Perfect central location, and surprisingly calm and tranquil for somewhere in a big city. An oasis of calm. Beautifully maintained hotel to a very high standard, exceptionally helpful staff. Small and very quiet pool area, but in Chiang Mai there is so much to do why would you want to lay around the pool area anyway! Rooms are small, but… Read more

We recently stayed at the Tamarind Hotel for 5 nights and we loved it! It's central location is a great base for exploring the city, we branched out in a different direction each day. There is an abundance of great markets, shops, coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is great, it's a compact set up but still manages to feel spacious. The staff are extremely hospitable and helpful. Our room was really lovely...although we did have an issue with a very loud cockeral (in a nearby property, not in the hotel) in the middle of the night, but the staff were able to change our room to a quieter one!! The brekkie was great and the early start time meant we were able to eat before setting out on some of our day excursions we had booked. (I would recommend requesting a ground floor room if steps are an issue, as a lot of the rooms have stairs up to them...wasn't an issue for us, but may be for some visitors) We happened to be staying at the Tamarind over New Year's Eve and they had a beautiful dinner set out by the pool. The staff made a huge effort with decor and creating a party vibe. And the buffet dinner itself was easily the best buffet food we've ever experienced!! We hope to return to Chiang Mai again as it's a great base for doing some trekking or cycling trips and we will certainly be staying in the Tamarind. We would highly recommend! Read less

The surroundings are beautiful, the pool area is small but very comfortable and pretty. The breakfast is served overlooking the pool and there is a great choice. The lunch and dinner served here is also Fab and the restaurant staff are so lovely! Our room was traditional, with lovely touches and the bed was soooo comfy! We had a couples Thai massage and then i had an essential oils massage too, and both were wonderful. The spa staff are lovely and very good at what they do. Our trips were organised through the hotel and we were given so many tours to choose from. We had a private tour to the Doi Inthanon National park with Kandy who is concierge officer at the hotel and it was fabulous. She was a great guide and was very easy to get on with during our stay and tour! She really looked after us so well. Thank you! The location of the hotel is great, in the very centre of the old town & the staff give great recommendations for restaurants and markets nearby! We look forward to visiting Tamarind Village again very soon and would recommend the hotel to everyone! Read less

This is the first boutique hotel we have stayed in and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
