The hotel is at the quieter side of the island (although nowhere is busy) and has the advantage of the most amazing beach /rain-forest location with fantastic wildlife in its natural environment. The best things were: Fantastic staff, always helpful and smiling. Shout out to concierge Alvin for all his help. Stunning wildlife, we saw sea otters, monkeys, monitor lizard, gecko, flying lemurs and all from sitting quietly in the hotel. Loved the coral nursery where the hotel are doing their bit for the coral after the destruction caused by the tsunami. Loved the band in the evening bar, great singer (Suzi?) who allowed us to join in karaoke style on a quiet evening. Worth getting a hire car (really cheap) as you are minimum ~30 mins drive from other attractions. Only downside is some of the restaurants are just too expensive, but that is not enough for me to mark the Andaman down form 5 stars. We cannot wait to return!! Read less

I was in dilemma whether I should be booking a hotel so far off from city centre but I am so glad we did. This hotel and its staff are just wonderful. Thoroughly professional and always willing to help. They do care for you and have a warm smile whenever they see you. We got an upgrade to a room with direct access to private pool and it was a big cosy room for couple as well family with kids. Well stocked room with toiletries, TWG Tea, Bath robe and slippers. Nice comfy bed and magazines with recipes from the best hotels in the world – I loved reading it. You will have a feeling of staying amidst nature with the sea being few footsteps away. Resort has several activities like Nature walk, cooking, snorkeling and all are free ! Check for the timings and book your slot. You can pay a small amount to do watersports or just chill by the beach and sip your drink. We went during the easter and they had a great buffet with scrumptious spread. Breakfast is vast with plenty of local and western choices. Normal restaurant food however is not great and they might want to look at this aspect. The staff at restaurant is helpful and friendly. Special shout out to the Bar staff who made the Kasturi Cocktail for me after I spotted their recipe in the Food Magazine. We couldn’t get a slot in the spa as it was fully booked but don’t give it a miss. The setting itself is so nice that it would relax you in jiffy. Easy to book a local cab from airport and reach the hotel but if you have a early morning flight then advisable to take a hotel cab. Kids can stay fully entertained with activities curated specially for them. Thanks to the wonderful staff working tirelessly to make the stay experience at Langkawi special and memorable. Read less

Good: quite private beach. Nice swimming pool, beach is decent, nice room. Bad: hopefully our experience is one off and not how "Luxury collection" by Marriott really is. While we stay, they have private dinner reception, 2 out of 4 restaurant were closed. It took over an hour to wait for dinner which we prepared to wait but what they serve is not acceptable by any 5 star hotel standard. The pasta was bland and the sauce was watered down. I don't think it was even salted and there was barely anything. The Nasi lemak was really below standards because we were only given 2 pieces of chicken which was as small as a chicken nugget the portion was unequal, there were a whole bowl of rice whilst only 2 pieces of chicken nuggets. Disappointed. Read less
