The hotel

The setting for this award-winning Thai hideaway is just about as tropical screen-saver as you can ever imagine; with limestone cliffs and palm trees juxtaposed against white sand and the warm blues of the Andaman Sea. Thanks to the location, adjacent to Krabi Marine National Park, you'll find no end of excuses to stroll and soak up the scenery with beautiful gardens, coconut groves and faraway islands helping to pleasure all of your senses. Rayavadee's award-winning architecture also pays homage to the surrounding environment and local culture with an arrangement of exceptional guest pavilions presenting an authentic and calming Thai village ambience. Every year we go to Thailand and like to spend a few days in Bangkok followed by two nights somewhere new before we go onto our favourite island. This year we chose Rayavadee for the two nights, it looked really nice form the website and reviews. overall it is a lovely hotel; the staff are extremely efficient and very friendly and make sure that you are comfortable. The breakfast is very good with a wide selection of foods to choose from and well made. The villa, we had a Deluxe Villa, is exceptional overall, it is spacious, clean and has almost every amenity you could wish for, it was very comfortable and a delight to spend time in. The accommodation is luxurious and has managed to mix the modern with traditional exceptionally well. The grounds of the hotel are massive, and takes an age to walk around, they are very well maintained and beautiful to look at, there is an abundance of wildlife to see and it is overall peaceful. However, there are some negatives about the resort. There is no beach to speak of as although there are three right on the resort’s doorstep, they are inundated with tourists that the boats bring every hour, the boats that are very noisy and you can hear them throughout the resort. There is also a bar or club on the island that plays loud music until 12:00 or 1:00 each night that you can clearly hear from your villa. The villa has no radio downstairs, a small oversight that would have been nice to have. There are also not enough power sockets in the bedroom, and this caused a minor irritation. When we arrived we were not given flower garlands, although the 3 couples in front of us got them. These things may seem minor, and on the whole they are, but the resort is very expensive and for this price bracket you do not expect any minor issues at all. Read less

I have no problem with the hotel. The house we had was perfect. This was such a welcoming and smooth experience from the beginning! We were picked up and transported from the airport and received by reception with understanding, flowers, drinks and a cold towel! We ended up needed to book an additional room right then and there! I was worried they were going to be upset with the hassle but they were so accommodating and made us ALL feel welcome even though we added a room last minute. The nature all around is STUNNING. The breakfast was the best I've ever had, I love that it changes slightly every morning so you aren't eating the same thing. The entire staff was so warm and welcome, I felt like our room was cleaned multiple times a day and was impressed! I have not one bad thing I could say about this place! Will be recommending to everyone I know! Read less
