Park Hyatt Hotel Saigon

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The hotel

A modern makeover may have seen Park Hyatt Saigon reopen with guest room luxuries like mini iPads and Nespresso machines, but it hasn’t lost its signature French Colonial soul, from the décor to The Pastry Boutique, a patisserie filled with delicate treats. Overlooking Lam Son Square’s Opera House, the truly central location hasn’t stopped Park Hyatt adding a luxury limo service for indulgent sightseeing. And there’s added panache when you return too, with 24-hour Butler and Concierge services, and dining experiences like the Saturday afternoon tea buffets of scones, pastries, tartlets and desserts; Vietnamese clay pot specialities; Sunday brunches with free-flowing Bollinger; DJs and drinks at 2 Lam Son; and Vietnamese cookery classes, which kick off with a Cyclo or Vespa ride to a local market to pick up ingredients.

Our river cruise tour include this hotel and it was fabulous, with excellent food and staff and a decent spa, pool and gym. The hotel is in an excellent location and there are lots of shops / cafes / spas nearby.

This was my 3rd stay at this hotel and I look forward to it every time. Beautiful hotel and gracious staff. The warm welcome I received as I checked in to the delicious breakfast buffet and well appointed rooms....Can’t wait to return!

Amazing Location. Except for the death defying; thrill ride of a cab ride from the airport to the hotel, we walked everywhere we went. Amazing Location. Except for the death defying; thrill ride of a cab ride from the airport to the hotel, we walked everywhere we went. We were not there for a long time and having done a boat type tour in Dubai, Maldives and then Thailand, my husband wasn't feeling it to do the Delta Tour and I hurt my back so the tunnel tour was not appealing. We will need to come back and complete those items. We squeezed in 4 countries in 2 weeks, we arrived in Vietnam a bit wiped out, sadly. But we did hire an amazing private tour with the hotel concierge, they hooked us with Young who took us around the city by foot to the Reunification Palace which is now called Independence Palace. She told us about life in Vietnam, the history (war) through the eyes of her country, she took us to a local coffee shop where we enjoyed Vietnamese coffee, toured the flower/fish/shopping areas. Amazing... Thank you Young. If you don't like big bus tours and can walk well, this is the way to go and a great value. We have so much respect for the people of Vietnam (and thank you to all the motorists for not running me down when I hesitated crossing the street). That was an excursion all by itself. The hotel concierge staff, their level of attention was over the top. Not enough can be said about those that work at that desk. Thank you! The pool was a nice place to gather after a warm day of sightseeing . We enjoyed food and wine pool side. On Both days we showed up around 3pm and they were out of chairs. But we waited a short time and some opened up. We did a couples massage and it was "okay", the staff didn't speak enough english and there was no couple interaction or initiation to have us speak to each other during this romantic time. Odd... and she "deep tissued" my larger korean judo practicing type man to the point the next day his calves were throbbing. My massage person's touch was really hurting in the beginning so I asked her to lighten up and then it was so light when I flipped over, my teenager could have given me the same massage - nothing technical about it. So very disappointed there. We were in a regular room on the first night (the rooms are very nicely decorated, great sheets, big windows and just and nice feel. But we were sweating during our sleep, the AC didn't really turn on to max speed. My husband likes it colder when he sleeps as do I for "older female reasons' and I was up every 2 hours along with hubby. Due to his Globalist status we were upgraded to a suite on nights 2 and 3 and sadly struggled with the same AC issue, at least the regular room had a ceiling fan, the updated suite had no fan. And the lights were possessed. LOL, he had to get up for a 5:30 am call to the states and the lights in the front room would not turn on unless he turned on the lights in the bedroom. It seemed all or nothing on the lights. No biggy but so odd we couldn't get them to work right. I was up anyway... The breakfast was really good. Nothing negative there to report. The staff was great, selection very broad and something for everyone. We will be back... we have a few tourist trips to finish up here. Read less
