This is a personal message of thanks to Keith Massey, General Manager. We have currently visited hotels in 56 countries including The Marriott in Florida & many other hotels in Thailand but this one rates the very best . You are to be commended in the efficient way you run this hotel & the excellent staff that you employ. Without exception they all give the impression that they enjoy coming to work & give great & friendly service to your guests.Perhaps unfair to mention anyone in particular but Pooh, Nat, Tammy & the lovely Lailya rather stand out and feel the latter three deserve promotion. We always judge a hotel by trying to find fault with it but this time you really have got us stumped! Comments but not really criticisms:- 1/ Nice to have clean towels changed twice in the room every day but let’s think of our environment . 2/ In our opinion the pool & beach bars could have a more welcoming look about them. 3/ We did have a strong issue about the Indian Wedding in the hotel but this was resolved in a satisfactory way with your Duty Manager. Once again many thanks to you and your staff who we will truly miss when we return to the U.K. Read less

Stayed here for a week for my partners 50th and my birthday, staff are fabulous cannot do enough for you. We both got a birthday cake and the maid did the towels to look like animals on the bed with flowers around. The restaurant had plenty of choice for breakfast everything you could think of plus more, plates cleared quickly. We only ate in the Thai restaurant one night as went out most nights and could not fault it would definitely recommend. The pool is great with an adults only bit with plenty of sun beds around pool and on beach, towels are provided free. When you leave hotel by the beach if you go left there are bars and restaurants and if you go right round side there is a restaurant called Phen which is well worth a visit. Will definitely stay again if I’m Khao Lak Area Read less

I've done a few 5 star resorts and this place grew on me each day. The entrance was excellent and the pool is the biggest I've ever seen. I kept thinking the tiler had a serious job to do. It's not a new resort by any means but the maintenance has kept up and so it's not tired or old. We went on a luxury escapes package with food included. It's located right on the beach and the waves were sometimes good for a body surf which was a bonus. Our room was nice and we had access straight to the pool from our patio. I found the bed a bit soft and the staff changed my matress to make it more firm - now thats good service! I had a 3 year old and an 11 month with me and they got treated like rock stars. The kids club was a great place for them to meet friends which made the holiday more fun. Nicholau (operations manager) and his big team do a great job. The juice at breakfast was the best I have had at any buffet and the noodle soup stand was a highlight. The Italian buffet night is a must with high quality cold cuts, a BBQ (including things like duck and seafood) and the Thai restaurant has a great setting. The only minor thing I would improve is the activities and using better quality dumplings (dim sum) at breakfast. I went to the 'social tennis' but no one turned up and I couldn't even have a hit with a staff member. Also, I would have liked a table tennis tournament. I spoke to about ten people who said they would have loved that too and there is never a shortage of competitive people at these places ready for a tournament. These issue were so minor and all I could think of improving. So many people we met were repeat visitors and I can see why. Its great value for money and very kid friendly. We had a great time and if the AUD appreciates against the baht ill be back here again. Read less

My husband & I have travelled all over the world to various luxury beach resorts and this one was the BEST! The service from all the staff was first-class (much better than ANY resort we've ever stayed in), the food at all the restaurants was lovely and the rooms have been renovated. We loved, loved, loved our 9 night stay. We will definitely return in 2020. We travelled with 3 young children in Oct 2019. The weather was warm in the mornings, raining on & off by about 2pm everyday, but still very warm (30deg) even when wet. KEY TIPS for travellers: The resort is 1.5hrs drive north of Phuket airport. Its about 15mins past Khao Lak township. The resort is located about 2km from the main road, down a paved narrow drive. Once down the drive, just outside the resort, there is a manned boom gate. Just beside the boom gate are two convenience stores for chips/soft drinks/beer. Much less expensive than in the resort and easy to access. Tours/private airport transfers can be booked at the tour office just outside boom gates next to the convenience stores (eg. 1,400B one-way to airport). The pool access family rooms can accommodate 3 children, 2 adults comfortably. We had all 3 kids in the room with us (& their toys) and we still had plenty of room. Ask for 10% food & bev discount in the resort with (free) Bonvoy membership before signing bill in restaurants (the discount can be applied at final check out, but allow time for manual processing at reception). Bonvoy membership (which is free) gives free daily icecream for kids (they provide a wrist band to each child upon check in). Choice of 5 flavours. Massage from Thai ladies next to resort is very good (300B for 1hr oil massage). Turn left along beach about 50m. They have open air huts. Laundry is 100B per kilo next to resort along beach (to the left about 50m) - same place as massage ladies. Money can also be easily exchanged just outside the resort next to the massage huts along the beach. There was no fee/commission and the rate was better than what was offered at Reception. There are locked lockers in the resort check-out lounge for carry-on luggage on last day if late check out is not possible (500B refundable deposit for locker key at Reception). Check-out lounge is next to kids club and it has a huge bathroom with showers/toilets/bottled water. This was great for our family when a late checkout wasn't possible and our flight was late at night. Pre-book restaurants before departure (email resort) to get early timeslot - otherwise preferred restaurant may be fully booked at your preferred time. We dinned at 6pm every night for the kids. Also book preferred restaurants a couple of days in advance once you arrive to ensure not booked out. Book massages/facials at Quan Spa (the resort's spa) a couple of days ahead as they’re often fully booked. The Spa is simply gorgeous and while the massages on the beach are cheap and wonderful, Quan Spa is definitely worth at least one visit to experience its beauty and tranquility. You can request any food in any restaurant including chicken nuggets, steamed vege, even if not on the menu. They are very accommodating for children. Gluten free is also easily accommodated. The breakfast buffet simply has to be seen to be believed. We had read how great it was, but nothing prepared us for the extent and variation of the offerings. It's huge and we spent at least an hour there every morning trying different things. It was the best breakfast ever! Kids Club was just 'alright'. It offers basic childminding really, which was our only small issue with the resort. Theres not much to do in there (& they don't take the kids out into the resort), so 2 hours a day was all our kids wanted at Kids Club. They played video games during that time, or coloured in. The Kids Club do offer daily activities for a fee, but nothing really interesting. Finally, we felt quite teary leaving ALL the gorgeous, friendly, accommodating staff who made us feel so welcome and appreciated during our stay. Special mention to all the team members who work in the restaurants and Kids Club, particularly Au, Tanny, Nuch, Rod, Copter, Benz, Wat, Na, Chef Silvano (what a lovely man!) and Chef Enzo. Nothing was ever too much trouble for you and you absolutely made our stay!! We look forward to seeing you again next year. Read less
