A few days into our holiday I feel I should alert people coming to this hotel what they should expect ..... and it’s definitely not a peaceful, relaxing stay! First, though, the good points. The staff are wonderfully friendly and the grounds are lovely and peaceful, you really wouldn’t know you’re a stone’s throw from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng’s Beach Road. Location-wise, if you’re looking for a wide array of lively bars and restaurants, this is the place for you. I would suggest it’s not really for the more mature traveller though! Breakfast is fine, there’s a good selection although it is disappointing that there’s no fresh juice .... I’m guessing it’s all powdered stuff. However ..... you’ll hear the thudding music at night from the place next door. We don’t find it too bad as the sound of air con pretty much drowns it out. You’ll also hear planes taking off and landing, they go right over the hotel, but it’s bearable as the airport isn’t exactly London Heathrow! The biggest downside of all that you should be aware of is the lack of pool etiquette by most of the parents and their children. There are loads of children here and they all think it’s OK to dive bomb into the pool, even if it’s right next to you. I got kicked in the head yesterday and didn’t get an apology. They also bring their inflatables into the pool and basically trample over anyone in the pool with them. Several times, the pool’s been so full of inflatables that there hasn’t been room for other people to get in. And the noise. Oh my god, the noise. Neither pool area is very big so everyone’s on top of one another, so to have children screaming and shouting, right next to you, hour after hour, is awful and actually quite stressful. We got up and left the beach front pool and went to the garden pool, but that was almost as bad. There are signs around the pool asking people not to be noisy, not to dive in, and to be considerate of others but these are blatantly ignored, and none of the staff does anything to enforce the rules (hence the low service rating). They really should make one of the pools adults only and the other one for children and their families. The current situation really isn’t fair on us and the other couples who are being subjected to what is essentially loutish behaviour. If they sorted the pools out this would be a really lovely place, however as it is we can’t wait to leave! Read less

Great place to stay. Second time here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, very relaxing. One suggestion is the garden pool should be adult only, the staff were very friendly Look forward to our next stay.

Too hot to sit in the sun so had a wander along the beach to Chomtalay at Chewang Regent Beach Resort.. Like most beach bars in Chewang, it has a bar when you an watch the world go by.. Wasn’t too busy and the beers were cold.. Food reasonably priced but there is a 17% service and VAT charge added but we don’t come on holiday to save money..

When my friends and I arrived at Samui airport, we were greeted with our friendly driver whom kindly loaded our luggage and drove us to the resort that were looking forward to staying for our short time in Koh Samui. When we arrived, the resort definitely looked like it was a 5 star resort! We were greeted by the friendly lady “Jeed” who took care of our check-in process. She brought us a tray of refreshments whilst finalising our paperwork and motorcycle hire through the resort. Even though not all the rooms were ready yet, as we did arrive early before check-in time, she was able to organise 2 of 5 of our premium rooms so we could put our belongings in the room and explore for a little while, whilst she organised the other 3 rooms. When we came back at 2pm she had everything ready to go including our motorcycles. Our stay was amazing to say the least. Everyday we would return to our rooms that had been cleaned, and organised. They even folded some clothes I neglected to pickup off the floor and put on the couch for me. The service was top notch! The staff were amazing! Definitely felt like we stayed at a 5 star resort! I would highly recommend anyone that is going to Koh Samui, to give Chaweng Regent Beach Resort a go. I would definitely love to stay at Chaweng Regent Beach Resort again when I return to Koh Samui! The hotel has loads of potential but is not perfect yet. First, we came to a very old room. There was mold in the shower, couldn't see anything on the TV screen because it was shaking. The hotel has loads of potential but is not perfect yet. First, we came to a very old room. There was mold in the shower, couldn't see anything on the TV screen because it was shaking. The room needs renovation. After complaining to the front desk we were moved to another room, this room was perfect! Beautiful, new, designed. The same room but just renovated. Most room are new and very well designed. I deliberately don't upload pictures from the previous room, because I don't want anyone who looks at the review to think that this is how all the rooms look. Very nice breakfast, varied and delicious. So why is the score low? When we arrived to the new room the safe was locked. We called every day to ask them to come open it.we called few times every day. In aggregate, i think we called more than 15 times (!!). A very nice woman came once, but couldn't open the safe. She said she's gonna send someone the next morning at 7:30 am, no one arrived. The problem was never solved, we also called the evening before our last day at the hotel. They said they would send someone to handle it, they never did. The room was really beautiful but the service is problematic, and as is said our problem was never fixed. I do want to say that staff was very nice, when they changed our room. Read less
