Image of the Tripadvisor rating Coronavirus lockdown stay, salvaged by the magnificent Enzo

This is a high quality property with many fine features that were understandably restricted during the covid19 lockdown, and which prior reviews address. This is a high quality property with many fine features that were understandably restricted during the covid19 lockdown, and which prior reviews address. A couple of the young duty managers were less than professional and polite in the circumstances, and need to be corrected for this (utterly unworthy of a JW Marriott, or any guest property), but my week in this property was entirely redeemed by the outstanding, magnificent chef of the very classy Italian restaurant on the property, Enzo. Every morning and every evening he raised our spirits with his positive energy, infectious sense of humour, and the superb personal attention he devoted to the small number of guests remaining in the hotel. Lavish breakfasts, superb (and reasonably priced) bespoke meals in the evening; these were easily the highlight of an otherwise limited stay. What a magnanimous gem of a human being, on top of a superb chef (and plaudits to his well trained assistant chef Eck, who can easily hold his own in Italian cuisine, and the delightful restaurant staff). Don’t miss a chance to dine with Enzo when the hotel resumes it’s normal service. I do hope the hotel looks after him as he deserves; he is the greatest credit to the property. Read less

Upon our arrival at the hotel lobby and the welcome we received we knew this would be a really beautiful hotel and whoever designed it got it perfectly right because as you walked along the pathways you felt you were in a tropical jungle. We were allocated a refurbished swim up room which had a tasteful modern/Thai twist. The whole resort was kept impeccably clean and tidy, even the beach/pool toilets were of the same standard as anywhere else in the complex. The staff from the gardeners to the management were brilliant and couldn’t do enough for you. I can’t name individuals as they were all brilliant. The hotel is the only one located in a large bay with a beautiful beach. There is a large lagoon pool with a swim up bar and from this there is a waterway that meanders around the entire resort. Due to the Coronavirus we probably didn’t see the hotel as it would normally be because there was a lack of guests during our second week. The downside though was that during the last few days of our holiday the number of guest was approximately 20 and it did seem a little strange whilst staying in a large hotel. Furthermore, the staff were removing sun beds and umbrellas as they were preparing to close the hotel for refurbishment. We went for B&B as we wanted to eat out and sample the local restaurants. However we did eat in the hotel on four occasions and have to say that the quality was excellent. The Italian restaurant was really good although the wine was quite expensive. There was a wide variety of food for breakfast in the morning, something for all tastes. We have every intention to return to this hotel next year. Read less

My family of four (including children aged 11 and 8) stayed for 6 nights in January... and what an all round wonderful experience. We swam, ate and relaxed. Even though the resort is quite large, we always had our own space and never felt crowded. We stayed in two adjoining pool access rooms. The rooms are slightly dated, but still perfectly comfortable... and how great to open your back door and jump in the snakelike pool. The pool itself - it must be said - is a triumph. Winding it's way around the entire resort, it is testament to the staff that the water is crystal clear. All of the onsite restaurants (especially Takrai - boasting the best beef massaman that I have ever eaten) were utterly delicious. Even better, was supping a delectable pina colada on the back deck... which we did on numerous occasions. We also spent several hours in Quan - the day spa. The massages were sublime. The staff - to a person - were flawless. All genuine, welcoming and kind. Our only gripe is that we didn't stay longer..!! It's paradise. Go there. Read less

The room was gorgeous, clean and spacious, the pool and gardens were well maintained and stunning, the restaurants, breakfast and mixture of beach BBQs and organised events were excellent and the staff were beyond fantastic. During this trip I stayed in 3 hotels and I was genuinely so upset leaving this hotel, I can say it was the best hotel I have ever stayed in and every detail at this hotel even the small touches made my hotel. Thank you so much to everyone who made this the perfect experience. I hope you are all well as COVID 19 was starting to affect as I left 😔 Read less
