Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort & Spa

Danang and Hoi An, Vietnam

The hotel

In homage to the nearby town of Hoi An, this resort replicates a traditional fishing village with small streets, water ponds and village houses with clay-tiled roofs clustered around Chinese cloth lanterns. Extremely charming, it is also very comfortable with well-equipped guest rooms and a warm, restful atmosphere. Water sports can be found on the beach or you can grab a mountain bike and cycle through rice fields. The Victoria Spa offers a wide range of therapies with four stylishly designed treatment rooms and a beach massage house – whilst the kids' enjoy the myriad activities at the kids club, head over for an hour or two and indulge yourself! Casual all-day dining is offered at the L’Annam Restaurant, overlooking the sea, with freshly caught seafood a speciality. Alternatively, you can enjoy a romantic evening Vietnamese-style, down by the ocean with a Champa cushion and old-fashioned storm lamp, feasting on local cuisine.

We were allotted this hotel when our original hotel was closed due to the Coronavirus. It had all the facilities you would expect of a beach resort hotel. The beach was fine but would probably be a lot busier in normal times. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We were placed at this hotel because our original hotel was closed due to the corona virus. The Victoria is a superbly positioned hotel next to the beach. The facilities were very good but it was the friendliness and service attitude of the staff which really made the difference.

We were very pleased staying at this resort. We stayed there in March and this hotel was one of the few hotels that was still open because of the virus. Most tourists left home and there were only a few guest. Nevertheless, the management decided to keep everything up and running: an extended breakfast buffet, sufficient staff, continued operation of the restaurant and even in de evenings, they kept on with music performances. We really were surprised about the friendliness of the staff. They really took care of the few guests and gave them a good and safe feeling about their stay. Rooms were kept clean and the hotel was runned like always. I really appreciated this! We even get a free upgrade. The only downside of this hotel is that the rooms are a little dated. But that is the only criticism I have on this wonderful hotel and its more wonderful staff. If we come back to Vietnam I will certainly choose for one of the Victoria hotels. Also the Victoria hotel in Sapa was really really nice. I will review this hotel separately. Read less

This hotel was not our first choice when booking our trip to Hoi An but we were more than happy with this property upon arrival. We were in a Garden View Room that looked down through the garden to the pool and the sea. The bathroom was a bit outdated but served its purpose and the bedroom in places needed a bit of TLC however the positives of this resort far outweighed the negatives. The pool bar and restaurant served excellent food and the cocktails were great. Menu in a bamboo tube attached to your poolside umbrella and a red flag to wave for attention was a great idea. Complimentary glass of ginger tea in the morning and lovely fruit kebabs in the afternoon were a delight. The hotel shuttle bus was a great way to get into town although the last bus back at 9.30 was a little early. Breakfast was terrific with a vast choice. We were here for 5 nights and dined in the restaurant 3 nights the food was so good. The Mahi Mahi Skewer on Risotto with vegetables was exceptional. Every dish we tried was excellent be it by the pool or in the main restaurant. The chef or chefs are fantastic. The service in all areas was brilliant. Like a lot of people we were experiencing flight changes due to Covid 19 and Reception were really helpful sending someone to the pool when our Travel Agents called from the UK. We could not have asked for more. We chose this as our chill out time in our busy schedule and it was perfect. Perfect setting and in the evening with the lanterns lit around the pool and the Vietnamese girls dancing it really was special. Read less

We stayed here for 12 nights recently and everything about this hotel is superb. The staff, the food, the facilities are all excellent. Due to coronavirus we ended up staying longer than we had booked for and we were able to stay in our original rooms. The situation changed almost daily and a special mention goes to Front House Manager Pham Hoang Diem and her wonderful team. Nothing was too much trouble for them contacting airlines on our behalf. Back to the Hotel though - the choice of food at breakfast was vast and always fresh. The pool area was lovely and the beach guys were so helpful. Lovely pizzas at lunchtime and cocktails at sundown. We will be back!!! Read less
