Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort & Spa

Krabi, Thailand

The hotel

Reserving itself a relatively peaceful pitch along the otherwise popular postcard-perfect Ao Nang Beach, this sea-facing sanctuary gives you the best of both worlds — seaside seclusion and all the life and fun of Krabi. This brand new beachfront hotel is ideal for those wanting to lounge by the large free-form pool or beachfront terrace during the day and take a short stroll down to Krabi’s local restaurants and bars for the evening. It also comes with all the benefits of being a new hotel on the block, including bright contemporary décor, the latest in-room mod cons, and long-favoured luxuries like Thai-inspired treatments at Spa Cenvaree.

Been to Thailand many times and thought we’d try Centara as I have seen them around everywhere. We were not disappointed. Great service, food and sleeping was perfect. Thank you. We will see you again.

The beach is beautiful and I’m glad Centara offered sunbeds right at the beach (this seems to be rare compared to the other hotels next door). In some other reviews I read that people didn’t like the fact that non hotel guests passed through the hotel facilities as the promenade is between the pool and the sunbeds by the beach, but we weren’t bothered by it at all. Initially we booked the normal standard room category but decided spontaneously to ask if there were any other rooms available for an extra fee. Bua was very nice and assisted us, making the check in process very quick and smooth. We ended up taking a room facing the sea with a private plunge pool and loved jumping in our pool in the evening and early in the morning - the extra charge was definitely worth it. We would also like to thank Play and Anwa for the support during our stay. Read less

We only stayed one night in a family residence. Great room for families. Large amount of space. Bunk beds for kids in separate rooms (note the beds were pretty hard). Good bathroom. Good breakfast. Walking distance to Ao Nang restaurants and bars. One downside was that the pool closes at 7pm. Should stay open later.

Fantastic hotel which was great for our young family. We opted for the swim up pool, which was well worth it. Fantastic location for walking into town. Restaurants/bars all close by. Room, pool and facilities were all excellent. The Kids Club staff were brilliant as well. Only downside was the quality of the food, hence the 4/5. Having said that,… Read more

Good points: The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk to the main Ao Nang beach, shops etc but on a slightly quieter end so the beach is good outside the hotel. The beach bar had some good entertainment in the evenings including live music and fire shows. From Ao Nang you can go on lots of brilliant trips around the area. We did a 4 island trip and a trip to Phi Phi. Breakfast had a good choice including an egg station. The room was spacious and clean. Staff were always friendly. Not so good points: The hotel seemed very noisy, crowded and busy. One of the main issues is that there are not enough sun lounges with shade. The main pool is huge but has a really small amount of lounges and many have no umbrella which completely put us off using the pool. People put their towels down before 8am and despite saying the hotel would remove towels on loungers not being used they never did anything. Another issue was service. We found the service really hit and miss at the pool bar (the only place to eat at the hotel in the afternoon/evening). One evening we didn’t get our drinks until we had finished our food and one lunchtime we had to cancel the order because the food took so long to come and we had to leave to get a flight. Read less
