We were in Canmore staying at the Falcon crest (great value kitchenettes) and found our way to the Rimrock for a couple of nights . Got lucky with an upgrade to the Grandview room. This was our first time traveling anywhere since Covid started in March. We had such a fabulous time in Banff. We felt very safe and secure during our stay at the Rimrock, there were more than plenty of hand sanitizing stations available, including in each elevator as well as outside of the elevators. The room was very clean and we had a beautiful view over the town of Banff. I can't say enough how much this trip made a difference to us, It was just amazing to spend some quality time with our uni kids in a magical environment. We climbed Sulphur mountain which is located only steps away from the Rimrock. The views on the top are out of this world. We can't wait to go back again. Read less

It's been awhile since i stayed here. Got a decent rate so thought i'd give it a try again. Booked a Mtn View 2 Queen room, got a Mtn View 2 Queen room (no complimentary upgrade). The view was magnificent. But the room itself was really showing its age. Many facilities were closed due to COVID, so not much to do really. My real complaint was… Read more

The view was magnificent. But the room itself was really showing its age. Many facilities were closed due to COVID, so not much to do really. My real complaint was their loyalty program. Joined again (old account was invalid), and registered our stay. After our stay, i tried logging in to see if the stay shows in my history, and I CAN'T. I guess that's their way of promising to give free parking for your next stay and then depriving you of that. Overall, i would not recommend staying here anymore, unless you got a really good rate. Otherwise, better value can be had with some of the other hotels in town. Read less

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at Rimrock to celebrate our wedding anniversary. A quick drive from Calgary, the hotel is located up the hill from town, close proximity to the Banff Hot Springs & Sulphur Mountain Gondola. The Rimrock provides guests with bus tickets to use during your stay so you can leave your vehicle parked in the warmth of the underground parking. The Roam bus runs every 45 minutes & conveniently picks you up right at the entrance to the hotel. There are several stops in town that have an electronic indicator when the next bus will arrive (real time) as well the hotel will give you a schedule. There are hiking trails right outside the property, so we took advantage of the nice weather to go down past the Banff Springs Hotel to the Bow River Falls trail, which leads you to downtown Banff. It's also a short walk to the springs & gondola, which is convenient when they are open. The hotel has many changes in place since our last visit, due to the pandemic. These include shields at the front desk, place markers on the floor to indicate physical distancing, removal of some snacks in the cafe, limited hours of restaurants & spa, as well as the closure of the pool/hot tub facilities. While we were very disappointed about the closure of the pool/hot tub, I will not reduce my rating of the property because of government restrictions that have been put in place - it's still a beautiful property & the staff are friendly & helpful. A this time, masks are required everywhere (indoors & outside) in Banff, unless you are eating/drinking. We received a nice bakery item & card from the general manager Trevor Long (thanks!) for our anniversary, that was a nice touch. Breakfast at the Primrose was included in our stay - it was absolutely delicious and always includes a fantastic view from your table at the window! Dinner at the Larspur Lounge was really good & we took advantage as well of the happy hour pricing. Our room was comfortable and quiet as always & room service is also available. We will continue to return to Rimrock Resort Hotel - in fact we'll be back in January! Read less
