Hard Rock Hotel Singapore

Singapore, Asia and Far East

The hotel

A place to let your hair down (and preferably swing it around in true head-banging fashion), Singapore’s outpost of the Hard Rock Hotel franchise lives up to its rock and roll name. It even gives you unlimited free use of its 20 Fenders (including those legendary Stratocasters) to use in your rock-themed guest room, with its state-of-the-art entertainment system. The hotel’s decorated with around 120 pieces of musical memorabilia, including a signed Pearl Jam guitar, but its headline act’s the pool. A tropical lagoon, with man-made sandy beach, swanky cabanas, swim-up bar, beach volleyball and buzzing vibe, it’s ‘the’ place to be seen. On Singapore’s Sentosa Island, the hotel’s part of Resorts World Sentosa, so you’re well-placed for celebrity chef dining, Festive Walk’s shops, and big-name attractions like Universal Studios Singapore®.

My two kids loved the swimming pool. According to them, it's one of the best swimming pools for kids. Didn't book for breakfast as we want to go for safe distancing during Covid-19 outbreak. Overall, our rating is 8.4/10. We had a good time. I have posted a short VLOG at my YouTube channel "FarAway Lands by William Saw". Hope to be there again. Thumbs up and keep on rolling, Hard Rock. We did as told and joined the check in counter queue. After queuing for 30 mins, we were informed there’s no room available. And we had to wait till 3pm. We then requested to be informed via a phone call once a room becomes available but was told they do not provide this service. The staffs’ attitude threw us off. Even the concierge was a disappointment. The room was clean and decent. That’s about it. Totally flabbergasted! Totally not what was expected from such an established island hotel. Don’t even get me started on the check in at Ocean Suites! RWS, you really gotta up your service level as those attitudes are so sub standard! I’m better off spending my money elsewhere for better service. Never will I ever stay another night in any RWS hotels, waste money and time! Read less

The room is a twin sharing with a pull out single bed. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Room was decent. Aircon was quiet and controllable. Only cons were no bidea in the toilet and no holder for hand towel. Room was quite dark. Not enough lights. No standing lamp which should have been in a corner. Pull-out bed should be a sofa bed instead.… Read more

