First time I‘m giving to IHG hotel bad review. I’m IHG Spire Ambassador member and I have stayed over 60 IHG hotels in the last 10 months, and this is the worst experience I have ever had so far. First time I‘m giving to IHG hotel bad review. I’m IHG Spire Ambassador member and I have stayed over 60 IHG hotels in the last 10 months, and this is the worst experience I have ever had so far. First of all, I paid $430 per night for average 4 stars hotel, which in advance I had no problem to pay that amount of money. But, the hotel is 4 stars, and act like he’s bad motel. They totally don’t care from your bad experience, and even not say sorry or try to fix your experience. As I guest I except that and especially as a spire ambassador elite member you except to get good care. But they just don’t care, they prefer you to leave and that’s it. The hotel has huge potential but so far he’s the worst by far. I contacted with the hotels months. advance and many emails! The hotel crew including the wedding planner and the manager sent that they are excepting my checking and they will make my stay “a memorable one” and they will take personally my stay. They knew it’s my partner Birthday. But they didn’t care. They gave us so hard time, it felt they give us a favor that the manager talked with us! Just such unprofessional and so disrespectful!!!! I did contact with IHG customer’s relation to tell them to help me with the hotel. We should have stayed at the hotel for 9 nights, and I was needed them to help me to get refund for 7 nights that we weren’t stayed. After 2 nights, I booked different hotel. So I just wanted to pay for the 2 nights I stayed, and for the other 7 nights that I didn’t stay I wanted to get a refund. I preferred to pay extra for ferry and flight and moved to better hotel. So we moved after two nights to Luxurious 5 deluxe stars Intercontinental resort in Koh Samui, which was even cheaper than the Holiday Inn!!! I booked in Holiday Inn Phi Phi the beachfront for $430 per night, the hotel promised me they will give me the best beachfront they have, which what I booked for $430 per night, but they gave me the worst! Second row and all the views covered by trees, so I barley see the beach!!!! And no beach access at all. And instead of say sorry and try to fix they don’t care!!!! And not say even sorry, just nod with the head and that’s it. So humiliating! Such a false advertising and promises! Others IHG hotels even upgraded me in advance and make sure that I’ll have a really “memorable stay” I supposed to pay almost $4000 for 9 nights! That’s crazy for the tiny room, no sea view, no beachfront, no beach access, average condition, the shower is like a bad motel. The water in the room is salty you can’t brush your teeth, I had sand on bed, not sure they gave us clean sheets. the hotel doesn’t give you drinking water, lucky they have markets on the beach at least I supported the local business. The hotel give benefits for “Spire Member” - doesn’t care if you suppose to stay 10 days! 1. free newspaper 2. Discount on laundry 3. Discount in the spa Which is a joke, holiday inn in Phuket Mai khao gave us absolutely perfect benefits and not like that. Even after all the bad experience they didn’t even offer us nothing as compensation, even the manager didn’t try fix anything, just give us refund for the extra nights we weren’t stayed and let us leave the hotel. We were super happy we leaved Holiday Inn Phi Phi and moved to Intercontinental Koh Samui resort which is LUXURIOUS Resort The hotel in phi phi we paid the most and got the worst. Thank you Holiday Inn Phi Phi we absolutely had the worst “memorable stay” as you promised. About the Check In, We waited 20 minutes to check in, not priority check in for members, even not get water while you wait, the receptionist just took my passport put it on the table, did her work, she wasn’t nice at all, didn’t say anything even not welcome us with little Smile. Worst experience ever. Everything could have been much BETTER!!!!!! You coming to brand you know, In holiday inn I stayed over 30 times last 12 month, you supposed to feel home, I supposed to be 10 days! Barely survived 2 nights!! And you paid for it $430 per night! Unbelievable! No value at all. Customer service in the hotel was bad, I was needed to beg to get refund to get out of the hotel and go to different IHG hotel, an of course thanks to IHG guest relations. Toilet is smell, the shower is so small took me 5 minutes to understand how to open the water... no one explained or escorted us to the room. I had better conditions as a solider in the army! and here I pay $430 per night!!!!!And barley hot water. Overall, the hotel and management don’t care, 2 hours after I checked inn, I booked speedboat, flight & 7 nights in Intercontinental Samui to Just to go away from there. In intercontinental I got an amazing upgrade and stayed in 10 STARS Resort and pay cheaper price! no logic!!! No value for my money in Phi Phi. Only one golf during the evening, we waited 10 minutes to go from one place to another. I had sand on bed, I don’t know if the sheets were clean before we sleep there. Very frustrated and disappointed from holiday inn Phi Phi. First time something like that happened to me, first time I left hotel during the stay!!! The hotel has beach with gorgeous water. This vacation would be perfect if the hotel would keep their promised. and of course not charge $430 per night, the hotel has high potential, please get a new management. The hotel takes advantage because there aren’t good hotels in Phi Phi. First time, I leave hotel during stay. Can’t believe it was IHG one. Even the manager wasn’t tried to contacted me or make sure why I’m leave.. does it hear right to you? If you want a perfect Holiday Inn resort in Thailand, try “Holiday Inn Mai Khao” in Phuket, and take room with pool access!!! I didn’t give 1 star, because I have respect to IHG. Read less

