From check in to check out they looked after everything we could have wished for, the Kasara lounge was brilliant and gave a bit of exclusivity/privacy to our stay which we really appreciated. The pool is absolutely gorgeous and the complimentary water and fresh towels were a lovely touch. I honestly can't recommend the hotel enough and we hope we can come back again! Read less

Fab stay! Family with 3 yr old and 9 yr old Compared to other hotels, the service was exceptional. The team were friendly and helpful. Tips: If you have the funds upgrade to kasara suite. The free drinks, excellent canapés, beautiful stylish rooms worth the money. Night market across the road worth visiting. 100 baht (£2) for foot massage etc,… Read more

The free drinks, excellent canapés, beautiful stylish rooms worth the money. Night market across the road worth visiting. 100 baht (£2) for foot massage etc, such amazing value. You can have a massage every night. My 2 children loved it! Team booked elephant park visit which was unique memorable experience. Take water shoes. Take clothes to cheap launderettes afterwards for cleaning. Transport: avoid overpriced hotel taxi and flag a ride with red truck or tuck 100-150 baht to most destinations apart from hillside temple 1921 restaurant pricey but l have to say has the best ice creams/ desserts in Thailand. Have the souffle. Fab nails nearby for pedicure Central fiesta mall many shops and a discount Jim Thompson store Pool: zen like atmosphere but with kids making most of pool access. Chiang Mai was very cheap with great bargains. Enjoy! Read less

I would give the Anantara Chiang Mai six stars if I could. We were visiting Thailand to celebrate my wife's 30th birthday, which I casually mentioned to the Anantara in an email exchange ahead of our stay. I didn't expect much from this (it's just a birthday), but the Anantara knocked it out of the park. After our sweet ride from the airport, after our welcome massage and introductory tea, and after our conversation with our manager, we walked into a hotel room that was decked out in balloons, a message from the staff, and a birthday cake--yes, a cake. I got a million gold stars. The hotel is beautiful and serene--particularly the lobby and inner courtyard. All of the rooms faced inwards, minimizing noise at night. The glass door between the toilet and the shower was a bit wonky, but otherwise the room was perfect, and we especially appreciated the vestibule and shoe rack between the outer hotel room door and the door to the room itself. The balcony was huge with a nice view of the hotel grounds and the river beyond. The pool was popular but beautiful with the added quirk of abutting a koi pond full of fish. The gym easily is one of the best hotel gyms I've experienced, though I only got around to using it once. The property is gorgeous, but the service was even better. The staff were all professional, knowledgeable, and efficient, but above all else genuinely friendly. The spa was fantastic, as were the cocktails at the hotel bar. Our last night in Chiang Mai, we ate at The Service (the main restaurant on site), and the food was great. Although it was "expensive" for Thailand, it was just about what you'd expect food to cost as an American traveler. In retrospect, I can think of a handful of very minor critiques that could be worth voicing. The hotel's policy limiting the use of the balcony lights at night is superficially frustrating, but I understand the policy. I also think the pool could stay open later. Finally, the Anantara is located a little bit further from central Chiang Mai than some of the other larger hotels. But quite frankly, none of this occurred to us during our stay. The Anantara was so great that we were too happy to return to our relaxed sanctuary--even after exploring enchanting Chiang Mai--to really notice these points. Highly, highly recommended. We now regard Anantara as similar to the Four Seasons... and (to me at least) that's the gold standard. Read less

We were blown away by a fabulous birthday surprise by the staff to celebrate my daughter's birthday, they decorated her room with large numeral balloons and other touches. It made our stay so very special! Also, we had a couples massage at the on site spa and it was possibly the best massage I've ever had. We can't wait to return to this property! Read less

We travelled as a family, in total, 13 of us, which under normal circumstances, is a challenge for any hotel. Nevertheless, the staff was prepared, kind, and a pleasure to experience. The management and staff took it upon themselves to remember that we should sit together, asked after missing members, and accommodated all our requests both poolside and in the restaurant. The British Consulate restaurant is not to be missed, the detail and commitment to theme was a pleasure to experience, and the cocktails were on point. One of the managers even accompanied my mother to a local tailor in order to make sure that the measurements for a chef's jacket she wanted were understood and executed! Our General Manager was also extremely attentive, giving us a guided tour of the restaurant (during a corporate event, no less) to make sure we had a good time. The staff were sweet, attentive and very professional. What else can I say! Many thinks to this establishment for making our trip one to remember! ขอบคุณ!! Read less
