Really enjoyed our stay with the exception of every interaction with Maria Bans Russo on Fairmont Gold floor. Every request seemed like we were bothering her and was absolutely awful to interact with. My children called her the "mean lady". Really obvious that she isn't happy working there and took it out on the guests. I did not come for a family vacation to this hotel for one of your staff to talk to me like I am stupid every time I need something. She is literally ruining your business. I won't be back and neither will the other guests that witnessed how she talks to a "valued customer." I will say however that Keenan Bowman and Philip Chua were amazing and it's obvious they carry Maria and her lack of social skills. Read less

I have enjoyed my Fairmont stays all over the world. This MacDonald really disappointed me. My visited started with a very lovely afternoon tea in the Harvest Room. Jacob was an excellent waiter! My issue was my room. I requested a high floor that I was granted. But I was placed in a room right next to the ice machine!! I heard ice dispensing all night long. I also heard ALL the heavy doors being slammed shut on my floor. The walls are paper thin and I also heard lots of street noise. The wi-fi is included if you are a member (which I am) but it kept disconnecting which was quite annoying. The a/c in my room did not work very well. While the hotel is quite pretty and lovely, I would not stay there again. Read less

We spent 3 nights on one of the "gold" floors and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was fantastic, no request was a problem, the room was very nice, and the ultra plush carpet in the hallway helped keep everything very quiet. For sure it was a bit of a "splurge", but felt worth it at the end of the day.

Was nice one night staying , but the staff was aggressive when we told him we just go in for like 10 mins to check in ! And the next room was so loud yelling at 3:30am. We were not able to go back to sleep !

Perfectly nice hotel but not on the same level as other Fairmonts I've stayed at. Staff were friendly but didn't have the same level of follow through and attentiveness as their other properties. I would return if I needed to be in Edmonton but I wouldn't make a trip to stay here like I do to their other properties.
