It seems that the hotel plays on the fact that you are basically isolated there and they have extrmely high price for anything! We stayed there for 3 days and we had a final bill of extras of 30.000 without doing anything extreme and being very carefull with our order..it is not the 5* i visit but this kind of prices are quite an insult! Also the transfer that you need to take from the airport to the hotel and return is extremely expensive comared with other hotels! The services offered are average, the food at the restaurants is ok and the breakfast was quite poor in the variety and the quality of the food. Finally the room is quite disappointing and everywhere is full of mosquitos! Read less

If you look at this resort quickly on the travel websites like Agoda, as I did, and read a few reviews (can't be genuine!) and look at the price (the mostly costly in Railay), then you would be forgiven for thinking you are in for a treat! Luxury experience right? I booked quickly for 13,000 BHT night (£350pn). Firstly, there is no road to this place, so you need a boat (1,800 BHT return each for the hotel boat!). Yes, they will charge you even though you have no other way to get there! When you arrive, you realise pretty soon, that someone has stolen your expected holiday treat away. You would struggle to fault the attitude of the staff, but the place is a dated 4 star at best, masquerading at a 5 star luxury. The view is nice enough, if you can see past all the hoards of tourists that flock to "private beaches" all day on cheap noisy, diesel boats. The rooms? Well, most of the rooms are two storey huts. Dark and dated. Probably considered chic in the 1980's. Nothing at all to do after about 9.30pm especially. So you may want to order room service right? What about a 650BHT burger, bound to be good at a 5 star place? Wow! This was our first food experience here. A rock hard (they only serve well done, we were informed) dry, bland burger with stale bread bun, a few chips and a pot of ketchup. A chocolate fondant with no fondant center, again dry and hard. You cannot trap people here and serve them 2 star food at 5 star prices. Little better in the restaurants! Wow! Read less

From the moment we arrived we felt like part of the family. Everyone made us feel so special and Joy and Aom looked after our every need. Every single staff member including security was happy, kind, helpful and willing to help with anything you needed. Now onto the resort. What a stunning setting. 3 beaches surrounding us and all beautiful and picturesque. As others have said, you cannot take a photo of this place that captures the true beauty of it. You have to be here to experience it. There is something for everyone from total relaxation and pampering to adventure and exploring. The food was incredible at all restaurants and due to low season we felt like the only ones in the resort at time. Mosquitoes were a problem, nothing that could be helped though so bring plenty of repellent. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone and are sad to be leaving tomorrow. We will return to this heaven soon. Thank you to everyone, especially Joy, Aom, Bee and Susan. You are all amazing xx Read less

I’m not a resort girl. Not really. I find the experience too manufactured, and too far removed from the local cultures I seek to interact with. A level of discomfort to me is a good sign that an adventure is at hand. However- Rayavadee is a different kind of place entirely. It has everything to do with its location. We are still here now and plan to extend our stay. We are surrounded by the kind of beautiful land and seascapes that blow your mind. Photos can never really capture it. The steep cliffs and caves surrounding gorgeous white sand beaches is prehistoric- I can just imagine a pterodactyl soaring over any second. You can explore the caves- two of which have penis shrines inside (On one beach, Phranang- there are three connected to the resort) and monkeys cavorting. You can stroll along a stretch of caves with incredible stalactite and stalagmite formations. Walking on the beach is incredible but even more so at low tide when you can explore even more caves or walk over the outcropping to Ton Sai beach, which you can only do at low tide. There is a walking street- little souvenir shops galore and funky bars and some really great seafood, so don’t feel that you are limited to Rayavadee restaurants, which can be pricey. The best thing I ate there was the raw scallops at the Grotto- heavenly. The breakfast buffet is a beautiful spread. Keep your eyes peeled for the little spectacled monkeys and the macaques- the little ones don’t make a big fuss like the macaques. Remember the macaques WILL try to get in your bags and see if you have food, if they climb on you just start walking away and don’t freak out because they have really big sharp teeth. Don’t feed any monkeys anything even if you see others doing it. It’s tempting but it ruins the monkeys. Our bungalow was amazing, bed was extremely comfortable. I would ask for a bungalow with more light- they are in the jungle and some in the shadow of the cliffs which can be gloomy. We were in 217 and it had better light than most. The options for AC are either off or cold. There is a ceiling fan. Luna was our go to person for our stay and she was fabulous in every way! You will be assigned someone who handles all your bookings and reservations and concerns. They are all super sweet. Best pool set up ever- Kee is lovely, one of the pool attendants. You really won’t have to think of a thing except what you feel like doing that day. Make sure to explore all the beaches, especially when the tide goes out and you can climb into all the cool sea caves. I would not only recommend but INSIST you give this experience to yourself. It’s unparalleled! And ask for Luna. She’s the best. Read less

