Mia Resort Nha Trang

Nha Trang, Vietnam

The hotel

Boasting one of the best restaurants in Vietnam, as well as gorgeous ocean views from every single guest room, Mia Resort Nha Trang is most definitely worth writing home about. The condo and villa accommodation is an experience in itself with plenty of contemporary fixtures and fittings complimenting the natural light and spacious indoor/outdoor living areas. As the resort is pretty much isolated from the rest of the southeast coastline you get to sample sublimely serene moments with landscaped green gardens and cool white sands providing the perfect paints against a sky blue canvas. There's no better setting to enjoy those all-consuming ocean views other than the resort's infinity-edge swimming pool however, with plenty of water sports available, diving straight in is always a hugely tempting alternative. From golf courses and kids' clubs to yoga sessions and scuba-diving, this really is the ideal spot for the whole gang and as the family condos come highly recommended you'll be relaxed and settled in no time at all. Finally, if you're lucky enough to get a spot of 'me time' or you're travelling sans enfants then a visit to Xanh Spa has to be in order. This is the perfect place to treat yourself and no sooner have you succumbed to a tailor-made organic therapy then all of your troubles will drift off as easily as a fluffy white cloud scudding over the clear blue Vietnamese sky.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Mia Resort. We found the resort to be very efficiently run, with beautiful landscaped gardens, super attentive staff and excellent accommodation. A few days into our stay we had a problem with our air conditioning unit but within 20 minutes of reporting this we were moved to an alternative condo for the remainder of our holiday. We really couldn't fault anything at this resort. The food available in the various restaurants was of high quality (and big portions), chefs went out of their way to provide my vegetarian husband with a variety of dishes, happily changing ingredients to suit his tastes. I made use of the Spa and enjoyed a lavish pedicure which was the best I've ever had. We have traveled quite a lot but for us Mia Resort will take some beating in the future. Cindy and her team of staff do a fantastic job, we felt truly pampered. Read less

This review is based on my personal experience and views shared are my own. Everybody has the right to differ and I respect everybody’s views. This review is for Mia Resort but I have also included some general advices as well to make it more useful for all travelers. Not everybody may think it’s important if you don’t have the amenities and facilities that I mentioned were lacking in Mia Resort but the fact remains the same that they should have been there should anybody needs them because the guest has paid to be comfortable and pampered during his short stay in the property A big and beautiful resort but by far the most poorly managed property and a property lacking in basic facilities that I have stayed. I would especially like to emphasize for first time travelers and travelers with not much experience that they might not realize what they have lost during the stay but I want them to know their rights and to know what to expect from your hotels and what it means to stay in a 4 or 5 stars property. You are paying your hard earned money earned in months for a few days stay and you deserve to have due professional service and care. There is a mushroom growth of vacation properties these days as new tourist attractions are being developed. With the increase in number of properties, professional and competent Human Resources are getting scarce and therefore more expensive by the day. That is one of the reasons why newly coming up properties like Mia Resort don’t have the required professional staff and they take it for granted in their efforts to maximize their profits by minimizing costs by not hiring expensive but professionally competent staff and at the same time don’t hesitate in ripping off their guests by any ways they can such as non refundable bookings they state to be “low cost” which are not low cost by any means. Staying in resorts away from the city you have to dine in their restaurants where again they charge you anything they like because they know you don’t have any other option It was really hard to believe how unthoughtful a property can be when you stay in Mia Resort whether it comes to basic privacy or most basic amenities. A pathetic experience overall and I had to checkout even before my checkout date even though the booking was non-refundable. I lost my money but otherwise I would have lost both my money and the precious time of my vacation - I had booked a room with double bed but when we reached there 7 hours after the check-in time the room was still not ready and the room we were offered instead was with twin beds. We were asked to wait for 10 minutes but the room was till not ready for more than 30 minutes after that. Ultimately, 2 single beds were joined to make a "double" bed - The bed in the room was conveniently and clearly visible from outside, during the day without lights and at night with more clarity. Cleaners, gardeners, security can be at your glass door at any time and they are many times while other guests can also have a view if they are just passing by your room. A voyeurs heaven - The property misstated the front yard as "Terrace/Balcony" in the room description online. Once at night when I was sitting outside with my wife, somebody suddenly flashed a torch light on us, height of lack of privacy - The booking is not confirmed at the same time of booking as is the case for most booking and you have to wait for the booking confirmation at a later time. The price is also very volatile and can change a number of times in a few minutes. I had made two bookings with a difference of few minutes and the rate had changed twice during that time. - The property is still using old fashioned manual locks and not the convenient electronic keys. So you cannot keep the key conveniently in your wallet as is usually the case with hotel keys - You can hear the traffic and their pressure horns from the convenience of your room. That is not limited to the traffic from the main road but also the hotel electric buggies that are meant to be silent but the sound of their tyres on stone roads and huge body vibrations is much more sound than an ordinary vehicle. There is a buggy every few minutes, if not more. I had requested for a "quite room" at the time of booking and I was given a room on the only way to the main restaurant of the hotel. - Have you ever seen a king size bed with side table on only one side? Have you ever seen a bed that you can only get on to from one side or the front? Come and see it in Condo 102 - Mosquitoes in the room. - No running water in the WC - No mirror in the room - No air conditioning in the lobby or restaurants, temperature around 35C - I ordered a chicken egg toast for my breakfast and I got pork, "by mistake" - the hotel could not even manage to write my name correctly on the welcome card, just a glimpse of things to come Read less

Everything was perfect including our request to have the same Garden Villa we had previously stayed in. The service and the setting are hard to match anywhere in the world. The hands on type management and the attentiveness and pleasantness of the staff are their great assets We travel a lot and this resort is probably our favourite and the standards are still as high as they have ever been. The food was first class and there was a huge variety to suit all tastes. We did not use the new restaurant as the steps were a bit much for us but were more than happy to stay at the Sandals end of the resort as there was everything we needed there. We will return here again at some time and have no hesitation in recommending this resort to anyone who may be thinking of staying there. In our opinion this is as good as it gets. Note for the management, I was unable to open the Brand Gain form which was sent to me if you would like to investigate and send me another. Read less
