Love the REAL wood burning fire place, fully wooded lodge n the location in the mountains, which was why i picked this property. Early check in, heated tiles at entrance n in toilet plus heated coat closet are pleasant touches n much appreciated. But hot water needs work. On our first nite, we needed a hot tub soak in the beautiful tub but there was not enough hot water n eventually even having a hot shower was a challenge. The next 2 nites was not an issue for hot showers tho never attempted hot tub soak again, din wanna risk it. Snow on balcony was not cleared n there were 2 bags of left over ice cubes as well. Going out to the balcony meant bringing snow into the room. There was a floor mat outside but it too was covered in snow. No floor mat on the inside. Chairs n table on balcony snow covered too. Upon check in i was told we have a nice view of the mountains but when we got to the room, it was all obscured by tall pine trees. So be sure to ask very specifically if this is really important to you. There are many other rooms that really do have unobstructed beautiful views. Great toilet amenities. Coffee n coffee machine needs lots of improvements. Had hot coffee n hot water spurting at me suddenly at the end of the brew, fortunately i managed to dodge the hot steam n spurts in time. No warning lables on machine about this. On first round, the water is not hot enough to brew coffee n i eventually had to run hotwater first b4 attempting to brew the sadly tasteless coffee pouch. Beds, pillows, beddings, linens all very comfortable n clean. Room spacious n good for 4 but we were only party of 2 so lots of room n excess linens. Complimentary shuttle to town and key attractions is awesome but call in advance to check their next available schedule as it could be like an hour plus or more b4 they can come pick u. On a nice day, there is a nice 15min scenic walkway to town but we din attempt this. it was a bit cold n windy on the days we were there plus we were at the end of a long 30 day 7 city trip n felt a bit exhausted to walk unnecessarily. We stayed in one of the premier rooms for two nights. The room was lovely really liked the fire and bath. It was very quiet and we slept really well. The hot tub was out of action but they gave us free tickets for the hot springs which we appreciated. The free transport in to the town was also a great add on. It is walkable and we did this in the mornings and would have done so in the evening if it had been warmer. Parking was not a problem either. We ate breakfast one morning in the restaurant which was also very good. This place is great if you want to be slightly away from the main town. Read less

Very nice place. Wood Fireplace in the room. Up a bit in the mountain from town bit not too far. They could do better on the shuttle service as it cant service the amount of rooms. We had a issue with some dripping noise in the ceiling and walls but not a big deal.

Beautiful property with terrific staff. In-room fireplace eased the bitter February cold. Love the quaint, cabin-like style, although the bed/mattress could be improved. Got all sorts of brownie points, my wife was so pleased. We want to come back, maybe in the fall.

At first, I was not sure where to stay when I booked my trip to Banff. I had eaten at the hotel's restaurant the last time I was in town and I recall the hotel grounds being quite nice. I looked around online to see what other places were around and in the end, I decided to stay here. It is not the cheapest place to stay in, but overall, it was comparable to other places. One of the things I liked about the hotel is that it is not on the main street. The area is quiet and it feels like you are driving into a forest when arriving. It is not noisy or bustling like the other hotels on the main street. I booked a studio apartment for my stay. I had never had a room with a fireplace and this seemed like an ideal room. It was on the ground floor which was nice so I did not have to carry all my gear upstairs. I was initially worried that the murphy bed would be uncomfortable. However, I did not have to worry. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The kitchen had everything needed to make breakfast. Breakfast at the hotel is too expensive especially since I was there for 9 days. If I recall it was almost $30 for breakfast if I took it as part of the room package. I could not justify spending that kind of money on breakfast. The staff were always friendly and available when needed. I had issues lighting the fire one night and I called really late to get more kindling. Someone came over quickly and I was able to get the fire going. I only had a problem with the lock on the door. I had to open and close the door a number of times every time to get the lock to latch properly. I had called about it on my 1st day, but the issue never seemed to have been fixed. One evening I came back and the door was opened. It would appear that the housekeeping staff had not properly latched the door, probably due to the same issue I had called about earlier in the week. Luckily nothing was stolen as the door was not visible from the road so it went unnoticed. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone in the area. Read less
