There are beautiful plants and flowers and a lot of wildlife ( monkeys, lizards, fish and so on). Staff is very friendly. Check in went very well. A 75 minutes massage was included, so that was a great surprise! The restaurants are very nice and breakfast is great. Beaches and swimming pool are great. Pool boys are very friendly and accommodating. Some people complain about the noise from the beach, but for us this was not a problem. Maybe it’s worse in high season. The small walking street near Railiay beach is not interesting. We went there once but preferred to stay at the resort. Highly recommended for a great stay at a luxurious resort. We just came from an Ananatara resort and in my opinion they are just a step ahead in service and hospitality so I gave them 5 stars and Rayavadee 4 stars. But is a great resort at a special location. Read less

We stayed 11 days at Rayavadee Resort and from the very beginning we had a great impression of it. The shuttle picked us up at Krabi airport, already with a fantastic service. Once we arrived at the resort the gave us a flower bracelet, a very warm welcome and guided us to the lobby. They brought us a lovely cocktail while they arranged the check in and explained us about the facilities. So it was easy and fast. They took us and our luggage to the room, very cosy house with 2 floors and 2 toilets (they come at least twice a day to make up your room and bring fresh fruit, cookies and chocolates!) The pay very much attention to the details, they are extremely polite and want to do their best for you all the time, no matter if its a manager, a waitress or the gardener. Every member of the staff was amazingly friendly and did a great job, every single day. So we were really satisfied with the service, you can't find this service and politeness anywhere in Europe, for sure. The resort itself is beautiful, like lost in the jungle with a beautiful traditional decoration. The 4 restaurants are very nice and have good quality food, also varied so you won't get bored. The buffet for breakfast is not that big, but they have breakfast A la carte that's included in the price, so you will have more than enough options to choose from, both western and asian. The gardens (you will probably come across monkeys and lizards, that makes it very special too at least for animal lovers like we are) and swimming pool are fantastic, you have access to 3 beaches at a very short walking distance and even buggy service if you don't want to walk. The SPA is very recommendable, beautiful and peaceful place with very nice treatments and again great service. The activity center is very nice if you want to do some excursions (yes, they seem expensive if you compare them to the prices you can find on the street, but remember they arrange absolutely everything for you from door to door and give you a very exclusive experience with private boats/shuttles, totally worth it). The only bad thing of this place are the mosquitos, they are fierce!! haha. The hotel has permanently mosquito spray in the room for you, but I would recommend to buy the strongest one you can find at a pharmacy before you fly to Thailand. I could talk for ages about things we liked about this place, but it's nicer if you discover it yourself. To sum up, we have been completely spoiled at Rayavadee and treated almost like royalty. We had a great time an enjoyed chatting with members of the staff all over the resort. If you smile and treat people kindly, you can expect they will be 200% grateful and will go the extra mile for you, as they did with us. Beautiful place, lovely people, we would love to come back one day! Thank you again for everything Rayavadee team! Read less

If you want to disconnect (even if there is WiFi!), and be part of a preserved nature, come and visit Rayavadee, just like us! This place is really unique. You are right in the middle of a jungle, full of paradise birds and funny monkeys playing in the trees. Thanks to the management, you can discover all the species of flowers while walking in the property. White sand beaches surrounds the property and you feel like in a quiet nest, away from the traditional Thaï boats ballet. All the villas are beautifully decorated and designed. Food is really outstanding. You will love the original tastes and flavors of the cuisine, from the breakfast to the dinner. There are 4 different restaurants, near the beach and the cristal water pool, in a grotto,... The staff is full of kindness and professional. Special mention to Romain, whose main concern is to make your stay unforgettable. And he succeeds! Next to the pool, laid back luxury, you are refreshed by delicious fresh fruits pickles or sorbets cups. I love it! I did appreciate the spa. We brought typical Thaï craftsmanship from the boutique. We arrived at the start of April. The airport transfer was just a mess. We arrived off the plane, (after travelling over 17 hours to get here) to find that the man waiting at the airport had no clue what he was doing and we had to take his piece of paper to tell him who we were and what van we had to get on. We got into the air conditioned van which was full of flying ants. We then got onto the transfer boat, and got off at the beach and off onto the sand. They did bring our suitcases to the room for us. There was no formal check in process, we were sat in the lobby and given a talk and overview of their map of the resort. Then we was shown our room, a quick brief on what we could eat and drink within the room and then our cases arrived. Rooms are full of mosquitos and no attempt to help get rid of them was made. Rooms were spacious and clean, and cleaning was done 2-3 times a day. Beaches were not that of a ‘5 star resort’. Polluted by continuous long tail boats, tourist’s trying to sneak into the hotel, which if you say to the security guard ‘oh we are staying here’ the answer was always ‘oh yes’ and no attempt was made to actually prove that you were staying at the hotel. This annoyed us massively because we had paid ridiculous amounts of money to stay here and yet tourists were just making themselves at home using our toilets, pool, and facilities. The hotel had pathways marked to get to all various parts of the resort. You would need a flashlight to walk around on the nighttime, one so you don’t break your neck on the uneven broken pathways but also as to not step on any wildlife animals. Very boring and dated appearance of the whole resort. Not worth the money spent to come here at all. Restaurant prices were over the top, one meal here for one person is more than going out of the resort to a local restaurant for two people to have a meal each with drinks. Just ridiculous. Some staff were pleasant and friendly, some staff were just rude. I don’t understand why or how this is a 5 star resort, nothing has the wow factor that you’d expect for all the money spent. We were here for a week, and after day 2 I just wanted to go home. Wouldn’t return to holiday in Thailand again. Not a nice experience from the time we landed to the time we went home. Read less

The other one, Phra Nang, is a very narrow strip of sand that disappears with medium-high tides (most of the time). Additionally, it hosts a temple that hundreds of daily trippers come to see with large boats that offloads them for half a day on the resort beach. As a consequence, dozens of boats are parked, leave and arrive in front of you all the time. Again, the rest of the hotel is nice, the jungle amazing, staff is very kind, but in my opinion you can’t deserve and keep 5 stars as a beach resort in Thailand with those beaches.
