Just visiting the meritus pelengi resort langkawi and may I say what a beautiful place this is the staff are wonderful and so helpful always a smile and a warm greeting from the house keeping staff through to the concierge the views from the hotel are outstanding and the private beach of white sand is kept pristine. The breakfast particularly at the cba is well presented and a great variety to suit every taste. They have a buggy service that will take you to your chalets which are designed in traditional malay style although the meritus was the very first hotel to be built in langkawi it still maintains the five star service you would expect from a five star hotel. The atmosphere is relaxed and although a very busy hotel nothing is too much trouble for them. The chalets are very clean and roomy and well maintained. The grounds are absolutely stunning and well kept by the grounds people who work very hard maintaining them I will give the meritus pelengi which means rainbow a five star rating because they want you to have a rainbow experience for your stay well done to all the staff and management for my outstanding stay will definitely been visiting again. The staff at the reception was very observant and assisted me who looked like a lost tourist with the check-in process. He asked me to sit at the comfortable lounge in the lobby and checked-in for me while I enjoyed the welcome drink. My room was just next to the beach and the interior decoration was nice. All items worked well. My room is a short walking distance to the gym and lots of local shops selling food, groceries as well as souvenirs. I really enjoyed the breakfast spread at the resort - serving local and western menu. Finally, I would like to convey my appreciation to the staff at the resort who was so sweet to deliver me a birthday cake on my birthday. I was not expecting that but enjoyed the pleasant surprise. Thanks a million and I'm looking forward to come back again. Read less

We stayed at Meritus Pelangi many years ago and it was strange to return to the hotel. We stayed just for one night in December 2019 and when we checked in, we got room 707. We stayed at Meritus Pelangi many years ago and it was strange to return to the hotel. We stayed just for one night in December 2019 and when we checked in, we got room 707. They seem to make a deal out of driving you to the rooms in small golf buggies and we had to wait a couple of minutes for that. It is a large resort but it is not that big so we could easily just have walked over. Room 707 was located on the upper level of our house (each entrance seems to have 4 rooms) and when entering you can see that the room is dominated by dark wood. The room is built in a traditional style with a high ceiling (just as the impressive lobby building) and apart from the bed, there was a sofa and table, a desk and chair and a TV mounted on the wall. The TV could have been larger if you ask me but then again we did not really turn it on. The room had a balcony with a view to Cenang beach! The bathroom was larger that usual and contained a shower corner, toilet and basin but also the wardrobe, space for the suitcase and iron/ironing board. There were lots of amenities and shampoo/shower gel came in small plastic containers. The bathroom did not have proper windows which made it possible to hear the waves on the beach – but it also gave the mosquito easy access to the bathroom and that is never appreciated. As mentioned, the room is basically on the beach and Cenang beach is white and wide and in many ways picture perfect. On the beach you can find Cba restaurant for sunset drinks and food. The resort also have a couple of pools of course. Breakfast was served both at Spice road (Asian and western breakfast) and at Cba (just western breakfast) and there was a great selection of basically all that you need. Location of the hotel is good – it is at the end of the Cenang beach so expect to walk a few minutes to get to e.g the mall but with Grab you can easily get around on the beach for only a few ringgits. Conclusion: a good resort hotel with rooms that are a bit dark and old school, but the bed was comfortable and the location is good. Absolutely a hotel to consider if you want a beach getaway and want to stay at Cenang beach. Read less

From the begining to the end it was one of a kind experience. Ambient, staff, room was perfect. Beach front location with two big swimmingpools and sport facilities makes this place a perfect for vacation. We would like to come back.
