Virgin Holidays' view

This magnificent journey through two of India’s most celebrated national parks will lead you on a trail of discovery as some of the nest parks in the world to see the famous Royal Bengal Tigers in their natural habitat. From fauna renowned to the region to majestic birds of prey, this tour is sure to leave you with everlasting memories.

Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to India! On arrival at Delhi, you will be met by a representative of Eastbound before transferring to your hotel Novotel Aerocity or similarfor an overnight stay. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2: Jabalpur

After breakfast, you will transfer back to Delhi Aiport for your flight to Jabalpur. Upon arrival you will met by your driver and driven to Bandhavgarh (appoximatley 170 kms/3 hours 30 minutes) where you will check into the Bandhav Vilas or similar for the next 3 nights. Bandhavgarh National Park covers 450sq km of the landscape of Madhya Pradesh, and is dominated by the imposing bastions of its famous fortress, boasting the highest concentration of tigers. Legendary home to the elusive white tigers of Rewa, you will hear the cries of macaques, lemurs, hornbills and fish eagles. Spend the morning and afternoon of both days on game-drives. You will also get the opportunity to take a wander through a local village to experience the untapped life of rural India and the incredible birdlife. (B)

Day 3:  Bandhavgarh National Park

Morning and afternoon game-drives with the possibility, in addition to tigers, of seeing leopards, sloths and the rare swamp deer. (B/L/D)

Day 4:  Bandhavgarh National Park

Morning and afternoon game-drives with the possibility, in addition to tigers, of seeing leopards, sloths and the rare swamp deer. In the evening there is an opportunity to visit a nearby village and interact with the locals, learning their culture and traditions. (B/L/D)

Day 5: Kanha

After breakfast continue by road to Kanha (260 km/approximately 6 hours 30 minutes), the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book’. Check in for 3 nights at the Chitvan Jungle Lodge or similar. Kanha is blessed with a dazzling array of birdlife, with over 300 species recorded here. It’s also probably one of the best locations in India to view the elusive tiger with any degree of regularity (at last count there were reported to be nearly 140 of these magnificent beasts living in the park), as well as being home to Indian bison, leopard and the unique barasingha (swamp deer), dramatically saved from the brink of extinction. Enjoy a morning game-drive and then the afternoon is at leisure. (B/L/D)

Days 6 & 7: Kanha

Morning and afternoon game-drives with the possibility, in addition to tigers, of seeing leopards, sloths and the rare swamp deer. (B/L/D)

Day 8: Delhi

This morning you will be driven to Nagpur airport (approximately 280km/6 hours) for your flight to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi, you will be met by a representative of Eastbound before transferring to your hotel Novotel Aerocity or similar for an overnight stay. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 9: End of tour

After breakfast, you will be met by a representative from Eastbound in the hotel lobby and transferred to the airport for your onward flight arrangements or for your extension to Goa. (B)

Meals: B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner

Please note: we feel it is important to point out that although India contains a great variety of wildlife, the huge concentration of animals seen so often in the African bush cannot be seen here. The mainly forested terrain makes viewing more difficult, and the animals are generally more shy and retiring, and live in scattered groups, or even as solitary individuals. Having said this, the excitement of exploring the wildlife parks of India, perhaps for this very reason, is something you will never forget. Please note that your local guide cannot accompany you on the game drive. You will be accompanied by one of the park naturalists. Bandhavgarh National Park is closed on a Wednesday, if arriving on this day an afternoon safari will not be possible, alternative arrangements will be made.

Thank you for your patience and understanding

Payments are being prioritised based on when the request was made, working in order from March 2020 onwards. We will always try to process refunds at the earliest opportunity, for requests before August our maximum timeframe is 120 days. As we are steadily reducing the maximum processing time for each new request, for refund requests made in August, we expect the maximum processing time to be 80 days, from the date the refund is requested. For those requesting a refund in September, we expect it to be processed within a maximum of 60 days, and then reduce to 30 days for refunds requested in October, before returning to normal levels.

We'll be in touch soon

To finalise the amendment, one of our customer advisors will phone you. We need to work through amend requests in departure date order so we can prioritise those with the most imminent travel plans, so you may have a longer wait than usual until we’re able to ring you back. We will help everyone that wants to move their holiday.
