Six Senses Yao Noi

Phuket, Thailand

The hotel

Nestled on a small island in breathtaking Phang Nga Bay, Six Senses Yao Noi is an escape destination like no other. Built on the site of a former rubber plantation, the resort's lush landscaped gardens and mangrove forests provide a haven for local wildlife and hide a selection of beautifully rustic but thoroughly contemporary guest villas, representing an uncompromised level of luxury. The attention to detail and focus on the destination reinforces the resort's commitment to the environment. Each villa has its own infinity-edged pool with sundeck and is attended to by a personal villa team, trained to anticipate your every whim. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining at Six Senses Yao Noi. The Hilltop Restaurant is an exclusive venue with extraordinary views of Phang Nga Bay, whilst the Dining Room offers fine dining and a glass floor with a meandering creek beneath. For something a little more personal, dine at the Chef's Table or allow your butler to arrange a champagne breakfast, a private picnic or an evening barbecue beneath the stars. Be sure to visit the spa, one of Asia’s finest, set in a traditional Thai longhouse and offering a wealth of treatments and yoga programs. You can also enjoy a choice of cultural excursions, bicycle tours and cooking classes. But the greatest star is the bay; perhaps one of the best spots in Thailand to sail, kayak or simply lay back and marvel at the collection of limestone sentinels rising purposefully out of the turquoise sea.

We were on a month-long journey around Asia and this was the icing on the cake. While not the newest place it is still in very good shape. Loved our Ocean Pool Villa - stunning view. Our GEM (Tabtim) was wonderful and looked after our every need. I would return here in a heartbeat!

One of my favourite resorts I have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived to the marina until we left, we felt like superstars. When we pulled up to the hotel from the sea, the hotel looked amazing. We were kindly greeted by the general manager and other members including our gem for our stay Ma. I must say Ma was excellent and ensured our stay was as memorable as possible. She organised everything for us and cannot thank her enough. Yes the hotel is not cheap, however the grounds, rooms, views and staff are unlike anywhere I have stayed. I have to say all the staff members were excellent and were helpful, kind and informative. We were upgraded to a panoramic sea view room and can easily say this is one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in. The only small let down was sometimes the food was a bit overcooked. It seemed to be a theme in most of the hotels in Thailand. It is also worth noting that the hotel do try and give more healthy options. I am still giving the hotel 5 stars for the overall experience. If we do ever return to Thailand I will definitely be paying six senses another visit. Read less

We spent hours just admiring the view in the perfect silence, with a background of birds and cicadas sounds. Unbelievable, superb. The service is at the top, we had MA as our butler and she is not only beaufiful outside but also inside. Always on time, always smiling, always ready to help, the best of the best. We also enjoyed some boat trips around the island and of course all the restaurants of the six senses resort. We will return, of course. Read less

Truly amazing hotel with impeccable and personal services. We had a dedicated GEM (Natty) and housekeeper (Chacha) who took such good care of us that we felt like pampered royalties in our second home. They would take time to understand our likes and dislikes from the start and immediately personalise our villa (eg. stocking our minibar every day with our fav drinks, my fav fruits in our daily fruit basket, setting up our king bed such that my side of the bed has a thin blanket while my husband had a thicker duvet, and all the other little touches). Our panoramic pool villa had the best views and we woke up every morning to watch the glorious sunrise! The villa had a romantic outdoor shower where two can shower under the sky full of stars at night, a bathtub with a gorgeous view for 2 to soak, a pool with an outdoor patio perfect for soaking, staring at the view, and lazing around serenaded by many types of birds singing and dancing in the sky. The villa was so comfortable that we ended up abandoning most of our outdoor plans, choosing to just laze around in our villa. We also want to compliment the chefs as they cooked the best Thai food with great quality and the freshest ingredients. Joy and Wan Sao who served us breakfast every morning with such beautiful smiles, it was impossible to start the day on a wrong note. We love the sustainability efforts and how the resort gives back to the community that we feel every dollar we spend at the resort is well worth it. This was the best holiday for us. We have never felt so recharged at the end of a holiday and we will definitely be back again. Read less
