The hotel

The setting for this award-winning Thai hideaway is just about as tropical screen-saver as you can ever imagine; with limestone cliffs and palm trees juxtaposed against white sand and the warm blues of the Andaman Sea. Thanks to the location, adjacent to Krabi Marine National Park, you'll find no end of excuses to stroll and soak up the scenery with beautiful gardens, coconut groves and faraway islands helping to pleasure all of your senses. Where to begin? What superlatives could even begin to accurately describe the beauty, tranquillity and sheer indulgence of this incredible, world class resort. The speedboat transfer with friendly and immaculately turned out crew give a sample of the experience that awaits. Once you arrive on the emerald shores you are met by the wonderful staff of the resort (Fang) who offer you a welcome drink, cold towel and a brief orientation of the resort before walking you to your own little piece of real estate for the duration of your stay. And what a piece of real estate it is. A two story luxury abode set into the tropical landscape of the resort and appointed luxuriously but also thoughtfully and tastefully. All the pavilions are laid out similarly but they are also logistically placed so that no ones bedroom looks into anyone elses, thus ensuring a level of privacy that has clearly been though out. We should have paid more attention as we were walked to our pavilion because we got lost walking home every night.....but that was half the fun. You could always request a golf cart if you were lazy. The main pool is a site to behold. The photos give you an idea of it, but nothing prepares you for seeing it and the surrounding landscape, with your own eyes. The image is now a memory I hope never to forget. Both Phra Nang Beach and Railay Beach offer wonderful scenery and the Sunsets, on Phra Nang Beach in particular, are some of the most beautiful that I have ever seen. Especially whilst sipping on a glass of Champagne at the Grotto. Much has been said of the fact that these are public beaches and this is true. However, if you want to see the beach empty, silent and in all it's natural beauty, all you have to do is get up early. The first boats arrive at 8am prompt but before this they are completely empty. 7am - 8am would be my recommendation. All the restaurants at Rayavadee are wonderful and the quality of the ingredients, service and ambience is unparalleled. You WILL pay a price for this so don't come without the American Express Card ;-) The flora and fauna is such an important part of Rayavadee and there is lots of information about this in your Pavilion but believe me...you will see Monkeys, you will see Monitor Lizards and goodness knows what else. Nothing quite prepares you for when you first see a troupe of Spectacled Langurs swinging through the trees, a matter of metres away from you. Every contact that you have with the team members at the hotel is a treat. Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel special. If you have the time and the money to book one of their private speedboat tours....do it. We felt like rock stars, Island Hopping on our own twin engine speedboat with a crew of three looking after us was unforgettable. When it's finally time to leave and you push off on the speedboat, with the hotel staff waving you goodbye until the resort disappears from site, you will resign yourself to one single goal......to come back to Rayavadee again. We did get lost locating our room a few times; the accommodation was simple set over two floors with plenty of space and a well appointed bathroom. You’re never short of tea, cookies or other items. It was awesome to see monkeys and enjoy the surroundings. We visited during Coronavirus so the resort was exceptionally quiet. The pool area was comfortable with nice treats such as ice lollies etc. The drinks service could have been more proactive. There was a great selection of restaurants all attended by super friendly staff. I’d definitely return Read less

Highly recommend splurging and upgrading to a private pool pavilion, they are breathtaking. The F&B offering is amazing, some of the best authentic Thai dishes in the country and a credit to the team. Strolling around the property the team are all so welcoming, helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble. If you are searching for a quiet, private and luxurious getaway, look no further. Three night stay - wish we’d booked longer. Stunningly beautiful resort - rooms are spread out through a tropical paradise with the best location, fronting onto three idyllic beaches. We had a basic room - two storey, beautifully furnished and equipped, spacious, immaculately clean and well-serviced by staff. Stunning areas to relax - take your time investigating, because we found new ones all the time, and they’re very unexpected - eg a grotto area. The beaches can get busy from day boat trips, but you can’t blame them - the beaches and views are to die for. The private areas separated off for the hotel are well cared for and spacious - you never feel crowded here. Breakfast is stunning - beautifully cooked and presented, everything you could possibly want. Staff are lovely, friendly and happy. Lots of things to do - kayaking, snorkelling. Pool area is beautiful. The little touches are what makes this place so deserving of the most praise - at the pool you’re constantly offered “treats” - a cold towel, cold water with fruit in it, a fruit juice ice lolly, a cool fruit smoothie. As well as tremendous service - a first class stay. Do as many nights as you can to explore everything the resort has to offer. Close to loads of lovely bars and restaurants too. Read less

Even now after some time, our friends and family praise how beautiful our wedding was. We are always reminded about how amazing the food was and the fire show! A massive thank you to Khun Pin for planning the most amazing wedding one can ever hope to have! Pin was extremely professional. She was supportive when changing our minds, open to ideas, transparent about costs and we genuinely could feel her pride and happiness to be part of our special day. I'd also like to make a special note about Luna. What a gem! She greeted us upon check in and it was likely being welcomed by a family member. Their commitment levels to making sure we had an amazing stay was high, they both offered us their whatsapp information so we could make contact at any time. We tried not to bother them but Luna was always the first message I received with a "Good morning, how are you today?" It was lovely! All of our 20 guests have been keeping an eye on holiday dates to return and so have we! It was so sad to leave and we cannot wait to come back and celebrate our wedding anniversary in future. Definitely recommend Rayavadee for luxury and their service ! Read less
