This Shangri La is close to the airport, which save you travel time. The resort has all the normal facilities but the restaurant isn’t that nice. For food, better get the Grab and go to city center, which is 15 mins away.

A Resort that offers everything for my family and I. Period of stay: March, 2020. Purpose of stay: School Holiday Our room: Originally booked a Kinabalu Wing Seaview Twin room (high Floor), I get a complimentary upgrade to Tanjong Pool View (ground floor) but ultimately moved to Tanjong Pool View (High floor). Pros: 1. Easy check-in and check-out process, we arrived in the evening around 3pm and the room is ready. We went straight to the room after checking-in and the room is gorgeous. We loved the gong sound during our arrival, felt welcomed already! 2. The room design is superb. Bath tub in the bathroom is a plus. We loved the balcony with pool and sea view as it is simply amazing! 3. Staffs were extremely friendly, from the concierge to the reception as well as housekeeping and the restaurant. The staffs at the Cool Zone were great. 4. Breakfast spread is good, the menu selection was not as many as our previous stay as may be low occupancy because of the covid-19 concerns. But we enjoyed the breakfast anyway as it was sufficient. 5. The Cool Zone area is spacious! All of our children had a good time here. 6. The pool are is extremely amazing. It has 3 sections, several pools for adults and kids as well as water slides. To sum it all, all of us really enjoyed here. 7. The resort is pretty well-maintained despite it's age. 8. My wife and I had a romantic dinner at Coco Joe's a year before also brought my family on Valentine's day. This time we had lunch and we enjoyed every minute of'em. 9. Our check-out process was a breeze. Rheanna (If not mistaken) gave me a speedy checkout and warmly asked me to extend my stay as she saw my children not really satisfied with this 2-night stay (oh I wish!). Cons: 1. Our upgraded room was very spacious and literally just steps away from the pool, but later on we noticed the strong smell of paint (maybe thinner). I tried to leave ventilate the room by opening the glass door to the balcony. The intensity of the smell weakens after half an hour the I closed the doors and turn on the AC. Later on at night, the smell became stronger again and it made my children and I felt quite uneasy to breathe. I decided to make a complain, they ultimately moved me to the higher room on midnight. Baharom showed me a way to a new room, he was pleasant and warm throughout. We loved the original room we got, but have to be satisfied with a replacement room. The Guest Service Manager (Babarom Madris) gave me an apology card to compensate my unpleasant feeling and it worked really well. Summary: All members of my family enjoyed our stay this time, perhaps better than our previous stay on 2019. Looking forward to stay here again! Read less

Fabulous hotel with wonderful views of sunsets. Staff were fantastic especially in the face of the evolving Codid-19 outbreak. Due to the virus the hotel was very quiet which made the use of the faciloities very easy to enjoy. The hotel room was very good with a great view of the sunsets, will definatley return in better times.
