I was so impressed with the staff at this hotel. I felt like I was home, and always with a smile. The resort manager is excellent; nothing was ever too much for her. The location is perfect and walking distance to everything you will want to see. I enjoyed my gluten-free pizza at the restaurant. It tasted like a real pizza. I like this option as I… Read more

The location is perfect and walking distance to everything you will want to see. I enjoyed my gluten-free pizza at the restaurant. It tasted like a real pizza. I like this option as I try to eat clean as much as possible and can be hard to do while traveling. I looked forward to my sunset glass of wine on the river at the restaurant in the evening after a day of sightseeing. Until next time) Read less

If you must visit Hoi An -- I'm sure the Unesco World Heritage designation guarantees an invasion of tourists -- the Anantara is a superb choice. The property is close -- but not too close -- to the hustle and bustle, an easy walk along the river or down the road to the historic district. We had a multi-level room on the second floor, with an outdoor sitting area overlooking the hotel grounds and cooled by a giant overhead fan. Our room was quiet, clean, lovingly furnished, and kept comfortably cool (A/C and overhead fans). The staff was very helpful and had excellent English skills. The pool offers a welcome respite from the oppressive afternoon heat, and a pleasant setting for morning yoga classes. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, with high quality croissants and other baked goodies, fruit of all kinds, excellent coffee, and a broad array of Western and Vietnamese breakfast staples. We appreciated the availability of bikes to hit the trails (we used a guide - advisable so you can avoid the main roads). Finally, I noticed a groundskeeper and a housekeeping staff person who appeared to have Down's Syndrome. I asked the manager about it, and she explained that the hotel had a work arrangement with a local institution and that there were few opportunities for mentally handicapped adults in the area. I commended the manager and am pleased to have patronized an establishment that is engaged in the community in such a way. Well done, and thank you! Highly recommended. Read less

This resort is in a perfect location being only a few minutes walk along the river to the old town. The pool is ideal for younger children. Ask for a ground-floor room facing the pool. The only issue we had was very slow Internet/WiFi. The pool also needs a little maintenance as a few edge tiles have come away. But these are minor issues… Read more

The only issue we had was very slow Internet/WiFi. The pool also needs a little maintenance as a few edge tiles have come away. But these are minor issues easily fixed and I would certainly stay here again. Read less
