Dinner at the Resort restaurant was definitely a highlight for us, as the food was incredible and the chef was highly attentive. My wife is vegetarian, and he made sure to come out and check on us personally several times to ensure everything was to the highest standard. Honestly one of the best dining experiences we've had at a resort, especially in Phuket.. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff highly attentive. The main pool hosts an absolutely jaw-dropping view with islands stacking in the near distance. I highly recommend the Vijitt Resort to anybody looking to explore the islands from a base in Phuket. In summary, the hotel layout and buildings, amenities and style were all amazing and the staff were wonderful in all ways. What lets it down is the surrounding area as there is a main road at the front of the hotel and you need a car to get to any restaurants nearby. That said, let me go into a little more detail. We had a Deluxe Seaview Villa (I think it was around number 21) which is halfway up the property, but close enough to the sea front for a beautiful view and easy walks to the restaurants (although they offer a buggy service, we prefer to walk). Unfortunately the Baan Vijitt restaurant was closed except for our very last night, where we enjoyed an awesome Thai meal in a beautiful setting that we would have visited more if it had been open. The main restaurant was great, but we missed eating more traditional Thai food that you can get in local restaurants, although we had to search for a long time before finding one that cooked to Thai tastes rather than western. The food they did serve was excellent though and the staff (particularly Maria) were incredibly attentive and just the best at making a holiday really enjoyable. The sea in front of the hotel is a shallow cove and at low tide it retreats a long way out leaving a slightly marshy sand to walk on. The sea itself was a bit murky when we were there, it was the off season though, so we were more than happy to spend our time at the pool near the main restaurant. The grounds are immaculately kept and the villas are built using rescued wood and other recycled materials, yet in keeping with a fusion of Thai and Western styles. Our villa was at the edge of the property and so it was immensely peaceful, yet close enough to everything to get to a bar or restaurant fairly quickly. The villa is huge with a walk in area leading to the bedroom onto a balcony and to the right a cupboard/drssing area with minibar leading to the bathroom which has inside bath, basins and toilet as well as an outside shower area. The spa was a short walk to the reception area and although pricey it was well worth the several visits we made there. All in all if you are the type to stay in your hotel or maybe make a couple of trips from there with a driver then this is a wonderful hotel to stay at. Thank you everyone at The Vijitt Resort for our lovely time there Read less

We spent 6 enjoyable nights here at at The Vijitt resort. We had a wonderful time. We enjoyed having our meals at the Savoury restaurant. Thanks to Pom and Maria for making us so comfortable. We don’t eat pork or beef but Pom and Chef Arm ensured we had meals we could eat at breakfast time. The food is of Hugh quality and a reasonable price for a 5* resort. We ate once at Baan Vijitt - again the food was good. We just preferred the lovely atmosphere at The Savoury. We thought the villas were very comfortable. The only criticism was the poor water flow in the outdoor showers. We had a few issues with the bath and toilets during our stay but the great maintenance team fixed them immediately. Our rooms were really clean. The housekeepers do a wonderful job. We made use of the hotel shuttle to go to Rawai beach, the shopping mall, the Cape to see the sunset and to the old town. The shuttle buses were very comfortable. The drivers were very helpful and friendly. We also organised private taxi transfers to Big Buddha and Wat Chalong - had a good experience. The hotel’s taxi fees are comparable with the taxi prices outside the resort for tourists. I think our check-in and check-our experiences could have been a bit better. We didn’t really feel like we had the warm Thai welcome when we arrived. They gave garlands to other new arrivals but not to us. Wonder why. We booked an extra night as we had a midnight flight. We were kindly offered a breakfast box by the day reception team as we were leaving for the airport at night. Unfortunately the breakfast box wasn’t ready when we were checking out so we left without it. We would love to return to this resort in the future if we are lucky enough. Read less

Our villa had its own small private pool and was in good condition - outside shower v nice. Big infinity pool was lovely. It is pricey (£300 per night) and not quite 5-star quality, but the food and drinks were good value and pretty good quality (although we did get food poisoning on the last day). Wi-fi a bit patchy. Evening entertainer was nice older guy, but after 7 successive nights we could have done with a change of act! One final point - I needed a dentist during our stay, and reception sorted out an excellent dental clinic for me. Read less
