We had two rooms as a family party with my wife and I in room 2204 looking over the Tamarind tree garden. A really good experience started with a friendly, efficient and comfortable transfer from the airport in the hotel minibus with two hotel staff taking care of bags - which we next saw in our rooms. The room was clean and spacious with large comfortable bed, a separate sitting room and a large modern bathroom with walk-in large shower and separate bath. The small balcony over the garden had two comfortable chairs and overlooked one of the many gardens. Fast wi-fi was included and the laundry service was same day return and well done. The restaurant / pool area was very attractive and inviting and meals were excellent, as was the staff manner and assistance. The hotel is an oasis off the main street - which once inside, you forgot was just outside but was nevertheless very accessible (to the town and its attractions). We definitely recommend the hotel and its 'local' architecture - unless you want glass and marble, in which case book elsewhere.. Read less

I chose Tamarind Village because it is located at the Old City of Chiang Mai hence we able to enjoy the Sunday Night Market. Tamarind also the largest hotel establishment at the area hence able to offer bigger room size. Around May 2019, I booked Tamarind Suite on regular rate. By Sep, they are offering promotions for the Suites hence communicated with the Reservation Team and we secured the promo rate (they offered Spa Suite, but I wasn't keen with outdoor shower). The promotion rate gave so many discounts which worked wonderful for us because we every night with dine and enjoy massage at the spa. Our daily laundry also enjoyed discounted rate. The promo also covered the airport transfer for us. Tamarind Hotel doesn't look like a hotel from outside because of the long entrance to the hotel. We love the entrance that covered with bamboo tree and light up at night. I informed that my husband is allergic to synthetic chemical hence they can't use any air freshener or synthetic bug spray in the room. The request was really taken care off. All of our laundry came back with no 'fake' perfume smell from soap or fabric softener. Because there's not much rooms in the hotel, the staffs able to focus to the guests and their requests. There's a problem with the shower drainage, we informed in the morning, when we return around 5pm, all fixed. Our Tamarind Suite is on the ground floor, corner, quiet. We saw the squirrel running up and down the 200 years old Tamarind tree daily. The suite size is perfect for our 4 big luggage. Huge bathroom with double vanity, dressing table, shower, and bathtub. The restaurant is lovely, great food, and my husband loves 2 gentlemen who perform a great acoustic songs. The spa is the BEST that we ever experienced. Yes, Tamarind Spa is expensive compare to the massage prices outside the hotel. But, we found our fave masseuses, these 2 ladies relief our tired and aching muscles every night. We lived in South East Asia for a long time so we are used to Thai / Chinese massage, and these 2 ladies are so talented, so good, I would like to keep their identity secret. I always love small hotel group especially local hotel group as they able to the authentic local personality and atmosphere into their property and service. Tamarind Village really show case Chiang Mai's hospitality that is different from Bangkok and other parts of Thailand. We are planning to return to Chiang Mai and definitely will be at Tamarind Village again. Read less

Stylish and comfortable. Nicely decorated, best location, good service, good food, good price. The only thing comment is better to have the exhaust fan in all rooms. Would recommend to my friends to stay in this hotel when visiting Chiang Mai.

The staff are wonderfully attentive and cheerful. The food is excellent and the rooms are clean and cool. We did have a bit of a problem sleeping at nights as out the back of our room a pack of dogs seemed to have set up camp in the neighbouring property and persisted in barking and howling most of the night. This didn’t however detract from our enjoyment staying in this lovely hotel and wonderful city. Location wise most attractions are in walking distance and the huge Sunday night market is quite literally outside the front door. I can thoroughly recommend a stay here. Read less
