Six Senses Con Dao

Con Dao, Vietnam

The hotel

Most desert islands are exclusively for couples, but Six Senses Con Dao does things differently. Its beyond-luxury villas are designed with couples, families and groups in mind – and so is its incredible portfolio of activities and dining. Every ocean-facing beach villa is seconds from the sands, with communal living space and a private infinity pool (some even have an extra lap pool). This being Con Dao, Vietnam’s preserved marine park, you have sands, snorkelling and scuba steps away but, in classic Six Senses style, you also have attractions for every kind of traveller: turtle viewing for nature lovers, island tours for culture vultures, stargazing for night owls, spa treatments and family yoga for serenity-seekers, cookery and mixology for gourmands, and boat charters, water sports, trekking, biking and motor biking for the adventurous.

We had an excellent experience with our recent visit to the Six Senses in Con Dao - it was the most beautiful holiday experience from beginning to the end. The staff were extremely friendly whilst maintaining professionalism and we would particularly like to single out for extra praise our GEM Lucy and (Queen) Victoria although everyone (from the beach maintenance staff to the managers) oozed charm without being obsequious. The food at breakfast the best we have experienced in any hotel worldwide and the Vietnamese restaurant was brilliant ... the Pho and Handrolls were standouts! We had an amazing ocean front view from our room and the vast beach was perfect for long walks prior to ‘earning’ our complimentary afternoon ice creams.. The complimentary neck and shoulder massage following breakfast every morning was awesome! We particularly enjoyed excellent walks on a secluded beach, group yoga on the beach, having our Chakras re-aligned (yes me too), our first massage together and learning how to make coconut oil. We cannot wait to return ... Read less

This was my first experience with Six Senses and it was absolutely amazing! The location is unbelievable- jungle on one side and beach on the other. The architecture beautifully fits into the rugged terrain of the jungle and everything about the resort is built with luxury, relaxation, and fun in mind. The resort is all villas... mine was oceanfront with a private pool. Walking along the beach every morning was the favorite part of the day... until I went to breakfast, or to the spa, or enjoyed their daily free ice cream!! In all seriousness, it's a truly unique location with an amazing service culture. Lucy, our assigned guest experience manager, was lovely and amazing. Our spa treatments were one of the best ever. The daily yoga classes, too, were among the best I've ever had. The food was delicious, too. There are several restaurants at the resort and they were all delicious. I would recommend. Read less

Second only to sixth senses Ninh Vinh, this Sixth Senses property is outrageously amazing. Service beyond anything imaginable, private infinity pool on the beach outside your door. Feeling in the room and resort is just being pampered. Great world class property.

My daughter and I booked the Six Senses Con Dao for a weekend, Friday-Sunday. We both wish that we had had more time to enjoy the resort and the island. We arrived to Con Dao airport after a 45-minute flight. Six Senses had a desk inside the arrival hall next to the luggage belt and a very pleasant young lady greeted us and some other guests who also headed for the resort. We had a fifteen-minute ride on a good road to the resort. We had a terrific welcome by the resort team who expedited us to our Ocean Front Pool Villa. Great reception and our GEM (Guest Experience Manager) Ms Ni brought us to the villa by a golf-cart. She explained all the amenities and options for eating as well as activities. Great attitude, very friendly and dedicated. She couldn't do enough for us. The villa was nice, they had made up our room as a twin (as was there with my daughter). The Six Senses style appeals to me as it is a rustic understated luxury they do so well. We started off by a trip to Con Dao town, a small town with a few nice restaurants as well as a small fresh market. We returned for a swim and dinner at the Vietnamese. Everywhere the service was exceptional and the food great. Try the Vietnamese pancake. Next day a very nice breakfast and kayaking off the beach. A very impressive beach indeed stretching for what seemed more than a mile. We never saw many people on the beach. As it is so long it was if we had the beach to ourselves. We then had a nice swim. Water was pristine. Very clear. Unfortunately, the nearby reefs were temporarily closed by the authorities or we would have been tempted to go for a dive or just some snorkelling. My daughter signed up for a cocktail making course and I was the taster. Very nice. For dinner Chef Daniel and his team arranged some great seafood dishes. Very fresh and tasty. Chris, Nora and their team were great hosts. We were sad to have to leave on Sunday afternoon. We could easily have stayed many more days. The villa was so comfortable I slept much more than what I am usually able to. Thank you for a great getaway. We will definitely come back. Read less
