We stayed in a jacuzzi studio for 4 nights on a luxury escapes package. The resort is older, however, we found the staff and service outstanding. The food was also delicious. The resort is hard to get to, and getting into town is only by scheduled transfer (extra cost). There is no transfer service at night, so you are limited to eating at the resort or the resort next door. We didn't find this a problem, as the food was to our liking. The beach isn't the best we have seen in Thailand, but it is in a picturesque spot. We enjoyed the relaxed ambience of the resort. We are missing our nightly cocktail with included nibbles every night. If you want an actioned, packed, busy island, this isn't for you. If you are looking for an authentic quiet island break, this could be the place. Read less

The hotel should consider a complete change of team and training model. I can settle with the not very blue waters in comparison to others, but can’t settle with bad service, average rooms and a rude team. Team in general not very hospitable and polite. Food and beverage service takes hours, the team seem quite not regretful about it . The hotel… Read more

We spent an enjoyable week here in March. If you like very hot/ humid weather then this is the time to come. Positives first: The food was excellent. Fabulous seafood, freshly cooked. There were several buffet evenings with live cooking stations. We were half board and on our arrival we were told we could only use the main restaurant in our package. There is a more upmarket Italian restaurant next to the main restaurant that was more or less empty most evenings. While we were there, they changed the rules ( sensibly) that allowed us to use the Italian…..as long as we didn’t eat the meat or lobster! We did enjoy a very nice meal there without incurring extra cost. The chef was always on hand and was very pleasant. There is a happy hour between 5-6 pm and 9-10pm . There is a limited drinks menu but the cocktails were strong and well made. Our room was a deluxe with plunge pool. It was spacious and fairly private, although a semi. It had a wonderful view and the lovely Pied Hornbills perched off our decking every day. It was worth paying the extra. The air con only seemed to work on one side of the room so my husband was frozen at night and I was boiling! However, it wasn’t that bad. They give you bottled water and we had to ask for more. It the heat, four bottles was not enough. This also, was not a problem. The pool was clean and lovely and provided a welcome relief from the heat. The staff were efficient and friendly. A big thank you to the Swiss manager ( sorry, can’t remember your name!) and Linda. Negatives: We did not go in the sea as we were told there were jellyfish. Also we were told there were no fish. Having brought our snorkels and masks, we were rather disappointed! I do wish hotels would provide areas for smokers. When going to the bar for a cocktail, we had to choose where to sit carefully due to cigarette smoke. Many of the rooms are on the hillside and we had a steep climb to ours. They do have electric carts that will ferry you. The wine was expensive but then it is all imported. We had a good time . Read less

Escape to a remote island - this location will not disappoint. Situated on a beach, with individual apartment rooms set up the hillside, it's the ideal hotel to get away from it all and relax next to nature. With delicious food served throughout the day, beautiful views across the Phnang Bay and the back drop of trees and fauna, we were absolutely delighted with this hotel. Staff are eager to serve and ensure guests are comfortable and happy. There's activities of all types on hand - batik, walks, hikes, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, cycling to name but a few.