Sitting at the heart of a stunning peninsula on the edge of Krabi National Marine Park, in Railay, Krabi, Rayavadee is nestled in between lush green tropical gardens, surrounded on not-one-not-two-but three sides by pristine white sand beaches (Railay, Nammao, and Phranang Beach), crowned by dramatic limestone cliffs, crystal clear turquoise water of Andaman Sea, and exotic caverns and caves. Undoubtedly, this is one of Thailand’s finest beachfront properties and no need to say one of our all-time favorite. Waking up to the sound of monkeys, hearing the soft sounds of the waves touching the shore, feeling the gentle outdoor breeze as the sun warmly touches your face, pampering your style with sumptuous 75 mins spa, sipping Pina Colada as the sun kisses the horizon goodbye with the last beam of the golden hue, enjoying the romantic all candle lit dinner for two under the cave by the beach, and falling asleep under the stars to the sound of a thousand chirruping crickets, if you are ready for the all-out tropical indulgence, checking in this way. Thailand radiance golden hue from its glittering temples to drop-dead gorgeous tropical white-sand-beaches to those exotic James Bond made famous islands to daily picture perfect sunsets. This place is no exception. The jungle-style mushroom shape pavilions are dotted among the natural fauna and flora of this stunning national park, featuring one of the most beautiful Instagram made famous “Phranang Beach” where cinematic limestone cliffs meet azure water. Getting there is made easy with numerous direct flights from Bangkok to Krabi. From the airport, we were picked-up from the chauffeur with 20 minutes private car ride to the pier, followed up 25 minutes of private speedboat ride to the resort. Upon our arrival at Rayavadee, Railay welcomed us with his greatest charm; backdrops of dramatics limestone karats, clear turquoise water, three sides gorgeous white sand beaches, and the private cave that flirts with the ocean into the endless horizon. Coconut trees casted tropical shadow on the white sand as we walked into the resort. Lush green floral garden teaming up with tranquil ponds to form the perfect pathway to our Pool Pavilion villa. As we looked up our eyes meet with that of our neighbors, a family of Dusky Leaf Monkeys who were sitting peacefully on the branches of Bodhi tree in front of our villa. We like what we see the 3 x 8 meters private pool with spacious sun lodge and terrace setting in our mini jungle home, with wooden furnishings completing the luxury eco-friendly colonial-style vibe. We took the first dip to freshen up the day. There are two options for breakfast venue. Our daily favorite is Railay Terrace, this beach front restaurant offers a la carte breakfast menu which blends Asian and Western cuisine together meaning that you can request heavy meal like Hainan Chicken Rice, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew all the way to western’s favorites like Egg Benedict, Croque Madam with shaved black truffle, Freshly made Belgian Waffles with fresh berries, and  Chia See Smoothie Bowls. Food is amazing here, you cannot leave the place stopping by “Krua Pharang” which offers Authentic Thai food with open air seating and view featuring breath stopping beach front view of Phranang Cave (Do yourself a favor by ordering these; Nua Yang Jim Jeaw, Gaeng Nua Yang Lam Yai Pai Chaploo, Gaeng Kai Yang Lychee) and by “Grotto” the hidden gem of Rayavadee, this ultra-romantic restaurant is nestled under an ancient limestone cliff on the edge of Phranang Beach offering Caribbean-like barbecue candle lit dinner. We are so obsessed with the place that we have decided to get married here. Yes, I think this pretty much sums up our true love not to Grotto but to Rayavadee as a whole. There is no other place like it. We are so excited to be making more beautiful memories here. In a place where we can sincerely say “Home Away From Home”. Until we meet again, and that will not be long. Read less
