Morning pick up from your Hanoi hotel for the drive to Halong Bay (approx. 170km/4 hour drive). Upon arrival at Halong Bay you will complete the check-in registration at a local hotel and depart for the La Vela Premium Cruise, where you will stay for 2 nights. Enjoy a welcome drink, cruise and safety briefing before cabin check-in and lunch. Afternoon exploration of Sung Sot Cave and try the hike up the 600 steps to the magnificent limestone formations of the biggest cave in Halong Bay. Enjoy the afternoon relaxing on board among the magnificence of the Heritage Site. In the evening enjoy a cooking class under the attentive instruction of the top chef, to discover the Vietnamese cuisine of traditional spring rolls, followed by cocktail hour and dinner. (L/D)
Wake up early to enjoy the stunning sunrise on the Bay. Begin a new day with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck with coffee & tea with homemade cookies & biscuits then a full buffet breakfast served on board. Transfer to a day boat for cruising the 'off the beaten track' part of the bay. In Vung Vieng Floating Village, enjoy time around the village with local people and experiencing their lives over the water. Lunch served on the day boat en-route to Ban Chan Beach. Enjoy some primitive pristine scenery with emerald watesr and a white sandy beach which is hard to find anywhere else in Halong Bay. Optional swimming, sunbathing or kayaking before heading back to main boat. (B/L/D)

This is a short tour which works well as part of a full Vietnam holiday. We recommend staying in Hanoi before the Halong Bay cruise and then flying onwards to Danang on day 3 for a few nights in Hoi An.
