We have just been to Doubletree for 4 nights. The hotel wasn't fully functional due to Covid-19, but we were certainly very warmly welcomed and we were very glad to be back there. There was a lower number of staff overall in the hotel, also due to Covid cutbacks, but they were all managing very well. That was very noticeable at breakfast in Makan Kitchen, which was very busy at the weekend due to the people taking advantage of staycation rates. Breakfast has fewer choices and is an "assisted" buffet but the staff are very helpful and quick to respond to needs, and the food is just as good. Yes, we look forward to returning. Read less

Centrally located in KL and adjacent to a shopping mall. Near to LRT train station and walking distance to KLCC Breakfast is okay, need to choose from the menu as it is not a buffet due to COVID-19 The breakfast service is fair and drinks took most of the time. I guess the staff need to walk back and fro quite a distance.

Stayed on Aug 30-31. It’s a long weekend for Malaysians alongside with the Merdeka public holiday. I have both good and bad reviews. I’ll start with the good ones. Booked a ‘high floor deluxe king bed’ room at a fairly good price for 3 persons. Price was inclusive of breakfast for 3. The room is amazing and in this current situation, the room is cleaned and sanitised at its best. Loved the smell when I walked in for the first time. It has my confidence especially during this Covid-19 season. I got the room on Level 22 (not sure if this is considered a “high floor” but anyway) and I got the city view. City here means, the Datuk Keramat side, not the Citibank / KLCC side. But I guess that’s way better than getting a room facing another building / wall. That’d be frustrating. The room is fantastic and worth it. Location is good! Near the Ampang Park LRT station. And requested another towel and yeay, it’s free! For breakfast - we were given a time slot to choose from as it was long weekend (Merdeka) and a big crowd is expected, so it’s a good thing to do for crowd control. As part of the SOPs, we had to queue and get the crew to “pick and serve” the food from the buffet line. We were seated properly, means there’s no random seating and I really liked the arrangement. Hassle free. And most importantly, the food was great! No issues for the breakfast. Now here comes the not so good part. The check-in queue was unbelievably crazy and the queue will drive you mad! I arrived at 15:10 and had to queue for 45 mins to check in! By the time it was almost my turn, I turned back and the queue was crazy and way longer as compared to when I reached. I wonder how long it will take for the last person in line to check him/herself in though... It was a long weekend, a big crowd is expected but the super long queue for check-in was totally unbelievable and unexpected! Overall, it was a good stay! I’d give a 5 stars if it wasn’t for the check-in queue. Sorry! Read less
