Six Senses Yao Noi

Phuket, Thailand

The hotel

Nestled on a small island in breathtaking Phang Nga Bay, Six Senses Yao Noi is an escape destination like no other. Built on the site of a former rubber plantation, the resort's lush landscaped gardens and mangrove forests provide a haven for local wildlife and hide a selection of beautifully rustic but thoroughly contemporary guest villas, representing an uncompromised level of luxury. The attention to detail and focus on the destination reinforces the resort's commitment to the environment. Each villa has its own infinity-edged pool with sundeck and is attended to by a personal villa team, trained to anticipate your every whim. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining at Six Senses Yao Noi. The Hilltop Restaurant is an exclusive venue with extraordinary views of Phang Nga Bay, whilst the Dining Room offers fine dining and a glass floor with a meandering creek beneath. For something a little more personal, dine at the Chef's Table or allow your butler to arrange a champagne breakfast, a private picnic or an evening barbecue beneath the stars. Be sure to visit the spa, one of Asia’s finest, set in a traditional Thai longhouse and offering a wealth of treatments and yoga programs. You can also enjoy a choice of cultural excursions, bicycle tours and cooking classes. But the greatest star is the bay; perhaps one of the best spots in Thailand to sail, kayak or simply lay back and marvel at the collection of limestone sentinels rising purposefully out of the turquoise sea.

we (2 adults, child 7 and child 12) visited the hotel before new year. That means december 2018. It was our second visit to the hotel. The first was 10 years ago. I wanted to go back as I remember the hotel as fantastic. Well maybe I forgot that the room I had the first time had the most amazing view and the room we got now was above the boath access, kids club and thaiboxing area. So the questness from the first visit was absolutely not the same. The resort is 'setteled' the vegitation is great as it is getting old.. but that also means that the place itself really need some maintainance. As I understand the ownership has changed since our first visit and that apparently mean that they want o make money and not keep the hotel in its original very envirometal shape. The wooded floors and other wood area as been covered with someting that looses the original feeling. First time we visited there was no main pool. The 'President suite' has since been take into use so that pool is the main pool.. the area around the pool is not mantained well. And the main pool service is quite slow. The beach was closed all through our stay because of Jellyfish. As last time it has the worst mini barn in the world ;o) When that is said I really like the food at the hotel and we had the best butler called NamNam.. If I could take him home with me to my private househould I would have done so. The SPA is fantastic!!! We visited a local marine area.. fisherman.. that was a fantastic good experience and the lady responsible for that was just fantastic. I do like the hotel but it was not as I remembered. Read less

Have honestly never experienced anything close to the service (or lack thereof) at this (5* ?!?) hotel. We were staying in Ao Nang and went to Koh Yao Noi on a reconassaince excursion to find nice prospective hotels to stay in. Had heard good things about Six Senses so decided to drop in to the hotel to check it out in person as often doctored pictures and/or reviews online are not to be trusted. When we arrived at the hotel (check point) we were treated like persona non grata. We asked if we could come into the hotel, perhaps for a cocktail and or lunch. This request was met by a lot of apprehension and anxiety by the hotel clipboard militia. After many phone calls to the front desk and minutes waiting, we were told the hotel was too busy to entertain us for a tour. We clarified we were more than happy just to have a look on our own devices. This required more stuttering by the unprofessional and unaimiable staff. Again after much deliberation, this request was deamed too much for the hotel. It was suggested perhaps we should come back another day. Have never been treated like such a paperless refugee in all my vast travelling experience. I would recommend you avoid this hotel at all costs. You will have more fun and better service at the worst Holiday Inn. Read less

We enjoyed a night away from the children at this beautiful resort. It is simply stunning - the location is so picturesque on the hills looking out to sea. The staff are wonderful and so helpful and friendly. From the host on the transfer service - Kun Nut to Kun Ma our villa host who took great care of us. We ate lunch at the Hilltop restaurant which was delicious and had a fantastic Thai meal at the all day dining restaurant. The best for me was breakfast - we collected our own eggs from the hens and ducks and they cooked them for us in a variety of ways. What a fantastic resort! We wish we could have stayed longer! The Six Senses Yao Noi is: wonderful! We've stayed at a lot of beautiful hotels/resorts around the globe. But this hotel is in our top 3! First of all the transfer service to the hotel with there private speedboot is: superb. Even for people who don't like bootrides it is very comfortable. Arriving at the pier your personal GEM (general experience maker) welcomes you! The lovely Natty helped us the entire stay to make it unforgettable. The hotel has its own "private jungle". During the day the hilltop is a lil adventure jungle and it highly appreciated to be surrounded in so much tranquility. Because Krabi, Samui and Phuket can feel very crowded. In the evening this beautiful hotel-jungle is truly magical with all the lights. For people who think: a hilly jungle isn't our thing. The buggies are available 24/7 to bring you around the whole property. The villa's are very authentic Thai with a lot of wood and nature. The infinity pools in the Ocean Deluxe Pool Villa are nice and clean. The rooms are spacious and clean. The only downside we think are the showers inside the villa (there is also an outside shower). They are a lil bit dated and don't match up with the rest of the villa. But who cares when you have an outside shower? The restaurants on the property are nice. Especially breakfast is a warm welcome if you compare it to the breakfasts from other hotels nearby. A lot of the hotels have a very Asian oriented breakfast, due to the fact that a lot of Asian people go on holiday in Thailand. The Six Senses Yao Noi did a great job by adding also a lot of breakfast options for Western guest. And I mean it was incredible. They have there own patisserie/bakery and if you feel like a French croissant or some sourdough bread: it is all there. And yes if you like your Asian breakfasts; you can also have plenty of options. The service in the hotel is outstanding. Your personal GEM will make sure that you have the most wonderful time. If you want to play tennis? Or a spa treatment, everything can be arranged. And yes you can arrange those things by yourself, but why not ask the help of the staff who now everything about the activities etc. If you want a tranquil destination with beautiful surroundings: this is it! We feel very at home at the Six Senses and will definitely come back next year to celebrate our honeymoon-around the world trip. Read less

Spectacular and exclusive resort! Beautiful hotel in the mountain with the cliff and amazing view. Food is great, service 101%, with a wonderful spa and amenities. We did kayak, and we took a boat to go to the little islets, and visit the islands. Rustic and simple rooms, but great hotel . We had a great time with friends!