Pool and restaurants can get crowded since these are shared by other resorts world hotels like Michael, Equarius, Festive etc. There are 6 hotels under Resort World, fyi. Pool is big and spaced out. Only accessible by room card. Towels are controlled. Alot of mosquitoes at pool. Terrible. A short walk to main monorail station through hotels or walk by pool. Average stay. Will not return. This is my feedback after reading some reviews by other users. I myself too booked and stayed at Hard Rock Hotel because my family have no where else to go during school holiday. I would admit it is not the best experience for staycation because everything just happen so fast & unable to plan properly because of Covid-19. But I’ve been brought up to know how to appreciate every little things in life. At least we still can move around freely unlike other countries. So you discuss about where to travel during March school holiday late last year or even during Lunar New Year. You plan it, you booked hotels and flights and got all excited. But as it gets closer, the virus got more serious worldwide, you see your March holiday plan slowly flush down the drain. Finally you have to cancel your original travel plans just weeks before school holiday. Then you thought maybe Malaysia is a good choice, at least nearby and better than nothing. But just days before you can make it happen, Malaysia announce border lockdown. Now you got no where else to go during school holiday. But you remember PM Lee says “go staycation locally and help boost the economy” So you search around to find good deals around because, you can’t stay at home during school holiday, your children can’t stay at home because you promise them that you all will travel for holiday. Can’t go overseas, but staycation will do too despite the whole world is fighting with the virus. Despite we all being advised to avoid crowded place. Eventually you found a rather good staycation deal thinking probably everyone else will not risk their life and go for staycation like you do. You are the smart risk taker here who scores a good staycation deal and your family will have a great time at the hotel enjoying the facilities, being treated like a king while everyone else will just stay at home. I mean, dining credit, early check in, late check out, attraction ticket & free breakfast, definitely NO ONE else will be attracted by this promo and risk their life to stay in a hotel but you. Pack some clothes and head to the hotel only to realise, turn out EVERYONE is attracted by this staycation promo. You ask yourself “why don’t they just stay at home?” “where is social distancing?” “they should avoid crowded place right?” But it is too late now, you are here. Family are all so excited for this last minute staycation. You have to proceed to check in but the queue is so long! The social distancing marking on the floor, the thermal screening right in the middle. You grow impatient as you are standing in line, you look at the people at counters and ask “what taking them so long?” You start finding fault on everything you see. Because why blame yourself when you can blame the hotel right? “Why did you put up such promo during staycation and bring in so many people to stay in your hotel?” Look, the hotel didn’t hold a knife in front of you and force you to book it. Nor they came to your house and tell you this staycation promo is exclusively for you and you ONLY. It is your own choice to book it. It is just you having this perfect staycation fantasy in your mind that didn’t really happen. At this down time, be kind. Infact, we should be kind to everyone no matter there is Covid-19 or not. Don’t forget, service staff are human too. They did not wake up and go through the bookings and hand pick yours to screw it up for fun. Everyone who book the hotels have the same idea in mind, to have a great staycation during this down time. Everyone have to go through the same experience before getting their room. But it is your choice to make it a good staycation experience too. Your mindset has to be right in order to enjoy it. Happiness do comes from external source but happiness within yourself plays a bigger part as well. Stop pushing all the responsibilities to others, if your happiness only can be determined by being treated like a king and everyone must bow down to you, then you might need to go for some soul searching trip rather than just a simple staycation. Be grateful that you can still move around and go for staycation rather than just stuck at home and only able to step out for groceries. I’ll still have so much to talk about, will leave it for another day. Btw, thank you to all the staff be it front line or back line. You guys are so under appreciated. Glad to see smilling faces whenever you guys see me & my family. Read less

So let’s start with the beginning, i booked a deluxe twin room that came with breakfast, SGD40 f&b credit and 2 SEA aquarium tix. Good deal for SGD315. Came into the hotel at 1600hrs to check in. Firstly they had tapes on the floor for social distancing measures. Great, i thought. There was thermal temperature scanner which nobody was paying attention to. So i am not too sure if someone were to have a fever, how will they even know? Nobody was monitoring anyway. So checked in with this Korean(?) lady Audrey (i think, she has Ariana Grande indicated at her name tag) at the reception. No greeting given to me whatsover. Ok fine, i thought. Maybe due to Covid 19 she was not allowed to talk much. Gave her my booking ID and she went to find my booking for about 3 minutes. So i stood there awkwardly waiting for her. So she got my booking and i was like “Do u need my ID?” So she goes, oh ya.. again, no interaction whatsover. She does stuff on her computer then finally says staying for 1 night? Twin bed? And i was like Yeah.. then she was like oh the room is not ready. (Its now 1610hrs btw) and she said u have to wait for the room cause check in time is after 1500hrs. So i said yeah, check in time is at 1500hrs, and its now 1610hrs. How long is the room going to be ready? She said in an hour. “Haha. I dont know why the room is not ready.”, she said. Ok fine, i’ll wait. She doesnt offer to give me anymore information on breakfast, etc. so that kinda sucks. Told me to check with the restaurant staff as she doesnt have the info on breakfast timing with her. Poor gal doesnt know much abt her own property. Ok, so everything else was fine, room was spacious but one thing i dont like was there was no bidet in the toilet! Cmon ya’ll, i know hard rock is an American franchise but water to wash ur backside is important! I had to erm improvise. Swimming pool was great! Wasnt crowded at all and i and the kids could run around the pool and has so much fun. Such a great time to visit the pool! Literally u get the pool to urself! Facilities was great, but dont expect much from service. Staff doesnt smile, lacks knowledge on property and isnt too happy to serve. Hands down, by far the worst check in experience ive ever had! And i do travel pretty frequently! So come for the pool but dont expect much human interaction. Nothing wow in terms of service quality. Read less
