Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Amritsar

On arrival in Amritsar from Delhi, you will be met and transferred to the Hyatt Regency Amritsar for your overnight stay. This afternoon you will see the border closing ceremony at nearby Wagah. The lowering of the flags ceremony at the Attari-Wagah border is a daily military practice that the security forces of India and Pakistan jointly carry out. It is seen as a sign of co-operation and brotherhood between the two countries.

Day 2: Amritsar

After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Amritsar including the Jallianwala Bagh and the beautiful and highly revered Golden Temple whose domes are covered with 400 kilograms of gold leaf and within its marbled halls lie the texts of the Sikh Holy Scriptures. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. In the evening revisit the Golden Temple to witness the Palki Ceremony, where the Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib, is returned overnight to the Akal Takhat – a moving and spiritual ceremony. Stay overnight at the Hyatt Regency Amritsar. (B)

Day 3: Depart Amritsar

After breakfast transfer to Amritsar International Airport for your flight back to Delhi and any onward travel arrangements you’ve made. Why not extend to the beaches of Goa, or see the mystical city of Varanasi.(B)

Visa requirements

An Indian visa is required for all British passport holders and MUST be obtained before your arrival in India. You can now apply for an e-Visa at a cost up to $25 USD per person when staying 30 days or less. This can be obtained at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html. The application must be completed no later than 4 days prior to your arrival in India. Your e-visa will be valid for 60 days from the date of your arrival. You should ensure that your passport is valid for 6 months beyond your departure date from India and have at least two blank pages.

Payment flexibility


Don’t worry if you’ve missed a payment or just need a little more time to pay; we have options available to help you. 

You can continue to pay for your holiday in Manage my booking, even if travelling in less than 12 weeks. 

If you’re struggling to pay, you can delay any additional payments by choosing a new time to travel. If your holiday is more than 6 months away, you may wish to set up a Direct Debit to spread the cost. This can be arranged whilst rebooking or afterwards in Manage my booking.
