were not nice even though the rest of the staff is great. For the couple of rare times we needed to go from one end of the property to the other for accessing facilities, either the buggy guys would ask us to go to lobby or to call to pick up. But then when we did call, they would either not turn up or refuse to pick up saying they are going for some other task and the empty buggy would drive away. All in all just too many things going wrong one after the other. We tried our best to ignore some of these things as there is always some minor bits that go wrong with any property, but things just kept adding up, and as a whole it was a sub par experience. Its worth clarifying that all the room related issues were dealt with and resolved. But with all the phone calls and explanations and waiting and repeated discussions and repairs - it was a ruined holiday, especially given the hefty price charged for the room. We wanted a peaceful and comfortable holiday. Not a house-repair schedule! The rooms really need to be maintained with seriousness, especially when they come with such hefty charges. And the management should atleast have the courtesy to be fair with the tariffs when there are so many things wrong with the room. They fixed the issues but that had to be done anyways. But beyond that, there was no consideretion or discussion about the persistent inconvenience caused. We cannot recommend this property given our spoilt vacation, even though many of its aspects are quite promising, and we can see why others would have enjoyed their overall stay with none of these issues bothering them. Very flexible staff made it for a lovely stay, who were extremely accomodating to our requirements with young kids in tow. Friendly and always smiling, plenty of activities for kids. Of special mention were Qayum and Pratap from the pool and seaside restaurant who showed excellent customer experience and made the trip great for the kids. Hope the staff there is recognized for their efforts. Looking forward to our next trip. Read less
