The resort has good facilities - pool, beach, gym, spa and very close to Fisherman's village. Rooms are big but a bit old (loud AC). The breakfast spread is huge but very repetitive. Also it is best suited with kids.

It could have been a seemingly perfect holiday for our family if not for the bad experience at the Vacation Club, which ruined it all. Read less

Top location, amazing staff, gorgeous food, beautiful pool and a view to die for. We went their for our Honeymoon and are so glad we did as the attention to detail was astounding. The staff are so polite and helpful (and not waiting for you to Tip them) and their attitude was perfect to everybody. Don't think about it - book it!

This is my first family trip to Samui from 4 July to 8 July, and also our first time to stay at Anantara brand of resort. We initially enjoyed the resort much with beautiful swimming pool, quiet beach and nice resort environment, plus very decent buffet breakfast at Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort. After check-in, we were approached by resort staff at reception desk about availability to attend a presentation on vacation club. I pushed back as our leisure schedule has not yet confirmed. The second day near evening, when we were going out to take a taxi at main lobby, another staff came to me again and asked if we were able to make it. She said it’s just a short presentation and it’s relating to her work performance if she could not find the no. of families required. We decided to help her a bit and accepted the invite in the Sat afternoon, just one day before our departure. We were reassured we could leave during the course of presentation. We have not much time for this trip, only 4 days 3 nights. When I was thinking not to attend at the last minute, we received a follow-up call from reception about our appointment- as we were 5-minute late already. We then scarified our swimming time with our son to attend the presentation. Honestly we attended similar activity with Marriott launched similar club years ago in HK, and it’s not a mandatory thing to join even after attending the presentation, so we thought it’s no harm to understand a bit Anantara brand as the initial impression of this resort was pretty good. Unfortunately, after attending the presentation, we had our mind totally changed - we will not consider this brand thereafter. As a loyal SPG and Shangri-la member, this is our first time trying a new hotel brand, but it’s so disappointing as we were humiliated by the Anantara Bophut Koh Samui - Vacation club staff. First, we were in a meeting with a male staff. I just wanted to share my understanding on this kind of club membership as I am already member of SPG and Shangri-la hotel group. Then he said no matter we joined or not, their group wouldn’t get bankrupt. We were pretty shocked by his way of presentation as it seems he didn’t bother our time at all - we still showed our respect to finish the meeting but all along his attitude was pretty bad. When we knew the fee structure, we were honest to tell that we could not consider due to financial reason, then he called for another colleague saying to fill up a survey to close the meeting with us disrespectfully. Then a Malaysian lady came to us and asked if we would like to consider joining the membership club to be 2 years only. I was really honest to her that we could not join such prepaid club membership due to financial reason. To our utmost surprise, she then asked us if we understood they were running business, not charity. She repeated this question for two times!! My husband and I felt it’s very humiliating. I then mentioned to her that their sales strategies have to be improved with suggestions provided. We regretted ourselves that we did not push back the reception staff for several times, and now we felt that as tourists to Samui and guests to Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, we were verbally humiliated by vacation club staff by not prepaying money to join the club membership! I think the staff there must get a professional trainer to brush up their communication and sales techniques skills especially they are dealing with guests from all over the world! Read less

I stayed at this beautiful resort in June 2019 for a long weekend with a visiting friend. The grounds are spectacular, especially the spa which is an idyllic indoor/outdoor oasis. The location is convenient - near the fisherman’s village on Bophut beach, which is also excellent for swimming. My only negative comment would be that the rooms aren’t very big for the price point and the toilet/shower area within needs a rethink - terrible glass walls that offer little privacy and nowhere to hang wet bathing suits.
