Buri Rasa Village Koh Phangan

Koh Samui, Thailand

The hotel

Hidden amidst swaying palm trees, the Buri Rasa Village is a little slice of paradise. Overlooking a beautiful stretch of white beach and turquoise waters, accommodation is just a few steps from the beach, with plenty of rooms overlooking the ocean or the swimming pool. Talking of the ocean, it boasts some of the most famous snorkelling and scuba-diving sites in the world so don your wet suit and start exploring! Water sports, in fact, are very much the order of the day here but there are also hiking trails to discover and waterfalls to marvel at. Upon your return, take up residence by the pool and rest for what’s left of the day before heading to the resort’s al fresco restaurant. Combining local ingredients with modern techniques, it’s one of the longest established beach dining spots on Koh Phangan and a joy come sundown when you can feast on local and International delights under a starlit sky.

Rooms very clean, staff extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very delicious and one of the best I’ve ever had in Thailand. The pool is very refreshing and clean and the spa invites to relax everyday with fair prices. Also the minibar prices are very cheap, some things even cheaper as in the supermarkets around. The area around is very calm and clean and there plenty of good restaurants and some supermarkets and also food stands and one mini food court (very delicious) I‘m looking forward for our next stay in Buri Rasa Koh Phangan!! Thanks Dol for the recommendation for our daytrip and animating David and Lola 😜😂😂 Read less

This hotel is superbly situated on what is generally considered as one of the best beaches in the world. Some claim, but I am not going to be the one to disclaim it having spent 10 days without venturing much farther than the village behind the hotel and this was a first for me. Apart from the breakfast (we were in the high season) which would benefit from some professional discipline staff training and an expanded menu, especially for customers that have extended stays. That said the staff are remarkable in their consistent aim to please and provide a very friendly and professional service, this was displayed on our leaving day when it was discovered that we had left a mobile in the room. We were on the boat transferring to Koh Samau for our flight and they got the mobile to us on the next boat and organised it to be delivered to us in departures in time for our flight to KL. Food at the hotel was of a good standard with regular barbecues on the beach. The village has a couple of good and inexpensive restaurants and a passable cocktail bar (recommend early evening when the young kids are mixing) and diving and tour organisers. On the other side of the island you have all the full moon party stuff and this is easily organised, if your into that sort of blast. The pool at the hotel is small, surrounded by rooms and heavily chlorinated, but, hey! you have the wonderful beach to play on. We found traveling around the island prices high unless you can share with others. Finally paying for beach accommodation is well worth the extra with the Buri Rasa beach room being very cool. If using the spa book the room space rather than the pool side places and book Kiki whose Thai massage is superior and worth the extra spa price. We will return to this hotel if returning to the island. Read less

Comfortable clean room with two terraces with shade. The beachclub restaurant has a fantastic breakfast and good diners with daily entertainment in the evening at the beach. All personal is very friendly. The small village has several restaurants, ATM’s, streetfood shops and bars. There is however no nightlife at all. The hotel price/quality ratio is very good, so I can highly recommand it. Read less

Husband and I stayed her from 26th January to 1st February 2019, we had already spent a week on the island of Koh Samui so we were looking forward to a new destination. We choose to use the Resorts dedicated transfer service from Koh Samui to the Resort, which included a speed boat transfer to to Koh Pha Ngan island followed by an air conditioned van to transport us to the resort. We had upgraded to the ocean front room which gave us a front seat to the beautiful ocean in front of our room. Every morning there were towels waiting for us on our sun lounges that were directly outside our room. The room is comfortable , bed is a little hard for my liking but that is the norm for Thailand which I have learned from past holidays. Front of house staff were very helpful by organizing mattress toppers to make the bed a little more comfortable. Buffet breakfast is the usual fare but did get a bit repetitive after a few days but there was enough variety to choose from . Staff know you by name, remember what you drink and were always on hand to assist with anything you needed. We found breakfast although busy, tables were cleared and cleaned quickly and beverages brought to you without having to wait too long. We found dining in the restaurant not too expensive . As mentioned by others who have stayed here, the mini bar prices are on par with prices outside the hotel so there is no need to buy your mini bar items from the local mart. The resort is located among a strip of shops that consisted of other restaurants, mini marts, some boutiques and a number of places to get a massage. The staff are so very helpful and friendly they really made our stay so memorable. I would stay here again and would recommend the ocean front rooms as nothing beats the view of the sea . Falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up to the glistening blue water is what I would call perfect. There were lots of waves in the sea when we stayed , which isn't typical . I think that the hurricane that was around the islands a week or so before had something to do with it. Read less
