I’ve had a few!!!! The resort is right on the beach. Both restaurants serve amazing food. Breakfast was lots of variety and plenty of it. Best part of all the staff, so caring and thoughtful. A big thank you to YEO and SAN for their continuous, kind, happy, hard work each day which made us feel very welcome and special. Top 2 workers in this resort. Thank you. Read less

We stayed in June 2019 for a catch up with friends and this was the ideal location. We had a spa villa suite and they stayed in a Deluxe Regency room with their 3 year old so we had the best of both worlds. They had a balcony right by the pool and we had privacy in the beautiful grounds. We both had fridges with a mini bar but room for our own things, toiletries in pump dispensers, fruit plate on arrival, replenished tea and instant coffee, slippers, flipflops, umbrellas and a beach bag. The suite had dressing gowns and a nespresso type coffee machine as well as a huge bed. The beds were hard, but they provided a mattress topper on request which made them more comfortable. Both rooms were air conditioned, but the suite also had a ceiling fan. Our friends asked and were provided with a portable fan so they didn't have to sleep with the A/C on. They also had insect repellent to purchase, which you will need if you don't bring your own. In the room was mostly ok as they come around and fumigate regularly, but anywhere outside, even in the daytime, there were bugs biting - not just in the resort but everywhere on the island. We were impressed with the cleanliness and ongoing maintenance at the resort and with the helpfulness, politeness and friendliness of the staff. In particular Suda at the Chom Talay restaurant at breakfast and Pang at the Pool Bar. All were really great with the little girl and we felt safe and happy with her there. Food: Breakfast had great international variety and plenty of it - anything that ran out was quickly restocked. The hotel was quite busy but there were plenty of tables available. They do pack up at 10:30am prompt. The only thing we would like improved would be the temperature of the coffee. It was served from insulated flasks, but was often lukewarm. There were lunch specials every day which were generous in portions, and not too expensive. The real bonus was that you could use the call button by your lounger at the pool or beach and have someone bring you a menu and take your order! We only ate in the hotel one evening as there was so much choice on the street outside. We went to the Pirate BBQ with Fire Show (although there were better fire shows down the beach on other nights). The BBQ buffet was unlimited with fish, lamb, beef, prawns and oysters in addition to a pasta station, veg, sushi and desserts. Everything we tried was well cooked and tasty although we felt it was quite expensive when compared to the many eateries within a 10 minute walk. The romantic dinner on the beach looked lovely although again was expensive. Drinks: happy hour from a limited menu of cocktails was good at 250 baht for 2 the same - otherwise the drinks seemed a little on the expensive side when compared to drinks outside the hotel, especially when adding on the 10% service charge and 7% tax which aren't included in the headline price (except, strangely, with the glasses of beer which seemed to have it included). Beach: lots of loungers, small beach with white sand, a sort of reef meant the water was very warm and shallow, but we walked 100 yards or so up the beach when we wanted to swim (or went in the beach pool) and found the lagoon was great for children and using with inflatables as there was no risk of being swept out to sea. Pools: The Garden Pool was quieter and shady spots could be found. We enjoyed the swim up bar at happy hour. The Beach Pool had more of a vibe and more children, there was a jacuzzi pool and a shallow pool for kids, but the other end was quite deep. They were both attractive and were kept clean and both had loungers with call buttons for food and drinks. There were plenty of towels for the pool and beach, but the staff probably needed to keep a closer eye on people just leaving them on the loungers and going elsewhere. Location: ideal for us. Just on the edge of the party area - we could hear the Ark Bar and the Cabaret Bar if we were outside in the evening, but when we closed the door it was quiet. The planes fly over during the day, but we didn't find them a problem - I think it would be the same anywhere on Chaweng Beach. We felt safe on the grounds of the hotel and outside. There were many bars and restaurants within a few minutes' walk, along with shops, pharmacy, market stalls, a 7/11, money exchange booths and a taxi rank. The local "buses" also pass regularly. In summary, we had a great time and would definitely consider the hotel again if we return to Koh Samui. Read less

Literally in the heart of Chaweng but also on the beach so has a view, with a great tropical resort vibe. -The pools are lovely - I liked the quietness of the garden pool which seemed devoid of children!! It was a good depth too (1.1-1.5m deep) so good for swimming. -My room was awesome - giant comfortable bed, great bathroom and semi-outdoor bath. -Just 10-15min drive from the airport and the hotel organises easy transfers. Negatives: -Breakfast is expensive if not included (800 baht/person). -The beach directly in front of the resort isn’t a swimming beach (it’s tidal almost like a little lagoon). Read less

This is our 2nd trip to Koh Samui but our 1st time at Chaweng Regent Beach Hotel. We are booked into 2 premier rooms with interleading doors. Our arrival was dealt with efficiently by a friendly reception staff late on Monday night. Our rooms are large and spacious with a kettle and coffee, tea and Milo provided at no extra charge and 2 bottles of water per room per day. The room also has an electronic safe and a small fridge. I asked for the mini bar items to be removed and this was done immediately. You can stock up with your own minibar necessities from the 7 11 market directly across the road. The hotel gardens and rooms are well maintained and immaculate. We stayed in room 107 and 108. The bathroom was large and had a big shower and jacuzzi bath. Our rooms also had a private balcony with chairs which you can enjoy looking out onto the beautiful gardens. The restaurant staff were friendly and polite and our entire experience has been very positive and we will definitely return. There are 2 magnificent swimming pools. The first is near the breakfast area and along side the beach. The pool area was clean and the pool was sparkling everyday. The 2nd pool is more sheltered and has a pool bar with chairs inside the pool. Happy hour at 17h00 had cocktails available at 2 for the price of 1. The beach infront of the hotel is neat and clean and shallow and not suitable for swimming. However you can enjoy the beach and hire a SUP or kayak and enjoy the shallow beach. A short walk down the beach and you are right at the best swimming spot on Chaweng Beach. The hotel is directly opposite a busy market and you will find all your shopping requirements met by the local traders. Don't forget to haggle and barter for a good price. Markets open from 11h00. Within walking distance you will find many excellent restaurants, money exchange stations, laundries, tour agents and entertainment galore- bars, cabaret shows and dodgy massage parlors. Breakfast is a grand affair with all tastebuds been catered for- this includes an amazing selection of local fruits, a cappuccino station, pancakes, waffles, cakes, pastries, pastas, steam buns, salad, various cheeses and cold meats, sushi, soups, curries, baked beans, bacon, sausages, potatoes and an egg station. There is also a juice bar. You will be spoilt for choice. A gem in the Chaweng Beach Crown. This hotel is under constant maintenance and we have seen the teams of workers daily painting, varnishing and cleaning. The gardens also seem to be a constant work in progress. Ideal location for our teenagers but not noisy despite being in the heart of the action. Read less

On recommendation of family who stayed here previously we spent 10 nights here in a Deluxe Regency room with our Three year old daughter & a couple we had planned to reunite with here. The hotel grounds are luxuriant & beautiful. We stayed in room 183 overlooking the garden pool . The room was newly refurbed & outstanding with large outdoor bath off a very spacious modern shower & bathroom area. Hotel staff were genuine, welcoming, helpful & accommodating of our active Three year old! Breakfast was of a top standard with a vast choice on offer. The swim up bar in the garden pool is a highlight! I would return to this beautiful hotel in a heartbeat. Read less
