Park Hyatt Hotel Saigon

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The hotel

A modern makeover may have seen Park Hyatt Saigon reopen with guest room luxuries like mini iPads and Nespresso machines, but it hasn’t lost its signature French Colonial soul, from the décor to The Pastry Boutique, a patisserie filled with delicate treats. Overlooking Lam Son Square’s Opera House, the truly central location hasn’t stopped Park Hyatt adding a luxury limo service for indulgent sightseeing. And there’s added panache when you return too, with 24-hour Butler and Concierge services, and dining experiences like the Saturday afternoon tea buffets of scones, pastries, tartlets and desserts; Vietnamese clay pot specialities; Sunday brunches with free-flowing Bollinger; DJs and drinks at 2 Lam Son; and Vietnamese cookery classes, which kick off with a Cyclo or Vespa ride to a local market to pick up ingredients.

I spend over 250 nights a year in five start hotels. The service in this hotel strikes the perfect balance between being unobtrusive but exceptional in every detail. You get what you pay for with this luxury hotel. The location - perfect. The decor - gorgeous, classic french colonial. You get what you pay for with this luxury hotel. The location - perfect. The decor - gorgeous, classic french colonial. The rooms - huge, huge bed, huge bathroom, nespresso machine with takeaway cups - it’s got it all. The food - outstanding. The pool - the most comfortable sunbeds I’ve ever laid on, perfect large pool at just the right temperature, free fruit infused water throughout the day, frozen fruit lollipops served too (lovely touch), areas in the sun and shade aplenty. The service and staff - second to none, the pool guys are impeccable, the reception outstanding; I managed to stupidly leave a load of clothes at the hotel on departure - they couriered them to my next hotel for me over 7 hours away to phu quoc island for the smallest charge you could imagine. I was astounded by the class of this hotel. If you’ve got the money definitely choose to spend it here. I’ve travelled a lot and stayed in many many 5* hotels across the world - this one has the edge of old style class. Want to be waited on hand and foot in superb surroundings? book it. My only gripe - the price of the poolside drinks - this isn’t London but the prices are, a slight annoyance when you can get the same drink at a nice bar for under £1! If they were just slightly lower than £13 it would be better and people would probably buy more! Read less

Great hotel. Expensive, but worth every penny. You feel like a royal staying at this hotel. They’ve thought about every detail and I’m sure you don’t find a better hotel in HCMC. The pool area is nice, the gym is nice and most important, the rooms are perfect.

It has the old feel of a French-run hotel. It’s historical look is matched perfectly with top-notch customer service, attention to detail and cleanliness. I’m a Hyatt guy (got the CC, stay while on bus travel)... That said, I’ve never been treated as well. From my checkin, my experience was awesome. Breakfast buffet has you covered, vegan - check, Western - check, I loved their French cheeses and perfectly cooked eggs. We drank in the Bar, they did everything right. I WILL BE BACK! Read less
