I haven't used Westin since Hawaii, which was very good, and they are now Marriott brand. But the downtown Calgary Westin lived up to usual standards, being efficient, welcoming and friendly. I had a quiet room on the seventh floor. Met the family in Owen's Landing on the other side of the Keg, half a block away - all very convenient. I didn't… Read more

The Westin is scary from the outside. Rather old and run down but once you made it through the entrance door all is fine. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice and the working space is good for business travelers. Gym and swimming pool are small but ok for their purpose. Towels and modern equipment are provided, nothing to… Read more

The rooms are nice and the working space is good for business travelers. Gym and swimming pool are small but ok for their purpose. Towels and modern equipment are provided, nothing to complain about. The breakfast is quite basic and not cheap. Marriott Platinium and higher members only get a continental breakfast offered and if you want eggs you pay around 12 CAD's. Special dietariy needs can be helped with...a little bit. If you don't want to go out for dinner you can access a Keg's Steakhouse direcly from the lobby. This place offers good food but if you prefer to talk to your friends it is not your place, communication is only possible when shouting. Read less

I have stayed at this hotel as a result of attending on-site events at least 3 times in the past year. It is clean and generally comfortable but has five minor flaws that collectively become major irritants: (1) The rooms have only a shower. I`d be ok with this except for the fact that the shower head has no adjustments AND there is no hose to wash individual body parts. (2) The hotel doesn't provide newspapers. The front desk perkily indicates that they "have gone paperless!". When I am paying $42 for breakfast, I'd like the choice of a paper. WIFI doesn't cut it. (3) The A-C fan can only be set to "auto" or "off". I like to put fans on low so I don't get disturbed by them cycling on and off. (4) The hotel doesn't provide in-room kettles for tea. Only a single cup coffee maker and that comes only with paper cups. At $250 per night per room, they could do better. (5) The toilet doesn't flush very well. Contents tend to circle rather than actually go down the drain. Saving graces is that the beds are VERY comfortable and the hotel is pretty quiet. But really, they are charging a lot to fall down in some many areas. Read less

Check-in was smooth and efficient. The staff even took time to orientate me with a map. They even asked for my room preferences and I was given a quiet room away from the street as I am a light sleeper. Room is sightly dated and it’s a 4 star hotel in Calgary. They even asked for my room preferences and I was given a quiet room away from the street as I am a light sleeper. Room is sightly dated and it’s a 4 star hotel in Calgary. So don’t expect much to begin with. Comes with the standard amenities you will expect except there were no bedroom slippers and body wash (soap bar provided but body was is available upon request). Bottled water given (I was lucky to have 4 given each day. Thanks Joy! You are an Angel). Comfortable bed with charging ports beside the bed is helpful. Small toilet though and it can be cold. Check out took a little longer during peak hours but someone came up and asked if we would like a bottle of water while waiting. Jonathan, you are a star! This is what I call proactive and putting customers first. Well done Westin Calgary! I would recommend this hotel. Read less

Very convenient spot for downtown Calgary. Even though it was quite cold, could easily move around via the elevated walkways to where needed to go. Staff was very helpful when needing help or a car service.