The food is good with a great breakfast buffet every morning. However the rest of the food and beverages are horrendously overpriced. Especially water, 4 x the price, a basic necessity!!! At the beach bar a Chang beer over 5 Swiss francs... is that justified??? Of course they have to transport everything over from the main land but still I feel they take advantage of the farange (dumb tourists). However this did not spoil our vacation, we would definitely come again!!!The small restaurants along the beach are worth a nice stroll and are a lot cheaper! The tide is quite interesting and quite extreme which makes it a challenge at times to swim. Overall Phi Phi Island is a must where ever you stay. The best Longtail boat captain is called Kope. He is honest and sincere. Go along the beach where they all hang out and ask for Kope Read less

Amazing experience with my family. Starting from the fact that in the island there is not roads, so once you get there in the main port by ferry you have to take a boat to the actual hotel and there is going to be a caterpillar picking you up from the water (what a cool thing). Hotel has 4 pools, one for kids, one in front of the beach and two in the top of the hill where you will have an out of the world view of the sunset. Kids clubs, multiples restaurants and bars with live music at night. One of the restaurants have the table in the sand. Beach is great, with clear and calm water and the hotel has some kayaking, snorkeling and paddle boating for almost free. Actual rooms ara bungalows, type of Thai villa. Great resort in general. Staff is also great and very friendly, always with a smile in their face and you always have the sense they are there for helping you. Read less

Most of the hotel staff acts as if they are doing a favour to you. Starting with the receptionists. When we arrived they had to change the room because it was 1 bed instead of 2, and they send us to another 1 bed room. Finally (after more than 1,5 hours and after 3 trials) they separated the bed into 2 very small beds in which we stayed. Staff… Read more

Staff at the beach always resting and made a big effort to deliver the towels (¿?) No entertainment in the hotel (only kayak or thai language lessons). An advise: they dont wait for you 5 minutes for kayaking, so try to be several minutes before 5 p.m.!! On the first morning we found a nice surprise in the bathroom: a cockroach!! Last night We ordered 1 pizza through the app (handygo) they say we have to use for everything , it was never delivered. Luckily we didnt get charged for it! But you really couldnt use the app for anything, very unuseful. In summary dont recommend at all this hotel. One of the worst ever. Read less

Be aware that you need to contact the resort in advance so they know you are coming. I would suggest doing the shared speed boat to resort directly. We didn’t know that and took a ferry to ton sai pier and then hired a long tail boat for 500 Thai baht per person and then had to walk from the pier to the hotel in the heat. That wasn’t pleasant. However once at resort it was great and staff were great. Read less
