I thoroughly enjoyed the Premier Suite very much - the bathtub was great for soaking in to watch TV on the wall and the office desk came with a printer - literally a godsend for me that day with urgent documents to be printed. The Dedicated Whatsapp line (for Horizon Club guests) was truly useful especially with my hearing disability - all my requests were attended to with swift responses and efficiency by the staffs (I think that is what truly sets Shangri-La apart from other hotels). I also had a nice time at the Horizon Club (a wonderful perk for those staying in Horizon Club Rooms and Suites)- the staff were very friendly and took care of us very well; the foods were delicious and the cocktails were good. Horizon Club is a really nice place to enjoy nice foods, wines & cocktails and service. The Lobby Lounge chairs especially by the glass walls are surprisingly comfortable. and I had a nice breakfast there although I really wish I could have it at Lemon Garden Restaurant (the buffet spread is extensive and legendary). Zipangu has really good bento boxes - filling and delicious (you can utilise your GC membership to get discount here). The checkin staff was very helpful - she remembered to write on paper to communicate with me and I was especially pleased to know we could check out really late so it felt like a whole two-days and nights staycation. We often check into Shangri La Hotel when we face Water Disruption. So far, this is our 2nd staycation this year. The service was excellent as we paid for Horizon Club service. Sadly, there were hardly any residents so most of the restaurants & Horizon Club were closed as I understand it did not make economic sense to stay open.

Our first visit to SRL was an afternoon tea at Lobby Lounge. Then we decided to have a staycation in SRL. The moment I met the personnel that greeted me with happy smile, I knew I was going to fall in love with SRL, and I did! The hospitality provided by the hotel staffs was commendable. The suite we stayed was spacious with a working station, a separate living area and the comfortable large bed. The ensuite marble bathroom was marvelous. I like the two basins, one for me and one for him. I enjoyed my time in the bathtub while watching the TV. Oh yes, they have a TV in the bathroom. The premium toiletries provided by SRL was lovely too. We had our afternoon tea and cocktails with canapes in the Club Lounge. The staffs were courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet at Lemon Garden was delicious with many choices available. Overall, we had a wonderful staycation in SRL. We will be back for birthday and anniversary celebration ;) Read less

Hosted mom birthday there because she loves crabs and seafood. Lots of mix reviews were found and we nearly want to change venue. So, called Evon from management office to try to get further details on what is actually being served. She get this amazing lady called Cik. Rini to get back to me. Rini was amazing with her PR, tagful and was very precise on her description on buffet items. Today, we actually found most of the negative reviews could be personal attack due to personal attention (probably). Being an ex cabin crew in MH for 26 years and a customer service certified trainer/consultant, I would say they are good. Politeness since we entered the hotel till we left was widely practice with smiles on their faces although it's busy. Promt attention to all tables on clearing and refilling of beverages. Can hardly hv my glass empty. Food selection is great with multi racial selection. Only set back was they control yr portion per plate which is pretty subjective. Exp, I don't fancy crab etc but prefer oyster. I can only take 3 per serving and walk again if want another 3. I would prefer to hv 5 and enjoy it at one go before moving for other choice. Anyway, it's their policy and not a big deal. What's is great! The satay chicken is as close as you can get in Malaysia Airlines. It very similar. I can hardly get that elsewhere beside MH. The sambal prawns taste delicious with the nasi beryani which is not oily. Chinese choice of soups was good. My family enjoyed the mud crab and prawns very much. Desert selection is average except for in-house ice cream is superb. Sadly no hot beverages station available. Staffs mending our area were great. Monica, a senior staff of about 30 years. Fadzil was very attentive and addresses guest by name. Arnie, a senior supervisor if not mistaken (short hair lady in blue uniform)and Rini took the trouble to wait for us for a chat. I was surprised to discover that she started at 7am in the morning and took the trouble to meet us. I'm honoured by her sincererity, pride and ethics being put in her duties. I hope to return with family and friends again. It's a wonderful evening with great service. Keep it up! Read less
