We had 10 nights here to celebrate my Wife's 50th Birthday, just the two of us and it was simply wonderful. This was our 5th time we have travelled to Langkawi, and our second stay at the Pelangi. We had a booked a beach front room with Breakfast directly with the Hotel. Check in was fine after a 10 minute Grab Ride from the airport. Our first room was on the first floor and I asked to be on a ground floor room, Pantai Cenang end. We moved after three nights, it wasn't an issue. The first room was delightful and there was a wonderful display on the bed and a cake, a lovely touch for my Wife. The beach is probably my favourite in the World, the view is wonderful! The great thing about the Pelangi is that it is on the quiet end of the beach but it is only a 10 minute walk to an array of bars/shops/restaurants. Once we moved downstairs (the room was fantastic but not as good as the first room) it was wonderful to go straight out onto the beach and sunbeds. We went to the CBA for breakfast on the first morning and it wasn't very good, we much preferred the Spice Market Restaurant and went there for 9 days. There was an array of choice, western/fresh omelette and also a traditional Malay, Lamb/Chicken curry with special rice for breakfast was great! As we have been before we knew there was a vast choice of restaurants for the evening. After a typical day we had a walk down the beach where there is a beach bar to enjoy cold Tiger beer and cocktails listening to beach vibes and watching the sunset, take me back please! Our favourite restaurant was Yasmin, which served the most wonderful Syrian fresh food. There is also a Korean restaurant well worth a visit (a Grab away). Our top tips: 1). Install the Grab App (Malaysia's version of Uber). £2 from the airport. 2). The CBA serves Carlsberg draft at £1.80 a pint, great value and a great bar. 3). Spice Market for Breakfast. 4). Loads of restaurants within a short walk, see trip advisor for the best. 5). Cenang Mall upstairs sells slabs of beer and other alcohol (10 minute walk). 6). We booked a car from a Kiosk for about £20, and did a full tour around the Island. One small gripe, we had a 7pm flight but had to check out at mid-day, the facilitites are not what you would expect from a 5 star resort. Overall we had an amazing time, we had three nights in KL but next time will just go straight to the Pelangi for the whole trip, it was simply wonderful! Read less

The hotel has everything that's needed, the rooms are a little tired but it's just a base to sleep and freshen up. Great breakfast choices, something for everyone and its served until 11 am. CBA restaurant has a great location on the beach and is open from lunch time until late evening. Pint of carlsberg here is £1.80 all day. All staff at this hotel are happy, friendly and helpful. The beach itself is amazing, so quiet and clean, there are jellyfish. There is a problem with people getting up early to save sunbeds but this happens in all resorts, annoying but just need to try and get up earlier and snooze on the beach. There are more restaurants and bars at the other end of the beach, a lovely walk in the evening along the beach popping in a few bars is great as it's more lively than the hotel end. Plenty of shopping and restaurants in the high street, everything you need some great places to eat, Red Tomato restaurant is a must. Langkawi is a great place to visit, it's my second time back and I'm glad I've seen it before it gets more built up. The hotels location and beach is perfect as you get the peace if you want it and just a walk away is a little more nightlife, perfect Read less

My family and I cannot fault this resort. From the moment you walk in the door you are treated like royalty. Rooms are large and spacious with very modern bathrooms. This place is right on the beach with a two magnificent, lagoon style pools. Lovely, casual feel. Staff are the best. Bent over backwards to fulfil our every request.
