**Date Incorrect** **December 2016** What can we say about The Andaman that hasn't already been said before! This place is brilliant!!! Its all private and closed off to non-residents. Private section of the beach at Datai Bay. We were first in awe by the shear size of the main lobby! Humongous! Never seen one this big before! Two Koi ponds at the entrance. Very tranquil. We stayed here for 7 nights, Bed & Breakfast in a Jacuzzi Studio. The room was big. The bathroom amazed my wife, she took photos because she wants the same bathroom in our house. The balcony had a jacuzzi that could fit 2 adults in comfort. There were bamboo Venetian blinds for privacy and step that lead down to a small garden and a door which lead to the beach. This is a beautiful hotel, surrounded by a tropical rainforest. You could not see the hotel from the beach. Amazing. The beach had white sand and turquoise waters. The view of the bay was brilliant. Even more so at sunrise and sunset! The hotel has an amazing spa high up in the rainforest with open panoramic views of Datai Bay. Truly an experience! The hotels idea of in-room dining was something else! A waiter wheeled in a fully decorated table which would be expanded out. The dishes were covered and then individually revealed by the waiter before leaving. The pool was massive, with broken view of the bay and rays of sunlight breaking through the tree tops. An amazing place to stay! As I write this review I have friends en-route to this resort. I told them how amazing this place is. I would highly recommend anyone, couples, families to visit this place!! We want to return here again! The staff are friendly and very helpful. Read less

We stayed in interconnecting rain forrest view rooms for 6 nights with our two children. The rooms were spacious, although a little tired in places, very comfortable. The walkout balconies in the rain forrest rooms are very small. These are minor comments which cannot take away from the main strength of this hotel which is the location. It has been sensitively built into the rainforest which surrounds you at all times; we saw colugos (flying lemurs) sleeping on the tree trunks outside our room everyday and flying over our heads as we ate dinner in the evenings, monitor lizards wandering along the pathways and swimming in the pool between islands and sea eagles from the beach. The beach itself is lovely, with clear water and groomed several times a day. The sunset views are breathtaking. Children's facilities are great with a kids club (closed over lunch), free poolside ice-creams, and wide variety of children's meals available (or half price adult meals). The pool facilities for children are well thought out with a great slide, not too deep water and a sectioned off toddler pool. The coral nursery is very informative and good opportunity for the children (and adults) to have a guided snorkel and learn about the various corals and fish. There is also an opportunity to go in and feed the fish which they loved. The food at all the restaurants is excellent and we were really impressed with the service which was friendly and attentive throughout. Read less

Wow what a lovely hotel, staff, setting, food, drink, pool....... I could go on but it would sound like I work there! We went as a family (me wife and 10 year old daughter) and met with some friends who stayed there as well. The facilities were great for kids with the added bonus of a games room. I lost count of the time my daughter and her friends went up and down the slide in the pool. With regards to the dining, on our first night we went to the Japanese restaurant, we were tired and had been travelling for 16hrs. The food was good but the service seemed a little slow there, however that could be from us feeling so tired. We decided on the next night to go and eat beach side and we had dinner at that restaurant for the rest of the holiday! Would recommend the jinga prawns and any of the curries washed down with some tasty beverages and a few laughs with our friends. I have seen some reports on here of the rooms looking old but for me personally it gave the place a certain charm (wood floors etc) and I wouldnt change the rooms at all. They are spacious enough to fit the 3 of us with an extra bed for my daughter. As it was the week before Christmas they put up decorations and had a carol singing night (with free drinks!) where the kids could decorate the gingerbread house! A special mention to all the staff who try their very best to make your holiday relaxing and perfect.....thank you all! Would I go back.......absolutely yes! Read less
