The hotel facilities and our room exceeded our expectations - and they were high. We had a marvellous stay in a big room with a patio with sunbeds, chairs and an outdoor bathtub. It is truly a five star hotel in every way. I am a picky person and I have no remarks - at all. Fab breakfast with a wide assortment of local cuisine as well as… Read more

It is truly a five star hotel in every way. I am a picky person and I have no remarks - at all. Fab breakfast with a wide assortment of local cuisine as well as waffles, pancakes and everything else. Pools are great with 2 out of 3 only for adults. No screamy kids :) If you want a laid back holiday in a modern designed environment, this is the place to be. Read less

It is located just across a small road from the white sandy beach of Nai Yang, and the grounds of the hotel are walled and guard-gated for security and quiet. There's a well-equipped fitness center, three swimming pools (one for adults only), several restaurants to choose from, and lovely, spacious suites with soaking tubs, walk-in showers, dual vanities, free WiFi, nice bathrobes, and private patios or balconies ... all for under $200 per night. The theme/decor throughout is based on the tin-mining history of this area. Read less

It's with a heavy heart that I write this review. I came here a few years back, when it was still the 'Indigo Pearl' - I told everyone how amazing my experience was because it was pure MAGIC. Not a single bad thing could be said. The reason I came back to Thailand was to re-experience the wonderful time I had, but I was very disappointed. The name since then changed to The Slate, and with that I'm sure new management. I beg to them to please return this hotel to the glory it was as Indigo Pearl. I have a few comments and observations that I hope they will listen to 1. Please be nicer upon checking in. I felt yelled at and rushed. I was trying to get my passport out fast, but still felt like it wasnt fast enough 2. Y'all need new beach chairs! The ones out are stained, gross, and not clean. I'll attach a pic to let you know what your guests are seeing 3. Whoa!!! Have the prices increased! 22 USD for a simple burger and a few fries?! Whoa whoa this is pricey for what I got. And I didn't get enough ketchup. Why so stingy?! Better food and prices, or at least the food taste and amount should reflect the price. Not cool :( 4. Better housekeeping is needed. the shower doors have soap scum build up. I also noticed a red stain on my bedding. This could have been blood or ketchup, who knows? But no self respecting 5 star hotel would allow it 5. The landscaping need some serious attention!!! That's what sets this apart from other hotels, however when walking towards the back of the hotel near the beach entrance, the bushes are poking me as I walk past. The "grass" is not the lush grass it used to be, but instead crab grass. 6. The TV needs some updating. I though it strange that the rooms were decorated with so much thought, but the wiring of the TV is left all over the place. 7. Upon checkout, the reception asked for my room key. I asked her if I could keep it since I collect hotel room keys, and she told me NO!! Omg, this is the first time I've been rejected for this and I even told her I collect them. Ok slate, noted. Youre not part of my hotel collection. I didn't get to try the cacoon spa the first time, and wanted to this time around, however after being disappointed with.l the maintenance of this place, I decided to pass. Read less
