We stayed in a Pearl Bed Suite. We have heard very good things and seen great reviews but ultimately left a bit disappointed. THE GOOD it’s on a beautiful beach at Nai Yang with easy access from the hotel grounds across the road It’s only 20 mins from the airport although you are not disturbed by the air tread fix at all The property is quite funky in design so it has character and the rooms are nice although sometimes form takes over from function. We had a large bath on our balcony but it’s a pointless thing really as you don’t want to be prancing about naked when you can be see from all around Shower was great and towels very good Black Ginger is very nice place to eat THE BAD breakfast was not a good experience and did not compare well with what we have come to expect in many many hotels across the world. All felt a bit cramped and a bit chaotic. Didn’t think the egg station very good which is normally the place to go if all else fails. Bacon resembled ‘Frazzles’ for those who recall the bacon themed snack Pools - there are three pools. One family, one a pool. Bar and then the ‘infinity’ pool. We went to the latter but it’s teslly not big enough for the number of guests and water quality was very poor as in extremely cloudy Price -at £250 per night I thought this was significantly overpriced compared to many places I have stayed in Thailand or in most other countries for that matter Would I return. Possibly but not at that price. I would certainly see what else was available Read less

We stayed here many years ago (27 years )when it was called Pearl Village hotel. It has been totally remodelled and updated but has totally lost its way! We have been back to Thailand and Phuket many times and were looking forward to re- visiting our first Thai experience. How disappointed we are. We had mentioned it was our wedding anniversary, but no recognition from the hotel! This is the first time In all our visits to Thailand, we have not had the bed decorated with flowers. The same on Valentine’s Day, all hotels normally give the lady a rose! What has happened here! No sign of any management apart from one woman at breakfast! We have eaten in all the restaurants but not been greeted by any manager, in fact at Black Ginger we waited for over 15 minutes to be served a drink, one barman and 4 waitresses! No sign of any management...... Read less

Luckily, the bath tub on the patio was a great alternative, however this is something to keep in mind when booking a room with or without pool. I particularly loved the fact that the resort is so close to the airport, which was great since we were on our first weekend getaway with our then 3 month old son and didn't want to spend too much time traveling. We hired a babysitter through the resort 1 night to go out for dinner together, and we were very happy with the service. Dining at Black Ginger was delicious, great (upscale) setting and amazing food. Keep in mind you need to make a reservation in advance for dinner there. Read less
