The hotel

An impressive hotel, soaring 25 storeys into the sky, the Delta Calgary Downtown occupies a prime location, right in the heart of Calgary and connected to attractions via the Plus 15 Walkway system. Stayed here when visiting the area on business. The building is older but was recently updated so it feels fairly fresh. Plenty of onsite parking and great location that is easily walkable to most downtown/riverfront locations. Connected via skybridge (called the +15) to the bow building where there is a Tim Hortons. The bathroom updates are great and I appreciate the elite pantry concept as opposed to a more formal lounge. The only negative was that I booked a corner suite but felt misled since the bedroom didn't have any windows nor even its own air vent so it would get really warm if you slid the pocket doors closed at night. I don't feel that this should be advertised as a suite and it isn't worth the additional cost. Read less

Final hotel of the tour we were on and we were so glad we had booked extra days. The staff addressed us by name at breakfast. We had a good view of the Calgary tower. Staff very helpful at all times. We were above the Emergency Station (firetrucks and EMS), yes we did hear them go out but didn't waken us in the night and was really no bother.… Read more

Very nice hotel and stay. The highlight was the breakfast service in the Shoe and Canoe restaurant. The breakfast staff provided the most friendly and attentive service we've had in a long time. The lounge area with the long fireplace was very welcoming and comfortable. The location in China Town was amazing for us as we got to try some new foods and stand in line for an hour at a popular tea place to experience the latest rage. The location was perfect for the Canada Day riverwalk festivities and fireworks as well as perfect for viewing the Calgary Stampede parade. It was 15 minutes walk from Calgary Tower where many guided tours typically depart. The lesser points were responsive but inconsistent housekeeping quality--seems a training and standardization issue. The shower was partially enclosed with half-sized plexiglass. The caulking at the glass-wall interface was not water tight so if you turn on the handheld shower head and it is pointed towards that corner (which it seems to naturally angle towards when placed on the holder), the water will flood the bathroom floor on the other side. The hotel's internet wifi connectivity was poor such that I had to disconnect and use the cellular data networks. Read less

Hotel is in a great location, just 1 block from the river and 3 blocks to the main street with all the bars and restaurants. Room was clean and very spacious. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Would definitely recommend, only reason why I didn't give 5* is because there is no safe in the room or a mini fridge to keep your water etc cool.

Spent 4 nights here in a basic room. Every thing was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed some good eats at the restaurant. Good location to walk to anything downtown in a matter of a few minutes. Access to covered walkway that takes you over to the Bow building.
