This was our first place to stay in Canada and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The room that we had was lovely. It had a view out toward one of the mountains and it certainly was a lovely thing to wake up to. The room itself was comfy, warm and had a good bathroom and the open fire was a very nice touch. The rooms were always cleaned to a good standard and fire made ready for us upon our return every day which was very welcome considering we were skiing in -30. The staff on the front desk could not have been any more obliging and were full of advice on things to do in the area. We booked a couple of excursions through them on their recommendations and the process was extremely easy! The location was great, far enough out of town to be peaceful and quiet but close enough that we could get in and make the most of all that Banff had to offer with ease. It’s a bit of a walk to the Center but nothing too strenuous and the views are on the way are stunning. The free shuttle service on offer was fantastic and the staff running it could not have been more helpful. We only ate in the restaurant for an evening meal once and it was very pleasant. We did have breakfast a couple of mornings and although very tasty the portions were a little too large for us but everyone’s taste is different. In summary we thoroughly enjoyed our stay (so much so that we ended up adding an extra three nights on at the end) the staff on the front desk and those running the shuttle were ace and the location was perfect. Many thanks for a lovely stay Read less

Please see earlier comments for an accurate description on the extreme poor quality and cleanliness of this property. We will be sure to share all of this with anybody seeking recommendations for a place to stay in Banff and tell them to not consider this place.

Oh no, it was winter she wanted, so we booked through Amtrak Vacations. Buffalo Mountain was booked for us. I was initially dismayed at the distance from the town of Banff. However, starting at our check in, the staff won us over! Sam, Lauren, Carleen, Kyle, and quite a few more, whose names I didn’t get down, YOU ROCK! From driving mom to her room, to room service breakfasts, to chauffeuring to and from our little outings, never will you meet a more professional, hospitable bunch! The facility is beautiful and well kept. The fireplace in our room was welcoming in the evening with a nice charcuterie tray and a bottle of red wine. We truly loved our stay and everyone who worked so cheerfully to make it grand. Read less

BML is a warm and inviting property with great staff. The rooms are not fancy, but are comfortable and functional. We enjoyed having our own fireplace. The restaurant, lounge, cafe, and hot tub are great!
